I found Air Masters on Angie's list. I placed a call and talked to a tech to request service. He was very nice and great to talk to on the phone. The office was to call the next day to arrange a time to meet at the home. The first time was too early for the person I had meeting so a later time was arranged. The first tech called me to report the results of the check and stated that he thought the unit would need to be replaced, but that he wanted a second tech to check and comfirm his finding. The second tech called later that afternnon and gave the same result. He was also very nice. When I get moved to Memphis I will need to meet with a sales person to review my options.
Description of Work: i arranged a service call to check and service havc system. It was determined that the system would need to be replaced.

I am very satisfied with the quality of service Air Masters provides! I have a monthly service plan with them. They come out once a month to maintain and repair my central air system. They explain to me how to use my system to be more cost effective and efficient. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

A routine inspection revealed a leaking heat exchanger in the furnace and carbon monoxide leaking into the house. AirMasters helped me determine how quickly I needed to get this repaired, then worked through about eight options to find the right solution for me. I have a 500 gal propane tank already in the ground and a prepaid fuel contract, so they selected a "dual fuel" heat pump that allows me to keep using propane at my discretion as a backup to the heat pump. It also provides huge savings in fuel costs - the new system is at least 25% more efficient than what it replaced, plus uses cheaper fuel. AirMasters moved my installation date three times to fit our holiday schedule changes and finally installed the day after Thanksgiving. Family was still here during the installation, but they worked around us all. They started and ended on time, put down floor coverings, kept doors shut as they came and went and wore boot covers in the house. They removed all the old equipment and thoroughly tested the system before they left. The following week they sent a different serviceman to inspect the work and check that the system was operating normally. I have never had a complete heating and air system replaced, but I could not imagine a smoother operation. I was completely satisfied and thoroughly impressed with the quality of the operation.

The installation crew, Terry and Thong, were excellent. They were on time, professional, clean and very quick. In at 9:00AM out at 4:00PM. The sales rep Kevin Stevens, was courteous, professional and very helpful. He even filled out the TN forms for my application for rebate
Description of Work: I needed a new A/C & Heating system installed After a hard search among several companies we selected Air Master on several key factors: Their interest in solving my problem in the most cost-effective way. Providing a competitive price. An excellent lifetime warranty - if my furnace's heat exchanger or my A/C compressor goes out they replace the system, not just the part. .

I am very pleased with AirMasters and would gladly recommend them to anyone needing service. The technicians are amazing, they have straight forward pricing and carry the parts on their trucks. The technician was interested in saving me some money and offered the Club Membership to save me money on this repair, guaranteed me priority service (could it be any better) on future service calls and assured me there were still service companies that cared about their customers. They will be coming back to service my heat and A/C. Customer Service was knowledgeable, concerned and courteous and the experience was awesome. I did not mind paying for something that was done right the first time.
Description of Work: Upon arriving home in Brighton, TN from work in Memphis, TN about 7:00 PM on an extremely hot day, I found my A/C unit outside making a lot of noise with a burning smell. I called AirMasters office and got a knowledgeable live person on the phone which is astonishing in itself. I was expecting to have to wait until the next day at minimum for service and expected to pay a premium charge for service with a company that I had not used before during a peak time. I was told that they would be out that evening to check my unit. Within 45 minutes I received a return call and was advised that the technician would be there within 20 minutes. The technician arrived and quickly diagnosed the problem, a bad motor and had the motor on his truck and had my A/C up and running within 45 minutes. At 9:30 pm, the temperature outside was 92 degrees, but my house was already cooling off nicely. The technican also changed my filter and signed me up on their Club Membership thereby saving me about $85.00 on this service call. As a plus, this new part is guaranteed for 2 years on parts and labor. (Amazing!) They did not charge me premium rates as I had expected. Airmasters was a "Godsend" on an extremely hot day.

I called Air Masters for my fall heating service check on my 9 year old system. The service tech was friendly and pleasant. Upon examining both heating units he told me they both had failed internal heat chamber "crimp rings". He allowed me to look into an access hole and with a flash light showed me one side of each chamber where the crimp rings were missing and one side where they were still present. He said due to heating and expansion of the chamber, these crimp rings can fail and fall out which then allows the metal of the chamber to separate, potentially allowing CO2 to get into my air system. He said it was a very dangerous situation and said by policy he needed to shutoff the gas and mark the unit as unsafe. He gave me the name and phone number for their salesman to discuss the costs of repair vs. total unit replacement. Before I called I did some research on the problem and found it was a problem that could occur with my make/model. Then before I called the salesman I ran into another HVAC guy working on my neighbors house and asked him if he could come over and take a look. He came in and actually took apart the heating unit to pull out the heat chambers to examine them. There was no problem with them. The reason I could not see the crimp rings on one side was because they were hiden from view from the access hole. He saved me thousands of dollars in unnecessary replacement costs. The Air Masters tech was either incompetent or a scam artist, either way not what I want in a HVAC company. And after declaring my system unsafe and marking it so, I never heard word one back from Air Masters. They called me all the time about coming out for my service checks prior to this. I'll have to assume that they thought I got a second opionion and realize there was not a problem with my units. Why else would they leave a potential several thousand dollar sale on the table and never contact me?
Description of Work: During a previous visit by Air Masters I purchased a service contract for fall and spring service checks on my heat and a/c systems.

I was having a condensation problem in my A/C system, at the evaporator on the furnace. The water had accumulated and was leaking into my second floor ceiling. Air Masters came to clean the evaporator and during inspection, discovered that I had a major crack in my heat exchange unit in my upstairs furnace. They cleaned my drain pipes to address the condensation leak and the problem went away, temporarily. I was advised to look into replacing my furnace before the heating season came because of the crack and the potential for CO fumes. An appointment was set up for the AIr Masters sales rep (Kevin Stevens) to meet with me. Kevin showed up, on time as scheduled, and reviewed my situation. He presented me with several options for replacing my furnace, none of them in a high pressure manner. He was really easy to work with. Kevin and I kicked around a couple of alternatives and I decided to replace BOTH furnaces since they were 27 years old. We worked together to come up with the best alternatives. Since my system was leaking (it clogged again due to all of the rust in the unit), Kevin asked Don Wright to make me a priority install, which Don agreed to. Kevin asked Don for some discounts on my order in light of the money I had just spent on the leak a few days earlier. Again, Don agreed and I was presented with a cost estimate that, I believe, was very fair to both Air Masters and me. My install was scheduled for Friday the 22nd at 9:00. The installers (Dale and Shawn) showed up right on time. They were extremely nice people and went right to work. They kept me advised as to how the install was going at all times. Tarps we laid over the carpet on the stairs and hallway. They finished on time as they had estimated. All of the old furnace equipment was hauled away and I had to do nothing at all. These folks were excellent from Sales right through service. I highly recommend them and will use them again in the future. My A/C units are 10 years old. I had them replace the 2.5 ton furnace with a 3.0 ton unit. When my A/C units crap out, I will upgrade them to 3.0 tons as well and I will use Air Masters to do it.
Description of Work: Replace my 2 - 27 year old furnaces with new furnaces. Address some of the drainage issues with the water run off that have been there since the house was built.

Office manager very polite and helpful. Local person. Asked for 2PM appt on a Saturday. Arrived 30 minutes early which I requested if possible. YES, I said a repair man showed up 30 minutes early...this is not Comcast. :) Technican was very polite and knowlegable. I ask a lot of questions, he spent the time to discuss and explain the issue. Of course it was a "minor repair"...unit needed Freon. But he went the extra mile and replaced some plastic covers with new brass one (will not loosen and leak in the future). Also topped off our 2nd A/C units Freon and replaced plastic caps at no charge. Used Angies List $25 coupon.

Called to schedule an appointment. Person answering the phone was rude and didn't seem interested in my business. Technician arrived within 4 hours as promised. After minimal troubleshooting, he provided a quote of more than $350 (not including service fee) to add freon to both units. The company charges a flat rate for freon. I declined the service and called another technician who arrived within an hour and charged half the price.

Presented bid very professionally with all the necessary brochures to explain what we were buying. Installers showed up on time and completed the work in one day. Did not seem to know about the duct work but completed it when I explained what was to be done. They did complain they were not told about it . A few weeks later the same installation crew chief became angry when when I showed him a notice a city code inspector had left refusing to pass some wiring. (The inspector was wrong and did approve it when this was pointed out.) These two instances are the only reason for the less than "A" on professionalism. All work was done as contracted. Very pleased with the new system. Two years later in July we came home from vacation at 9:30pm to find the A/C had quit while we were gone. Called and left a message for help, and they were there first thing the next morning to fix it (ants had shorted out a 24 volt connecter). Very pleasant and professional. Obviously not faulty equipment just stupid ants. Everything covered by warranty.

AirMasters came out in a reasonable amount of time. They diagnosed the problem as a shorted out capacitor. The tech was very professional and fixed the issue. The only problem I had, was the price. They charged me $276.00 for a capacitor that cost $60.00. That's almost five times the cost of the part. Tte company does charge a Trip and Diagnostic Charge of $72.00 and a $4.00 Shop Supply charge. They should tell the customer about the Trip and Diagnostic charge upfront. I understand that the techs don't work for free, but paying $352.00 for a shorted out capacitor and for about 45minutes of work is bit too much. .

You can get them on the phone very easily. Gavin is the service coordinator, and Kevin comes out to evaluate the job. I was very impressed with the level of expertise and the technology that they were able to use to solve our problem. They did a really good job, and the system seems to be working really well to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter. They spent a lot of time putting together the system, and the price was fair. They Charged me the price that they estimated, and they were very quick and responsive.
Description of Work: They did extensive work on our Heating and A/C system that controls the room that we have above the garage. Before we used them se could never keep the temperature controlled up there, but they were able to install a system that would allow us to control the temperature without having to put insulations in all the walls of the garage. The system installation required a lot of duct work like duct extensions, wire work, and they installed dampers int he ducts to help control the temperature.

We had an old 2-ton Trane unit upstairs that simply could not cool in the heat of the summer. While still under home warranty, we had to use their company to determine the problem. It took three trips--and lots of hot days passed--before we ascertained the problem. I wish they had sent Air Masters! Kevin was professional and patient and answered all our questions, including a couple of phone calls. We determined the best model for us, and we scheduled the service. It was a quick installation, complete with a tutorial on the new thermostat and the dampers on the attic units. We are really pleased with the service and later called them to come service our furnaces in readiness for the winter. We'll be Air Masters customers when the need arises again!

One of their sales representatives, Kevin, visited the home, scoped the problem and proposed a reasonable solution. He was patient with my questions and did not try to force on me some of their other products and services (extended maintenance plan, etc.) He did not force a hard sale (like some of their competitors). On the day of the work his crew showed up on time, was very professional in appearance and attitude and the final install was done very well. They even addressed a few issues on our other AC unit with no additional charge. I would definetly use them again and have already recommended them to others.

I called Air Masters to service my air conditioning system. The technician determined that the unit needed freon. The $72 charge turned out to be the cost for the technician to show up on my doorstep. An additional $175 would be incurred if I had hired them to load freon into the unit. I thought the charge was outrageous and hired a different company to service our a/c system. ( and I was given a much more fair price.)

Jeremy (service tech) came out to do the Fall inspection. Cracks were found in the heat chamber. Jeremy and I agreed that the furnace should not be used in that condition. The next day Kevin came out to the house to discuss my options. Based on the age of the unit I decided to do a complete replacement as opposed to trying to repair the existing unit.
