Description of Work: I have a very small old fireplace in my house that was built in 1927. I wanted to see if I could get a gas line to get gas logs. The worker was not on time, was very unprofessional and did not seem knowledgeable about his job or the information that was provided. Due to his lack of professionalism, punctuality, and lack of knowledge, I would not recommend this company. And I certainly would not have trusted him to install a gas line in my house, that seemed like a disaster waiting to happen.

Description of Work: My shower was leaking at the wall and was getting drywall wet. Fortunately it was not leaking in wall. I had purchased new arm and new shower head which plumber installed. Did good job. No problems since. On time which is always welcomed.

Description of Work: We had tried to fix our own shower faucet by replacing various parts. However, nothing seemed to work and we wound up spending more money on needless parts than we did by paying Ray E. Baker Plumbing to come out and fix it for us. Lesson learned: just go ahead and call a plumber. Ray E. Baker plumbing came out within 24 hours, fixed the faucet in about 30 minutes by replacing a washer and only charged us about $85.00.

Description of Work: I am a year late writing this review. I remembered because I had to call them again this morning. The repairman was very kind and informed us of exactly what the problem and what needed to happen. He replaced the thermostat on our solar water tank. He performed the repair in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. I don't recall the exact cost but it was under $100. I was very impressed with his professionalism, that is why I called again this morning.

Description of Work: Water welling up from near the foundation that was initially thought to be a ruptured drain. It was clearly not sewage, but gray water from under the slab was the fear due to a recent difficult pressure power clean out in an older, small drain by a drain service. We had turned off the sprinkoer system for several days to exclude that as a cause as the utilities clearly showed a significant leak. We have used the company on several occasions based on my wife families' experience with the original owner for whom the company is named. They came, found a soft spot several feet away from the house. We were unaware of the water line in that locatlion, which was adjacent to a renovation. Other water lines come in at the other end of the house and are distributed in the attic. They dug down, found the leak at the connection with the pcv and copper, made the repair, found and marked a drain access that we were unaware of, checked for a leak after the repair, filled it in and were done in a couple of hours. It was the kind of experience that made you feel good about paying for a job well done. They maintain the tradition of excellence that was established by the founder many years ago. We recommend the highly and without reservation.

Description of Work: Ray E Baker Heating Plumbing & Cooling has a maintenance contract with us and they come out twice a year, in the spring and the fall. They also installed a new compressor for our air conditioning unit.

Description of Work: It all started well. The service guys were on time and very professional. Probably one of the best experiences with the techs I have ever had. All the tasks I needed were completed and double checked. They should earn an A! Then came time to pay. I had mentioned when I made the appointment that I had found them on Angie's list and saw they had a 10% off coupon for new customers. When the bill came in the discount was not on the bill. The tech promptly went back to call about it. He returned with the bad news that I was a previous customer. Turns out that an American Home Shield claim from 2003 prevents a discount. I did not choose them then and didn't even remember that they were the provider of the service. My bill was $940! So the discount we are talking here is only $94! In my opinion that is a small amount in "principal" to upset a customer! In the end I am now torn. Great guys and service and a very greedy petty office so I don't know if I will use them again!

Description of Work: The problem was with my store plumbing. The water usage had increased by 10x. The plumber quickly solved the mystery. The store next door was hooked to my water meter and their toilet was running contineously.

Description of Work: I had a leak under my house that was probably beyond my pay-grade. Called Ray Baker Co. and they were there the next day. They arrived actually a little early and worked until the problem was solved. They found some other unrelated issues and informed me of them as well. The work was more than any of us thought at the outset, but they did a good job, quickly and for a fair price. the technicians were Mike and Steve (I think). They were good. I would definitely use Baker again and would try to get Mike and, or Steve.

Description of Work: I called the company to repair a leak in the wall coming from an upstairs shower. They were able to send someone that afternoon. He arrived at the time estimated and repaired two leaks behind the wall in about an hours time. The service was very professional and the plumber was very personable and polite. I could not be more pleased with the service and would recommend to anyone.

Description of Work: Thought our water heater had died. The technician evaluated and fixed the heater, as well as providing a "rough" estimate of what it might cost if the water heater actually does fail. Professional. Timely. Customer service oriented.
