My mom always asks for a particular technician of Ray Baker's as he has always shown her nothing but courtesy and seems very knowledgable about what he is doing. She calls to make an appointment, they give her time they will be there, they are always on time and does a great job servicing her a/c and heating units.
Description of Work: I, personally, have not used Ray Baker, but my mother has numerous times over the years. She speaks very highly of this company and has always been quite satisfied with the work they do, the tips they have given her, the professionalism of their employees and the quality of their work. Each spring and fall, she has them come to her home to perform P.M. services on her heating and a/c units. $170 covers the cost of both P.M. calls.

I was assigned this company via home warranty company (AHS) for my a/c problem. When the company first contacted me after receiving a service request from AHS, the earliest appointment available was 5 days out. Luckily the weather was tolerable enough to manage this wait. Being logical, one would think being in the air conditioning business, more than few problems will surpass the common low refrigerant diagnostics. This would mean you should be able to replace normally worn/torn components that make up a typical home a/c unit within a day or two. Well long story short, the first tech that serviced my a/c unit that ran, but could reach a temperature below 85 degrees in the house, just dumpedrefigerant in it. Within an hour received my service fee ($60) and made a closing comment, "if it stops cooling again, ask for Baker because we'll come back and check for leaks, another company will just add refrigerant", go figure. The system ran approximately five hours after he left then stopped cooling. I had to place a recall service request back to Ray E Baker via AHS. Two service guys came out this time. Their impression from the start appeared a bit off, probably because they were sent to do rework and would not be receiving a payment for doing this job. The pressure check revealed that the refrigerant was low indicating a leak. Afetr checking the outside unit and inside furnace lines, the tech offered they could not identify a leak. One of the techs suggested that putting stop leak in the system would allow the system to run without losing refigerant and would add it in if I paid out of pocket for it; bandaging the problem was not an option for me especially when I just witnessed your leak detector not locating a leak. The other offer was that they would submit an invoice for a cooling coil to their supervisor who, at 2:00 p.m., they said was not in the office to get this process moving; I never saw either tech make a call on their cell so the validity of that statement was doubtful. Since this is Friday (June 8th), the company has used 2 man days at my resident, and now a part was being requested, I and my family have the brut of bearing another weekend without a working R22 a/c unit. Were else in America does it takes an a/c company 2 weeks to figure out the exact reason a home a/c unit can't cool the house below 85 degree
Description of Work: The first service tech charged 3 lbs of R22 into my system on June 7th. On June 8th, two service techs performed a leak test, no obvious leak discovered, pulled the unit's fuse, wrote an invoice for a cooling coil, and left

The crew identified the leaking line and repaired it with a better designed joint that took the pressure off the connection. The leak stopped. The two man crew were very personable and professional. The job site was cleaned up prefectly. I highly recommend this company for your plumbing problems.
Description of Work: After American Leak Dection found a serious leak in my water intake line going into the house I called Baker plumbing. The crew arrived that day about one hour after I called.

We had noticed a gas smell coming from the drawers below our gas range. I found Ray Baker on Angie's List and gave them a call. They had someone out the next business day. The serviceman was very polite and professional, and he was able to locate the source of the leak and fix it without issues. We also had him look at our kitchen sink which was taking a long time to get hot water running. He identified the problem and gave us a quote for fixing the issue. He wasnt pushy, just laid out what needed to be done and gave us our options. Overall, it was a good experience, and we will definitely use them again in the future when we have any plumbing or gas line issues.
Description of Work: Fixed gas leak under our gas range, and provided an estimate to fix our issue with slow hot water in our kitchen.

Needed to replace my garbage disposal. Called first thing Monday morning. They had a guy on site within 4 hours. Fixed it in less than an hour and did a nice job! Price was a set fee of $250. I could probably have found someone a bit cheaper, but the responsiveness, professionalism, quality, all easily made up for the few extra $.

We called about a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom. The plumber was fantastic. Even though the source of the leak turned out not to be the pipes, he was able to refer us to another contractor to fix our problem (old caulk). The plumber was also nice enough to help us adjust some other minor problems in our other bathrooms. Outstanding service. We would definitely use them again!

I found them on Angie's List and they were amazing; I loved them. I used a coupon on Angie's List for this transaction. I live in a historic house and these guys were experts on this type of home; they know more about my house than I did. They knew exactly what to do and I was very appreciative. I will use them again in the future.

The plumber was extremely professional and provided quality service at an extremely reasonable price.
Description of Work: The plumber removed my non-functioning garbage disposal and converted it back to normal PVC pipes. (I didn't want the hassle of future repairs and it's better for the environment not to have a disposal: saves water, energy, and doesn't put extra waste in water supply.) They also fixed a leak in one of the bathtub fixutures (shower 'hot' handle).

I discovered the leak and called Ray E. Baker. They stated that they could be there in the some time after noon. I came home, and, as I waited for them, I began digging to find the leak. The plumber arrived around 4:00 and started the repair. He was there for about one hour, and, stated that the cement needed at least 1.5 hours to dry before it could be tested and the hole refilled. Before he left, he instructed me on how to check the leak. 1.5 hours later, I turned the water back on and there was no leak. So, I filled the hole back in.

I realized late on Wednesday afternoon a pipe had broken and was leaking everything from my kitchen into my basement! I looked on Angie's list to find a reliable company and called Ray Baker Heating and Plumbing because of the great reviews they have. I was very happy with all aspects of their work. The sent someone right over even though it was late the day to see what the problem was and what needed to be done to control the water and then to fix the problem. They saw the issue and made an appointment to come out the next morning and fix the leak. They showed up on time and were very knowledgable, courteous and efficient. They did great work and I will call them again for any plumbing issues. Highly recommended!

I was pleased with the professional attitude displayed by the staff and workmen. I felt the price was about right. And I plan to use them again for plumbing and ask them to come out and work on my air conditioner.
Description of Work: I called the office on Monday. The office staff was friendly and promised to send out a plumber on Tuesday, the next day. The plumber Mike called me Tuesday morning and told me when to expect him. He arrived on time, went under the house, and found the broken drain pipe. He ordered to parts, went to get a helper, and completed the repair quickly and charged me what the amount he estimated the job would cost. Both of the repairmen were friendly, competent, and neat. They cleaned up completely afterwards.

I found them on Angies List and Angie didn't steer me wrong! I called over the weekend and left a message. Someone called back in an hour to confirm it wasn't an emergency (because they were willing to come out if it was). I said no but scheduled for Monday. They called Monday to confirm. Due to scheduling changes on my end I had to call back to move the time. Super super nice customer service and extremely accommodating. Tech arrived right on time and looked and acted extremely professionally. He fixed my problem right away and gave me a 10% discount for using Angies List. I would definitely recommend and will always use again if I need a plumber.

They did a great job. I don’t think I can ask for a better service. I called them one day when I noticed that I had a leak in my water heater. They came out the next day to check and give me an estimate. They were on time. They told me what I expected, which was that I needed to get a new water heater. They were able to replace the water heater. The price could have been a bit cheaper, but it was a fair price. The service was great. They were very professional and friendly. They went out of their way to try and help me out that day, so I wouldn’t have to take off again. The whole experience was good. I haven’t had any problems. Subsequently, in our city we have to get the water heater inspected and get a permit for that. It was inspected, and there was no problem. I got a discount because of Angie's list.

Daughter dropped a glass jar into disposal, where it broke and filled the machine with glass. Ray Baker plumber came out and fished out a little glass, gave us a hex wrench and showed us how to get the thing going again. Every time we've called Ray Baker Plumbing, and that's several times since we moved into Midtown, they show up when they say they will, fix the problem, explain what they did, and every time they give us some ideas on how to keep our plumbing system going. They are friendly, respectful, talented, hardworking. They really know what they are doing. Strongest possible recommendation.

When I discovered I had a water leak in my front yard I went to Angie's list to find a plumber. I found Ray Baker's name and immediately called them. They came out the next day as promised. I like the fact that someone from their office calls ahead of time to let you know they are on their way. They promptly found the leak and repaired it. Since they were there I asked them if they would look at a toilet that kept overflowing. They came in and had it fixed in about ten minutes. I also asked them if they could install a new toilet in the master bath that I had already purchased. They did that also, in about 45 minutes. Several years ago I had another leak in my front yard. The plumbing company I called out to fix it chrged me over $300. This company charged me $150. My whole bill for their services that day was still less than what I paid several years ago just to fix the leak in my front yard!

Overall, well. The professisonalism of the tech/plumber was a little questionable, however, he knew what he was doing and did it very well. The plumber did not introduce himself, I showed him the "dropped" disposal and he remarked he had never seen one do that before. I made it very clear I was not going to purchase a new disposal as this one is only 2 years old. He took it apart, cleaned the connection parts, re-assembled and re-mounted it to the sink. \He did a great job, just not very articulate or customer oriented.

Water was leaking into my kitchen cabinets when I used the sink. I called & they came the same day. They called approx. 30 minutes before the service person would be there, & that's right when he was there. There was a 3 hour window that they gave me & he was on the very front end of that time frame. He replaced the disposal & now my feet don't get wet when I use the kitchen sink!

We had two leaky faucets as the kids had done something with the toilet. He was really nice. He walked us through what he was going to do.
