Merritt Heating & Air

We could not be happier with this experience!! I called Gary after hours and left a voice message. He called back in record time and set up a time to check our unit the next day. (It was night and cooler, so his coming the next day was not an issue for us.) I was extremely impressed with how quickly he responded. I found out after he serviced our unit that he told my husband he apologized for not getting right back with us, but he was celebrating his anniversary! Wow! He came promptly at the time he said he would and started right to work. He found the issue very quickly. Apparently, the last person who had serviced the unit (and replaced some parts to the tune of $500!) had left some caps off that might have allowed the coolant to escape. Gary added coolant, replaced the missing caps, and cleaned off the unit. The system has run perfectly since. We will definitely be calling him again and are planning to have him come and service our unit in the fall!

Mr. Merritt was here promptly at 8.A.M. He replaced one part and had to go pick up another part to put on. Very nice and professional!!

We had a last minute request from our customer and Gary completed his regular work schedule that day, then came out after hours to complete his work with us so we could stay on schedule. While he was there, he even went the extra mile and fixed a few other issues he discovered. He's definitely the first contact for us on any Heating/Air Conditioning needs and we'll refer him to others every chance we get! Due to erosion the fan unit outside was leaning severely. He came in with a Bobcat, lifted the unit and concrete slab up. He then cleaned out under the slab and put large concrete blocks under the slab. He then leveled it out and lowered the unit back in place. He made sure the unit was level and stable and cleaned up the dirt. Cost was great and he was very professional. Will use him again any time we need repairs.

Mr. Merrit was 5 min. early , very courteous, friendly, found problem fast, clean and kp small mers he had made charged less. Then we wanted have expect to pay

He was on time, performed the service work exactly as I had hoped. He even stayed late to make sure that the units were running efficiently and keeping the house warm. He was very professional and has a huge truck fully stocked with every part he might ever need to fix units and keep them running. He even offered to work with the company and process a warranty return for me. Great company, I will do business with him again. I am under a service contract and will see him twice a year to keep my HVAC running nicely.

Our grand-daughter's new baby was hospitalized when their home air conditioner went out, so I called Merritt Heating & Air, based on their reviews in Angies List. Gary Merritt responded promptly, even though he missed his lunch! He arrived even earlier than he had estimated, went to work immediately, quickly found and showed me the problem (a bug-shorted contact in the exterior unit). He had the required part on his truck, so he replaced it, made sure the unit was again functioning properly, and left. Mr Merritt was prompt, courteous, and professional in every way. His charges were VERY reasonable and we would CERTAINLY use his services again! Thanks, Gary!

Gary was right on time for both visits. On the first visit he refilled the R22 freon and got us cool again. It took a couple of weeks to get the new coil since it was a special order. All work was neat and professional.

I contacted Gary to do an estimate for heating and cooling in a finished basement. Prior to coming out, my a/c began not cooling. Upon his arrival, I asked if he could check the a/c. He misdiagnosed the problem as being two missing valve covers. He charged $141.10. The performance of the a/c was no different and wasn't cooling at all . Gary came out two days later and discovered two holes in a line. He repaired the holes and the a/c worked well. He charged $214 including another load of freon and additional labor costs as well as a partial service fee. I was taken aback and shocked that he would charge for duplications of things paid previously because of the faulty diagnosis. I called Gary months later and told him that I was going to do a review for Angie's List and asked if he wanted to do anything to correct the problem I had. He was extremely rude and became angry and said to .do whatever you want,I'm not doing anything. I didn't use Gary to do the basement HVAC because he did not complete the estmate when promised and was quite a bit higher. I would never use Gary again, nor would I recommend him. I have to question his knowledge to miss holes in a line the first time. Also, to become angry and to respond he the manner he did was grossly unprfessional.

Gary was very pleasant, professional, and informative. And on top of all that he came out on a holiday; just in time for us to beat the heat. We plan on replacing the entire system next year and as far as we're concerned, Gary already has the job.

Gary checks all of our units (there are 4 separate units)and we keep him on a regular check up schedule. Great guy who does great work.

Merritt responded late in the evening to my request for service. He quickly identified the problem and ordered the parts to fix the HVAC unit. He communicated the repair needed and the total estimate for the repair up front and upon completion that is exactly what I was charged. It was an altogether pleasant experience to do business with this company.

Merritt installed a new HVAC. He also installed an HVAC cage to prevent further theft. I was out of town, so we had to do this over the phone. He installed the HVAC and sent me photos of the completed work. Great job.

We have used Merritt Heating and Air for several years for our personal home and rental homes and have always received the highest level of service at a reasonable price. We have always received same day service except for once when our tenants were not available until the next day. The services provided have ranged from servicing units to repairs to replacing a unit. Gary Merritt is very professional and trustworthy. After using several providers with less than acceptable results and outrageous bills, I was thrilled to find someone who delivers what he promises in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to recommend Merritt to anyone.

Gary, came right over and identified the problem and returned a few days later with a new coil.

Gary came out and looked our unit over. He found a defective part that would have caused us problems as soon as the weather turned cold. He also pointed out a return air duct that was to small for the size unit we have so I had him change that to the correct size. He gave me a quote for both items and it seemed like a fair price. He had to order the part and called me after it came in to set up a time to come back and do the work. He was here when he said he would be and did a great job. He cleaned up and took away the old duct and defective parts. He was very professional and did the work in a timely manner.I will use him for all my heating and air needs in the future. If you are trying to find someone that will do a good job at a fair price and is honest then do yourself a favor and call Merritt Heating and Air!
