Excellent! My tenant reported that the dryer stopped working. I gave Nick her number and they coordinated a time for the repair. It happened that Nick had an opening that day. The motor went out and Nick was able to replace it. I am very pleased that I did not have to buy a new dryer! I have had Nick out for other repairs and have been pleased every time.

I explained my washer issue over the phone, owner was very knowledgable and almost knew exactly what was wrong just by my explanation over the phone. He came within an hour and fixed the problem, it took 30 mins, and problem was solved at a very reasonable price!! I would recommend him to everyone for sure!! I think by explaining the make, model #, and explaining exactly what the problem was, he came prepared with right part and ready to fix.

I was extremely happy with the work done by this company. My washing machine was not agitating. Nick was prompt in his his response and was able to come to my house very quickly. He did not require that I be there which was very helpful. He fixed the problem and the washing machine works great. He is a super nice guy - as the attached photo shows, my dog loved him! I would definitely hire him again.

About 3 years ago I had Nick out to repair our refrigerator. He did a great job and I gave him a great review at that time and passed his name along to many. However, this time was very disappointing. I have a Whirlpool Cabrio dryer (barely 3 years old) that was not drying properly, turning off prematurely leaving damp clothes, taking twice as long to dry, etc. I called Nick who told me to run the dryer for a while before he got there, which I did. By the time he arrived the dryer had been going for nearly 3 hours, and he felt heat and said the dryer was fine. He checked our vent, and shortened it, but that was it. I asked him if there was a way to test the machine to see if a part wasn't working properly, and he said it wasn't like a car where you could hook it up for a diagnostic test. Because he shortened the vent, he gave me back the Angie's List coupon for 1/2 off the trip charge and charged the full rate, because he had done some work. He also said there was a discount for cash, but I don't think we received it as it was not noted on the receipt. He also mentioned that my dryer was like the Mercedes Benz of cars, and I don't know if that meant he really didn't how to fix it because it was too new. The next time I went to use the dryer it was worse than before. Then my husband bought a dryer vent cleaning kit, and we cleaned the venting system from the inside and the outside. Didn't get all that much out; dryer still not working properly. My husband took the back off our dryer and found a book for the technician. Apparently you can run a diagnostic on that machine, so I was very disappointed that Nick was not able to help us. We also asked him if he could fix our ice maker on the refrigerator that he had repaired a few years ago, and he said he doesn't fix ice makers. That surprised me. If someone's ice maker broke on their refrigerator and they called him, then he's going to tell you he doesn't fix ice makers? Our refrigerator is 13 years old, so I would have hoped he could at least have helped us with that. This visit was very disappointing. The sad part is that I still don't have a dryer that is working correctly, and I will have no choice but to call in a repair tech from Whirlpool, which will probably cost a small fortune.

I called S&S when I found that my washer was leaking. Nick asked for the make and model number ahead of time so that he would be prepared for the repair. After taking the cover off, he didn't see signs of a leak in any of the usual places. He ran it through a cycle and the machine didn't leak. At that point we thought it to be an issue with the floor drain. Instead of performing unnecessary or costly maintenance, Nick asked if I would watch the machine and see if the problem occurred again. After a couple of weeks, I found the machine leaking again and called Nick. He was able to schedule service that same morning. We ran the machine through its cycle twice, the second time filling the machine with laundry (to capacity) which caused the leak to show itself (note that this is why it wasn't leaking each time I ran the washer, too). Nick was able to take the washer apart and found the underlying problem. The first thought was to repair the machine, but when we saw the extent of the damage, we both agreed that it was time for a new washer (the current washer was over 20 years old). All in all, I thought that Nick was knowledgeable and very thorough. He explained issues and answered any questions that I had. And in the end, he was able to give advice on the selection of a new washer. I would definitely recommend S&S.

I called S & S Appliance Service after reading the positive reviews. I needed someone to check my oven because it was taking a long time to heat up and didn't consistently maintain the correct temperature. Nick responded to my message the same day, asked for my oven model so he could make sure he had the appropriate parts stocked. He came over the following day, diagnosed the problem quickly, replaced the necessary parts (igniter), and checked that my oven heated up correctly in a timely fashion. I appreciated the time Nick took to answer my questions and I will use him again to address future appliance needs.

Nick returned my call and we discussed the possible solutions. I had thought it was the dryer. When he came out at our scheduled time, it was something completely different. He showed me the problem and advised that the fix wouldn't be cost effective and that I should buy a new washer. He only charged me for the service call and gave me a discount. Very helpful and professional.

Work was completed in a very quick time frame. They were very professional while completing the repair and were willing to make adjustments in order to fit my schedule to get this repair completed. Would highly recommend using their services if you are ever in need of a repair. Would definitely use again if he need would arise.

I called shortly after 8:00am and left a message. Nick, the owner and repairman, called back in less than a half hour. Not only could he come out today, but he said he’d be here before noon. He was here just after 10:00. He promptly diagnosed the problem and replaced the hose and the belts (as a preventative measure, which I appreciated). He honored my coupon before I could even present it to him; repairs were reasonably priced. Very pleased with the service and responsiveness. Though I hope I don’t have to call him anytime soon, I certainly will if I have repairs to be done. Highly recommend!

Our dryer, being 13 months old, is 1 month out of warranty (of course -- smh). I thought about calling GE to send a service tech, but if I'm going to pay out-of-pocket anyways, I prefer a local company and individual. I found S&S on Angies List with high marks and gave them a call. The owner, Nick, was very prompt with returning my call and scheduling next day service. He called when he was on his way, and when he arrived, he diagnosed the problem in under a minute! He had the replacement part in his van and fixed it quickly. Dryer works great and the wife is pleased. His pricing was also very reasonable. Thanks, Nick! Would DEFINITELY call him again and recommend him to anyone in the area who is having a problem with a large appliance.

While I didn't like the thought of getting a new washer, it was time. He gave me buying advice with what type of washer to look for that would be long-lasting and cost effective.

They fixed my dryer, they were fine. Price didn't seem out of line. It was a gas clothes dryer. If there was anything negative, I'd be all over it.

Problem was diagnosed quickly. He had the part with him; so no delay in repair time.

Nick responded right away to my voice mail message and made arrangements to come and look at my washing machine the next day. As soon as he opened the washer he knew what the problem was and we discussed the pros and cons of doing the repair vs. just getting a new washer. The price that he quoted didn't scare me as much as I think he thought it would and I asked him to proceed with the repair. The washer was repaired and the dryer was cleaned in a very reasonable amount of time, and for a reasonable amount of money. I would definitely recommend his services.

They must have been having an extremely busy day cause the "quick return call" didn't happen at all in this case. Called and left a message in the morning, followed up 2 times more later in the day and went to voicemail (no message left). Following day still no return call. The overwhelming positive reviews led me to them, but it didn't work out had to find a different company due to the urgency.

I sent pictures of the frost and the model number and he showed up on time with the part that was needed.

Nick responded quickly, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the fan motor. He wasted no time in the repair and followed up with a call the next day. While the fridge was away from the wall he vacuumed the coils and gave me advice on what the cooling settings should be for the freezer and fridge. The cost was very acceptable. I would recommend S&S in a heartbeat.
