Went nearly flawlessly. And by nearly I mean they could not replace the unit the same day I called :). Great company that does exactly what they say they will do on time and professionally.

Coleman came when they said they would come and did what they said they would do for the agreed-upon price.

From the initial quote and decision that we needed a new furnace to the actual installation, John H. Coleman was nothing but professional and accommodating. Jason was very patient and did not try to push us into a sale after another Heating & A/C company said ours only had a year to go. He had his people take a look and we had a variety of possible replacements quoted. The installation itself was clean, efficient and painless on our part. I would and have recommended them to anyone!

He was very nice and extremely professional. He did not take notes and didn't measure anything. He didn't do any size verifications to see what size unit we may need. He did email us the bid with size of unit recommended. However, he never followed up after emailing the bid and that seemed to be a bit odd. We emailed to see if we qualified for discounts that he was offering on his website and he said no since we were referred from an outside vendor.

Company was contacted after 4pm on Friday for an emergency a/c repair after it was discovered that the condensation line was no longer draining into the yard but into the master bedroom walk-in closet. The company's technician arrived at our home within the hour on a Friday afternoon and quickly accessed the situation to prevent further water damage to the closet. The technician, Chad, was extremely polite, professional, and knowledgeable. The a/c unit is in the front portion of the condo's attic and the outside unit is in the back of the condo with cathedral ceilings in between the two units. My husband made a suggestion to Chad that could he run the new condensation line out the front side of condo and tie the line into the existing gutter drain line. After inspection, Chad agreed that it would be much easier and cheaper to repair the line in that fashion. Chad quickly went to work repairing the line in this method in order to prevent any additional water damage. He performed several water tests by pouring a gallon of water at a time down the lines to insure that the line would properly drain. All tests were successful. The quick response time and professionalism shown by the technician, Chad, led us to also inquire about the annual maintenance program offered by John H. Coleman. After discussing their annual maintenance program with Chad, we decided to purchase it as well. I just happened to still have Angie's List on the computer looking for contractors for the closet repair and thought I remembered a coupon for this service. A silver lining in a terrible day was that John H. Coleman did have a 50% off coupon for the 1st year of their maintenance program for new customers for all Angie's List customers. Saved 50% for that program on the spot. We look forward to doing business with John H. Coleman in the future and would highly recommend them to anyone. Hopefully, Chad will be your technician as well. He was wonderful to work with.

Jason was my original contact and he arrived on time to my home to view my current 20 yr old systems. He asked questions about my needs and what was important to me. He provided me with two quotes for the HVAC system at different price points with slightly different features. I researched the features on the Lennox website and made a decision to go with the higher of the two quotes because it had some features that were important to me. I went with Coleman because1) had received quotes from two other companies that were both higher 2) high rating on Angies list 3) I had a friend that used them and was very pleased with their work. Jason scheduled the install and the times the work crew would be at my home (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) to remove my old equipment and install the new systems. They arrived right on time, were very professional and did a great job! Jason came in the morning to check with me to make sure everything was good and the crew arrived on time. He also came after the work was done to make sure I was satisfied with the job. The guys were actually out of my house by 2:30 and I am so happy with my Lennox system and the hot water heater! I would highly recommend this company. They are reliable, honest and professional! There was no "high pressure" sales pitch as I experienced with one of the other companies I received quotes from.

I have used this company for all HVAC service for approximately thirty years. I have found them very professional and responsive. They are not the most economical in the short run, but overall, I think dependable and reasonable in their fees.

My heater quit working in my home. Called John H. Coleman Co. based on reviews in Angie's List. They were very responsive and showed up the following morning, called before arriving and arrived on time. Pulled up to my home at 8:05 am, quickly identified the problem, and gave an estimate of "about $500.00", well with no heat in February the price has to be paid doesn't it? Technician left to get a part just before 8:30 am and returned just after 9:00 am. Repair was quick and technician submitted a bill for 478.41, less than the estimate, tech left at 9:25 am. Unfortunately I believe I may have been overcharged. The bill showed 1 part for $238.36, labor charge of $218.00, and tax of $22.05. A quick web search for the part # shows it available at Amazon for $109.99 and on the web at hvacdeal.com for $127.88. My fault for believing the reviews, I probably should have gone without heat and found a better price on the part. However, regarding the labor charge of $238.36, I called the company and was told that they have a service call charge of $98.00 which includes 30 minutes of labor, additional labor is charged at $60.00 per hour. My problem was that the technician arrived at my home at 8:05 am and left after the repair was complete just before 9:30am a little less than 1 and 1/2 hours but I was billed for a full 2 and 1/2 hours. This doesn't exclude the time to get a part that probably should have been in the truck. I did call the company to ask why I was charged for an extra hour of labor, company rep. responded that the technician wasn't at work so he would have to talk with him when he comes back. Will update with resolution when available

I found them to be responsive in providing an estimate, and they scheduled the service within about a week. I was impressed with their integrity. I had initially thought I needed to replace two gas furnaces, but they informed me that one unit was still quite serviceable for at least 5 more years. This saved me several thousand dollars, as another company had provided an estimate for replacing the two furnaces without noticing that one unit was not so old. The job was competently carried out. About two months later, I needed some questions answered. However, two phone messages were left unanswered. This did not sit well with me.

Went great. They arrived as scheduled and went right to work. This is the first inspection since we bought the house, and I didn't expect problems because the furnace is just a couple of years old. He confirmed that everything looked very good. One thing they were particularly helpful about was the filter system. I have always had furnaces with filters inside the furnace where the cold air return comes in, but there had never been a filter inside this furnace because the condensate line was installed right across the panel opening. I expected problems because of this, but they patiently explained that this furnace had filters under the cold air return vents (2 upstairs, 1 downstairs) instead of inside the furnace. And no extra charge for the education!

The appointment was scheduled for 1pm and the gentleman showed up right at 1pm. He was very courteous, professional, friendly and helpful in determining our needs and what we wanted done. He thoroughly checked the gas furnace and noted that it was operating at peak efficiency. He also changed out our thermostat to a better one which definitely keeps a constant set temp in the house. He explained all of the features of the new thermostat and asked if we had any questions. This is definitely a company I trust to keep me warm in the winter and cool in the summer and at peak performance.

We used an Angie's List coupon to purchase a ComfortCare Agreement that entitled us to have our units inspected in the Fall and Spring. The technician (Reil) arrived on time and inspected both of our gas-fired units. Since this is our first home with gas heat, we had a number of questions about the way our system operated. Reil was very helpful in answering our questions and describing what he was doing in checking our system. We were very pleased with the professional service that we received.

They are excellent. I would definitely use them again in the future.

They were very thorough. He went into the attic, checked all of the filters, wires, etc. and I even had the owner come out and give me an estimate for installing a new unit upstairs as well. He was very professional and honest and did not try to upsell me things I did not need. I would definately use them again.

Initially, I consulted with this company for solutions about the terrible humidity in my home since installation of my new heating and air conditioning system in 2010 by another mechanical contractor, Karns Mechanical. Since installation of the new equipment, humidity levels during summer in my home were measured in excess of 80% humidity both upstairs and downstairs. Initially on the phone, this company suspected that my heating and air conditioning system was too big for my home size and heating and air conditioning needs. On inspection of the equipment in my home, this contractor immediately pointed out to me a dangerous condition. In non-conformance of code, the original installer of my equipment had not installed a sleeve to protect the flexgo line carrying gas to my furnace from damage caused by rubbing of the flexgo line against the wall of the furnace. I immediately called Knox County government who reinspected the work performed by the original contractor and issued me a "rejected" inspection report on March 1, 2012, for work originally "inspected" by county government in 2010. I hired this company to address deficiencies cited in the Knox County inspection report and to address my humidity problems. The technicians corrected the dangerous flexgo line, replaced and reconfigured the existing condensate line, and calibrated my existing equipment from the default settings left by the original contractor to settings appropriate to my home size. This company started their evaluation by measuring my home space and performing calculations to assess my heating and air conditioning needs, something never done by my original contractor. I avoided a catastrophe and learned the correct way to make heating and air conditioning assessments by selecting this contractor.

They did a good job. They are responsive and prompt. They really know what they are doing. I would recommend them. I've been using them for ten years and I will continue to use their services in the future.
