Description of Work: We called on Monday to get our dryer repaired and Nick set up a time with us to come and take a look. Nick arrived on time and proceeded to take the dryer apart and quickly diagnose the situation. He had all the parts to fix the problem with him and was done quickly. He is a true professional and we will use him again and highly recommend him to others!

Description of Work: Ice maker in refrigerator was not working well. Repairman diagnosed the problem quickly and gave us a quote. The amount was more than we wanted to spend since we were considering getting a new unit In a few months. He gave us suggestions on the better brands from his experience, which was helpful for our recent purchase of a new unit.

Description of Work: The technican (Nick?)did washing machine maintenace including fixing an inside leaking hose. I would use S & S Appliance Service again.

Description of Work: He checked my washer and unfortunately found it needed a new transmission and advised it would be more costly to repair than replace. He only charged for the service call. I was delighted with his professionalism, his punctuality, his amiable attitude and the service he provided. I will definitely use him again in the future should I need an appliance repairman.

Description of Work: Checked my broken washer. Even though it cost him the repair, recommended I not get it fixed due to the cost of the repair vs. the cost of the washer. How often do you find repair people that honest and looking out for the customer? Did fix my icemaker. Nick is a great guy. Would recommend him to EVERYONE.

Description of Work: After determining a noise coming from the gas dryer was nothing serious, we had Nick disassemble the entire dryer and clean it and change the belt which was showing wear. Also, while he was here we had the washer inlet hoses changed to the metal type. All went very well. Nick is certainly knowledgeable when it comes to large appliances.

Description of Work: Replaced a burned out computer board on my General Electric refrigerator. I placed a call in for service about 9am that morning after I discovered the food had thawed in my freezer. He called me back within the hour and arrived at my home 3 hours earlier than he had originally anticipated. It took him about 5 minutes to diagnose the problem, 5 minutes to replace the computer board, 5 more minutes to complete the payment transaction, and he was on his way. This is the second time I had repair work performed by him, and my first experience with his company was about 15 years ago when he was the only one able to successfully repair my last refrigerator, which was an Amana with a draining defect. There were several times over the past 15 years when I tried to locate him to perform more appliance repair work, but I could not find him. I was so happy when I found him on Angie's List that morning, as I had had several bad experiences with other appliance repair people during those 15 years. I was not surprised to see that he has earned a super service award, as he IS excellent!

Description of Work: After going through a nightmare with Sears, who needed 6 visits to fix my washer while missing 2 of the scheduled appointments, I called Nick at S&S Appliance Service. Nick arrived as promised and completed the job within 30 minutes. This was on 03/20/2013. After Nick left, we discovered that Sears couldn't even attach new water lines correctly. We called Nick again and he is coming back today (03/21/2013) to fix Sears' mistake.

Description of Work: Fast and efficient service. Have used them twice and am very satisfied. First time in October when my dishwasher went out. Then in December when my oven went out. Both visits were completed with parts he had in his truck. Cost was reasonable and I will use S & S again.

Description of Work: S&S Appliance Service was great! Our refrigerator did not work but by the time they got here it started working again. They charge a fee for coming out but waived it. It was difficult to diagnose the problem when it was operating properly. We were prepared to pay him for his time but he refused. Will definitely call him again if it "breaks" again. Very honest and knew what he was talking about.

Description of Work: I had a pipe burst in my bathroom above the kitchen, which flooded the kitchen and basement. The stove/oven was covered with water; I was sure it could not be repaired. The dryer was also making a horrible noise and I needed someone to check it out. I called Nick in the evening, not expecting a return call for at least a day or two, but he did call back within the hour, and came out the very next day. He was punctual, professional, and extremely knowledgable. He told me he would be completely honest about whether my appliances were actually worth repairing or if they would need to be replaced, and he was not only honest but I felt he was completely trustworthy. He was able to fix both and offered me the option of installing an extra part in my oven which made it heat up more quickly and hold the temperature more efficiently. I tend to be somewhat skeptical about appliance repair, having been "burned" more than a few times. However - I would HIGHLY recommend S & S Appliance, and would advise anyone who needs work on a home appliance to give Nick a call.
