The experience was good. They were the cheapest estimate, did a good job and cleaned up well after themselves. I could not ask for anything better. I was very satisfied.

They came in, gave me the estimate, and did exactly what I wanted them to do. They did a good job. I did not want them to haul them away so they just brought them down. Their price was very reasonable.

We chose Lancaster Tree Service based on their prompt response to our inquiry (via their website) and the overall pricing and options provided. The cost was minimal ($35), if we disposed of the grindings ourself (an additional $40); as we have an area of our back yard we use for leaf/grass clipping retention, we decided to handle the remaining grindings ourselves. Initially I have thought there were two stumps to remove (in that we had cut down two trees last fall), but my son must have been able to subsequently remove the majority of one stump. When Landcaster arrived to review/quote the removal of the stumps (2), the estimator only found one. At the time of the quote, they also provided proof of insurance (a nice touch which I didn't have to ask about prior to the work being performed). The other contractor we considered appears to have just driven by the house and noted the sites I had indicated in our initial contact. He didn't inspect the sites and provided a quote in excess of $100 to have two stumps removed. Having to follow-up with this contractor to secure the quote made the choice of Lancaster Tree a "no-brainer" for us. Due to weather, Lancaster indicated that it might be two weeks before they could remove the stump. I was pleasantly surprised when they emailed me the following Friday indicating they would arrive sometime that day to perform the contracted service. They were as good as their word; not only did they remove the stump, but it appears they took care of most of the remaining grindings. I inspected the site after the service and it appears they did a great job. They had to remove a brick border to gain access to the stump, and did so most carefully (and replaced it after they had completed the task). My wife and I were most pleased and would recommend them for tree/stump removal. As I will most likely need to have other trees around the perimeter of our property removed at some point in the future, Lancaster Tree will be my first choice.

The estimate process was effortless and the work was performed as scheduled. The company did all of the required clean up and charged us exactly the amount stated in the estimate.

We had three looming, very tall dead trees close to our house. Lancaster came out, safely removed the trees while other contractors were installing siding just a few feet away, and thoroughly cleaned up their work. Add a few pluses to price and quality for this job! Extra points for electronic quotes and invoicing. If only we knew about this company years ago.

I explainted the whole process in the preceding question. The tree appeared to have been trimmed appropriately without too severe pruning but away from the gutters and the house. They did a good job of keeping track of my order over the months.

Everything went very well...just as planned wit no hitches.

I contacted five tree services to provide an estimate for the above work. All five companies were obtained from Angie's List and had "A" ratings with no negative comments. Only one company (S&S Tree Service) promised to come out but never showed up. The other four came out and provided estimates for the work to be done: Action Tree Service, Blank's Tree Works, Lancaster Tree Service, Mencer Tree Service. I selected Lancaster Tree Service as the best qualified in terms of price, proposal, and customer service. Matt Lancaster came out and gave me a written estimate noting the level of effort and price and a copy of his liability insurance and workers compensation information. None of the others provided the latter insurance information. Matt told me he could have 2 men out in the next 24-48 hrs to complete the work. I suggested that since bad weather was coming in tonight (WED, 1/16), that Friday (1/18) would probably be the best day. We have had 5 days of steady rain totaling 5.5". The next day (THU, 1/17), an additional one-half inches of ice and 4 " of inches of heavy wet snow was added to the mess. On Friday (1/18), three men arrived with chain-saws and completed the work as described in the proposal. They even moved the leaves. The work was completed in approx 90 minutes. Everything was cleaned up.

I called Lancaster Tree Service on December 11, 2012 to obtain an estimate to remove a 60' pine tree, grind its stump, and remove three large limbs from a Maple Tree that overhung my house. An estimator (Sarah) showed up approximately 24 hours later to give me the estimate. I had other estimates but Lancaster Tree was the lowest bid. She told me that they were booked until the end of January but would probably do the work sooner since they did so much work in my area. They called me back on approximately January 7 to say they would be here on January 10 to do the work. They showed up at 10:30 am on January 10 with three trucks and five men to do the work, including Sarah who discussed the work with me and the men. They completed all the work in three hours, which included a half hour lunch break. The following is a list of things that impressed me about them: provided a certificate of liability insurance with the estimate that was dated September 2012; the men worked safely with everyone wearing hard hats, eye, and ear protection; in removing the limbs overhanging the house not one limb hit the roof or house; in removing the pine tree, which was within 10' of my neighbor's fence, not one limb hit the fencing or fell in his yard; everyone was curtious and polite asking me several times if I was happy with the work; especailly impressed how much time was spent cleaning the yard and driveway, including blowing off the roof, gutter, and decks; impressed with how quickly and efficiently they were able to do the work; In short, I don't know how they could have improved the experience.

We used Lancaster Tree and Lawn again to have trees cut down and the stumps ground. They came when they said they would and charged what the estimate indicated. These people are wonderful and do a great job.

They came out at appointed time, give us a written estimate and completed the work withing estimate and on time.

They did what they promised at a very fair price.

This is a great company and a great guy to work with. He always does a good job and we have been very satisfied. I would certainly recommend this company for any tree work. The prices are excellent and he is reliable.

My only complaint was the 4 week waiting list. We were not home when the work was performed. but they did a great job, with no damage to adjacent structures or trees. Neat and professional work with no drama.

Did not get all the dead wood off the trees.

They had the lowest estimated price of any of the five companies I got estimates from. I used two Angie's Big Deals to reduce the price by a couple hundred dollars. Then their office manager graciously offered me a discount for the day when the first crew was supposed to arrive but did not come due to scheduling problems, and I missed a day of work as a result. Their office staff was very responsive to both phone calls and emails throughout the time period they were working here. In general, it was a very positive experience working with Lancaster. The tree was old and split and caused not only us, but our neighbors to be concerned during windstorms such as Knoxville had in 2011. Lancaster had the manpower and equipment to take it out and when they were here, they worked quickly and expertly. There was a delay in removing the large trunk section due to the presence of a beehive in the trunk. We did have a miscommunication on that. It resulted in another week before the trunk was removed. Ideally, the first crew would have seen the bees and eradicated them before they started, or let me know that it was my responsibility to do so. At any rate, it was not a problem for us, just wanted to note that in my opinion, tree service companies should be prepared to deal with bees, hornets, and other insects and animals commonly found in trees. I will definitely use Lancaster for other large tree work in our yard.

Lancaster confirmed the appointment 3 days before and showed up at the agreed upon time. Crew of 4 men with chipper, bobcat, dump truck prepared a path of heavy mats for the bobcat to operate on and logs to fall on. One very skilled climber brought the tree down in sections, with almost all trimmings landing on the mats. All cuttings were hauled away and area cleaned up within 5-6 hours.Crew was professional, courteous and very competent. We were told that the stump woudd be ground later in the week and it was the next day. I would defintely use them again.

Sarah came out, made some recommendations, and submitted an itemized bid. We emailed back the actual jobs we wanted done and got a contract to sign, scan and email back in early September. The actual work was performed the end of October, a week before their initial estimated date. Email communication worked well-- answers to our questions and updates were made in a timely fashion. The crew of 4 arrived at dawn in three large trucks and performed everything as contracted. They were professional, efficient, thorough and helpful. After confirming what we wanted done, they needed neither supervision nor our presence to get the work done. They did a good job cleaning up, leaving only a 4' log per our request, for our neighbors' children to sit on. The crew went above the call of duty--without having to be asked or compensated, they threw away some large plant refuse we didn't have the means to dump. We look forward to using Lancaster Tree Service in the future!

They performed as contracted. They delayed service for several weeks becasuse of heavy storms and higher priority work. They are a good contractor at a good price.

Prompt and courteous. Service person came out beforehand to give estimate, which was very reasonable. On day of service, recieved call. Crew of 4 arrived, did the work, cleaned afterwards, and bill for services was mailed to us next day. Impressive!
