+ -1 moreEverything went pretty well and the gentleman kept me in the loop with what he was doing. He had to leave on a Friday morning and come back on a Monday afternoon because he needed some help. They came when they told me they would and they left promptly afterwards. They told me what I need to do and they left me a couple of tools as well. They are pretty kind. I have an old system so there aren?t many people who can do work on them.

+ -1 moreThe guys showed up when they were scheduled to be here. They were nice and professional. I could have been talked into replacing the incoming water valve since I already thought it would need it but they talked me out of it and saved me a lot of money by doing so. This showed professional ethics that are rare today. They replaced the toilet valve, installed a new kit and formed a new stainless steel tube from the valve to the toilet. They did his in a very reasonable amount of time. The service call charge (they do not have a "free estimate" for work to be done) was deducted from the over all bill. I am very pleased with the service and the price.
Description of Work: I asked them to look at 2 valves: Incomming water supply from the street and toilet valve. I thought they both would need replacing. They suggested leaving the incomming water valve alone since it was in good shape but needed a lot of turning to turn it off and on. The toilet valve did need replacing and a new toilet kit (the existing one was leaking).

Ray Baker cleaned out the line and recommmended that we use the facilities in a different way. No problems since then. I have used them before and will continue to use them.

Description of Work: I had a leaking faucet which two other members of my family had attempted to correct. i saw Angie's list on TV and decided to give them a try. I found Ray Baker at the top of the plumbers and saw nothing but super reports from satisfied customers so i gave them a call. The person on the phone was very professional and after getting a little information said she had a repair man in my neighborhood and did i want them to come by today? Less than 3 hours later, i received a call saying the plumber was on his way and would be at my home within 30 minutes. The repairman was efficient, speedy and very polite. The entire job took less than an hour and considering that The Handyman Connection had quoted me an estimate of over $300, I thought the $94.03 I was charged was great!

I am kind of a handy man so the plumber told me how to fix it when the part came in. It installed exactly as described. I could not be happier. Plumber was polite and very helpful.

+ -1 moreThe toilet that was coming loose and leaking or not flushing had been "repaired" twice by the man who had installed the new bathroom tile. The first time the toilet would get clogged up all the time then came loose and actually broke the tile. The second time we replaced the toilet with a new one and after it was installed over the replaced tile; it still came loose. The Plumber arrived exactly at the time he said, shimmed up the toilet (the tile and floor was not level) sealed it and caulked it. The result was very clean and attractive and now it is safe to sit on! He also replaced the cartridge and reworked the bathtub faucet so it no longer leaked. This all was done in about an hour, very nice and thorough work.
Description of Work: Fixed leaking toilet that had come loose after tile work was performed and repaired leaking faucet in bathtub that had no plumbing access. Came exactly on the day we requested them to come.

+ -1 moreWe woke up one morning and we had no hot water. At that point we joined Angie's List because we needed a plumber. We wanted a company with all A ratings and we found that with this company. We couldn't get the exact model that we wanted but we got one that was close to it. They were super clean and took care of any mess that they made and we would use them again.
Description of Work: They took out the old water heater that was in the attic and replaced it with a new one and we then had to have an inspection on it. We own a two unit condo and a common area and someone else owns the first floor and part of the common area as well.

+ 0 moreMy 60 year old toilet was leaking. They said it was a good toilet and we should repair it instead of replace it and they would look for the parts. They sent an expert in that brand out the next day and he said the price of the repair would match a new toilet. We gave very specific instructions about the type of toilet we wanted; they bought it and installed. They were punctual, courteous, knowledgeable and professional. They came out a few days later to check minor carbon monoxide that was leaking from the hot water heater. They were very thorough and explained to me what they were doing. They made the necessary adjustments. I had called on a weekend. They called back on Monday and had 2 plumbers at my door at 8:15 on Wednesday morning.
Description of Work: They replaced a toilet one day and then checked a vent leak in my hot water heater.

He felt a little bad, I think, to have to charge the $88, and I was thrilled to have a solution in such a short period of time. I told him about Angie's List and showed him your site. I printed out Ray Baker's plumbing reviews for him to take back to the shop. A most pleasant encounter. Two thumbs up.
Description of Work: I had very poor water flow in the kitchen sink. The serviceman removed the diverter from the faucet, attempted to replace it but didn't have one on board, so he gave me the name of a company where I could purchase one, as I declined to have him order one.

+ -1 moreWe have a 1920s radiator system that had not been run in years. Two previous "experts" abandoned what should have been a straight-forward task, daunted by the radiator's age. Ray Baker's radiator expert was professional and efficient, and got our system working like new in no time. Most impressive was that we didn't have to put up with the feedback we had been getting about just "giving up" on the radiator or that it would be scary to run it. We're so much happier with the results of our old radiator than our modern forced air system.
