+ -1 moreAmazing! That?s the only word I can use that adequately describes the services of Matt Davis? Air Handlers of Memphis. One of his technicians made an initial service call to my home a few days ago and made some air flow adjustments at my request. Two days later, the adjustments failed. More out of curiosity than anything else, I called the first of several numbers listed on Air Handlers? web site on a Sunday afternoon. An answering machine referred me to the company?s office number in a voice that sounded very much like company owner Matt Davis. I called the office, talked to a company representative, and made an appointment for Monday morning. Here, again, I was amazed. The telephone numbers listed on the web site as being available 24 hours a day seven days a week met that description.) Air Handlers? technician arrived as scheduled the following day and corrected the problem in less than an hour ? far better service than I?d come to expect from several of the company?s competitors. I recommend their services without reservation.
Description of Work: Repaired a competitor's recently improperly installed ton HVAC system.

As you know it gets really hot in Memphis and I was miserable but no worries Air Doctors to the rescue, Matt was on time, incredibly efficient. He arrived Saturday morning and promptly fixed both units! We were very pleased! We even received a discount of no service call fee because we found them on Angie's List.

+ -1 moreCall Saturday evening was out on a Sunday on Labor Day weekend. You can tell this company is ran by good people. Matt & I look at coils and you see through them and by appearance they seem clean. Then once replace part and turn my unit on to cool he notice fan was putting out really hot air. He said need to clean it our I would be calling him back to replace the part again. Glad he did the coils were full of dirt. You could tell a huge difference in the temp of the air the fan was blowing out. That is why I said this company is ran by good people. It is refreshing to see a service company that values integrity over making a quick buck.

The evaporator coil replacement was pricier than I expected, but I also called around for other estimates and the price was in line with what others are charging. My A/C works great now and I hope it will continue to do so for many years! The techs who diagnosed the problem and performed the service were friendly and polite, although they could have done a better job of cleaning up before they left.
Description of Work: Did an overall inspection of the A/C system and found that there was a significant freon leak. Diagnosed the problem as being with the evaporator coil. Replaced the evaporator coil on a follow up visit.

+ -1 moreI've changed AC&R people now. I'm definitely a new customer for Air Doctors od Memphis. I called on a Saturday morning and he was out to the house in no time. Matt is the owner and one of the most profesional people in the industry I have met. Very friendly and courteuos. Very reasonable price for a Saturday call. I'd recommend him to anyone. Most of all he is an honest business person. Other AC&R companys I have dealt with in the past rely on a persons lack of Air Conditioner knowledge to bump up the work and price. Not Matt. You can trust him to treat you right!

+ -1 moreHVAC inspection was incomplete, as tech did not enter home to inspect the unit. Was told fan motor, capacitor along with cleaning would be done. After the service, tech reported that everything looked great, fluid levels fine. Within a week,temperature set on 72(above the tech's recommendation of 68-70ish) we were back to no air. Second tech was sent out (I was out of town and my adult children were present); new inspection which included coming inside, revealed the unit had frozen and evaporator coils would need to be replaced for approximately $1300. This was over the weekend. Returning home it took a few days to get the orginal tech on the line. I expressed my disappointment, and we could not reach a mutual resolve.

+ -1 moreRichard came out and diagnosed my problem as a bad capacitor and 3 VERY dirty units outdoors. He cleaned all 3 and replaced the capacitor. All is working well! I highly recommend!!! The storm rolled through that night and a different unit stopped working (master bedroom unit). Matt came out himself!!! Got it working and no problems. Air Doctors is the ONLY place I'll go or recommend from now on! Thanks!!!

+ -1 moreCame home from a business trip on a Saturday planning to leave town again the next day on vacation. Wife informs me on drive from the airport that one of our AC units is not cooling. I get home and the upstairs is in the 90s. First I reach for the yellow pages but then remember I had joined Angie's list about a year ago. First three guys I call don't even answer or are booked up. Matt answers his own phone immediately and shows up within an hour. He was already on a call and had to finish up before coming to fix my AC. ONCE AGAIN THIS IS A SATURDAY AFTERNOON!!! My AC was fixed within 2 hours of calling!

+ -1 moreWhen I called Air Doctors Of.Memphis, the phone was answered promptly and In a courteous manner. I asked if it was the answering service, The gentleman. said no, this is Matt and I am the owner, I don't use an answering service. When I told him our system was down and we were elderly, he said he would be out right away. In in less than two hours time Matt had arrived and checked out the system. It took an hour or so to replace the burned out motor. We are back up and running now. As a retired businessman, I find myself being constantly aware of quality and service. Angie's list information and Matts courteous manner and service proved to be a winner for every one involved. It would be wonderful if all businesses were run well, but many are not. I am a firm believer in doing your homework, Angie's list should be one of the steps in doing so.

+ -1 moreThe AC went out at my brother's house in Memphis on Memorial Day evening. He is disabled and in a wheelchair and cannot open the windows in his house, so we needed the repair ASAP. I sent them a message at 10 pm, hoping to get on their list for AC repair ASAP. Matt called me within five minutes and set us up for an appointment the next morning around 10. He actually arrived around 8:30 and discovered a bad fan motor. His stock motor did not fit and he immediately went to find a motor that did fit. Within an hour the AC was up and running. Thanks!

+ -1 moreEverything went extremely well. It was done quickly and expertly. I can't say enough about my experience with Air Doctors, and Matt.
Description of Work: I turned on my upstairs A/C for the first time this year and it was blowing hot air. Went outside to the unit and the unit was screeching and the fan was not turning. I was convinced that the unit (14 years old) was shot. I called Air Doctors in a panic to ask if they could install a new unit. Matt was in the area and came within 10 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a "frozen" fan motor, probably caused by ice runoff from the roof over the winter months. Matt took the fan assembly apart, oiled the shaft and reinstalled. He checked the capacitor and Freon levels and found them to be well within specs. Put everything back together, turned it on and it runs like a champ. I am one very happy customer and I appreciate how quickly Matt responded and the quality at which he performed. I will definitely use these folks in the future. He could have very easily convinced me that I needed a new A/C unit, but it was easy to tell that he doesn't operate that way. I also learned a valuable lesson about how the weather could affect my A/C unit. In the future, I will cover it during the winter months.
