it went very well. Workmen on both jobs went about their work carefully and in good order. workmen and managers were polite and answered my questions and concerns without any problems. They are customer oriented. I would use them again and recommend them highly.

They came when they said they would. Had appropriate parts with them and completed the repair in a minimal amount of time.

I called Mark and left a message, and he got back to me. Since there was really bad storm in the area around that same time I expected his company to be really busy addressing a flood of calls. I did have to wait a really long time to get the door fixed, and I was frustrated at the pace of things once or twice (including the length of time it took to get me an estimate), but once they got all of the quotes and glass order squared away, it was smooth sailing. They did an excellent job with the repair. I would recommend them to anyone else who needs similar work done.

I picked this company because of the many great reports here on Angie's list, here's yet another one. First off, kudos to Angie;s List, this is the 3rd time relying on the information submitted by actual customers to this site, and every experience has been great. CRC, from day 1, has been very professional. I watched them work a good bit of the first day of the job, and I've got to say I'm very impressed with the whole crew of 6 that came. I'm used to seeing maybe 3 out of a crew of 6 actually working, but with this crew, everyone hustled. This speaks highly for the individual workers, to have an excellent work ethic, but also for the owner and management to acquire an excellent crew. The skill and workmanship were excellent, especially comparing to the work that has been done in my neighborhood from the "storm chasers". From other companies I've watched in the neighborhood, I witnessed incomplete old roof removal, poor workmanship, hideous flashing around chimneys, and unprofessional behavior. Not the case with CRC, I found nothing lacking in their work. They mentioned about several of the people in the company who were certified from the roofing material company (Certainteed). I thought this was just something that sounded good but didn't really mean anything, but after doing some research, I found that CertainTeed is very serious about their materials being installed correctly, and that they don't just simply hand out certifications. This meant that CRC could offer an additional 10 years to the warranty at no extra charge. The new roof started with a bonus, the underlayment. While all others in the neighborhood used felt paper for the underlayment, Certainteed suggests something much better...a tarp like product for the underlayment. This enabled Certainteed to offer the extra 10 years to the warranty. They also installed around 3 times the ridge vents than I originally had. I cannot believe how much better my house looks with this new roof, having had the minimal 3 tab shingles, upgrading to dimensional shingles. CRC, while they have a roofing division, also to anything that needs to be done around the house. They will be replacing the siding, gutters, some windows and some shutters, in addition to some indoor water damage to the plaster ceiling and walls. I will report on my experience with those projects when they are finished. I highly recommend this company.

He came out as scheduled, reviewed the situation,gave me an estimated price and time to complete. All of this was satisfactory to us and we authorized the work to be done. He set to work and all leaks were repaired/resolved. We have used this company before and we will surely call them again should the need arise.

I called to get them to come out to give me an estimate to replace my roof and take care of the water damage to the inside of my house. I got their name off Angie's list and they sounded perfect. The girl that answered the phone said" well let me tell you right off that it will be at least 2 weeks before they will call you back...do you still want to leave your phone number?" I did not leave my phone number. Too bad...they sounded like they would do a good job.

It took them 2 weeks to respond to my call. I made a appointment with Mark. On the day of the appointment he did not arrive at the appointed time. I called him. After giving some excuses as to why he wasn't there, he arrived at my home about an 1 1/2 hours later. We did a complete walk thru of the home. The house would be completely renovated, kitchen gutted, paint throughout the house,, ceilings repaired from rain damage, new roof, new driveway, new deck, new french doors, gutting and updating bathrooms, etc. I provided him with a detailed listing of what I wanted, provided my name, address, and email address. I asked him how long it would be before I would get the estimate and Mark stated it would be less than a week. It's been almost 4 weeks now and I haven't heard from him. I have since hired someone/company more reliable (so far).. I would not recommend Custom Renovations. They don't keep their word.

Mark scheduled and arrived to assess the area for drainage. A week later he emailed the proposal for $6300. The other estimates have ranged from 2800 - 3700 for the same work so I don't understand the high price. He has been out previously for other estimates which were again outrageously high. From other reviews it sounds like his company is top notch, if you can afford it.

The guy who came out to give us an estimate was a really fine guy. He did a very thorough job of walking around the house and making all the measurements that he had to do in order to be able to provide us with an estimate. Their estimate was extremely professional. It was itemized and very thorough. I was greatly impressed. The thing that put us off a little bit is that their total was quite a bit higher than the company with whom we were equally impressed, but whose total was quite a bit less. Custom Renovations Company is great, but they were just more expensive. They did a great job of inspecting the house and provided us a very detailed estimate so that part of it was very good. Their cost was quite a bit higher than we were willing to pay. I would absolutely use their service in the future.

I had some estimates done by two or three different companies due to hail storm damage but I haven't had any work done by them. I had called four different companies for quote and they were the first one to actually come out and do a quote. I found them to be very professional and they were very knowledgeable of construction. They had a lot of experience prior to coming out. The gentlemen who came knew significantly more than I knew about construction business as I had worked in it for ten or twelve years. They were very impressive.

Mark had his carpenter crew out the day after I signed the contract. I had waited two months on another company to start and never did, which caused me precious 'okay' weather days. I was relieved that CR showed up because I was under a deadline or would lose my house insurance. The carpenters were top notch. They replaced a small side of where two rooflines meet. It wasn't but 15 boards or so, but the angles were complex. They also totally replaced the wood on a dormer that had rotted. Again, meticulous work and attention to detail. When they took down the gutters that replaced any wood that was rotted. I have about 15 windows which they removed the old and crumbling glazing and reglazed. The glazing is rather messy in spots and has shrunk back from the wood which may be letting in moisture. This may have been due to the temperature when the work was done. They scraped the house and another crew did the painting painting. The contract had mentioned that they would pressure wash also, but Mark said that due to the extreme cold and dampness of the weather, it would have never dried, so they did not do that. I do not feel that the painters were as detail oriented as the carpenters, for instance they got paint on the stone front of the house when spraying the fascia, but it wasn't too bad. Again, I realize that I was under a deadline to get this done, but I was very surprised to see the guys painting when there was literally snow melting off of the roof and running down the side of the house. I called Mark that very cold and damp day and he assured me it was okay to paint that day. There were a few spots a week later where the paint just flaked off. I called Mark and they came back and touched up those areas. I also asked them to come back because the windows were painted shut and I could not open them from the inside and I believe they have fixed that issue. They rehung my gutters and storm windows. It is now four months later and there are several spots where the paint is bubbling up and places where the paint comes off because it was attached to old paint that wasn't scrapped or attached to dirt/mildew. Again, some of this could be due to the weather conditions, some of it I believe would not have happened with better scrapping and more attention to detail. I have to give it to Mark though, he came out to fix things when I have asked and he is responsive.

Our roof was one that received hail damage in the April 2011 storms. Mark Steck, the owner, gave us a written estimate of the work that we needed and talked with us about any improvements that we could consider. We wound up adding 2 attic fans which will assist in venting the heat from the attic during the hot summers. Mr. Steck also assisted in providing any answers that our insurance company had which eased the claims process immensely. The company can also do gutter repair, including gutter guards, if desired, which we had to replace due to storm damage. The work was done quickly over 2 days which involved removing the old roof along with the installation of the new. The employees wound up staying later than normal to get the job completed as our schedule had us leaving town and Mark wanted everything to be done so there would be no worries on our part. They cleaned up well and made sure to use a magnet to gather all nails! And they also took care of cleaning the gutters for us during the roof and gutter guard replacement. All of the workers were very professional and polite, and the foreman, Jason, made extra efforts to make sure all was satisfactory.

He gave a quote and thats it. I would use him in the future.

They always arrived on time, took great precaution to limit the amount of drywall dust spread around, and were very considerate of the 5 dogs we had to keep out of their way. We could not have asked for a more professional and courteous work team. It was very impressive to see two men removed the entire chimney/fireplace in 2 days! They installed a skylight approx where the chimney had been and matched the roof shingles that had to be replaced. They even loaded some of the brick into buckets because my husband wanted to re-use them in a fire pit. Removing the popcorn ceiling was not easy! They took the time to think of the best way to do the job, and ended up sanding, skimming and re-sanding. They offered to come back at no charge if we noticed spots on the ceiling that were not perfect. Very good job. We are enjoying our new living room! The whole thing only took 2 weeks.

It went very well. I believe the owner came up with good solutions to my issues. The workers were very polite and professional. They did as neat a job as they could and my water issues should be fixed. The owner came by to check on the work which I thought was very respectable. I definitely would recommend this company to others . I am very please with the results.

Water was leaking into our walk-out basement. They identified the possible leak locations and sealed these areas (primarily around a fireplace extension on the first floor). I was afraid it would take a few attempts to fix the problem, since the builder had been out several times and had been unable to find and fix the leak. However, it has rained several times since and apparently CRC fixed the problem on the first try.

Overall, the project went OK; my biggest issue with CCR is their high pricing. I thought the job as described above was high priced at the time but CCR could do it when I needed it done and I did not have time to get comps- they finished on time but needed to come back to rework. I chose CCR based on the high rating on Angieslist.com. Overall quality was OK after rework. Mr. Steck, the owner, shows up when he says, is a nice guy, and is responsive and professional - he is well versed in many aspects of construction and remodeling. I subsequently gave CCR an opportunity to bid more jobs and here is how they compared. Bathroom tile and shower pan work (~500 SF total tile), CCR bid ~$10,000 PLUS the cost of tile, my actual cost: $4800, tile INCLUDED; Roof replacement, CCR bid: ~$12,000, 2 other bids for roof came in at $10,100 and $10,200; concrete/structural repair, CCR bid: $2500, my actual cost: $800. Again, I do think CCR is capable and competent for many things, but their pricing is consistently grossly excessive.

The owner came out within a few days of our first call, and went over everything relevant to the job. The work was done on a day soon after that, as arranged by a phone call. The men who did the work set right to it, working steadily until completion. Their only pauses were to answer our occasional questions or for our inspection when a stage was completed. Their attitudes were excellent, and they took care to avoid unnecessary mess and to clean up what little there was when they were done. The price of the job was reasonable. They'll be at the top of my list if I need a similar repair or remodeling job done in the future.

The process was good and I may use their services in future.

It was easy to set up the first meeting. Mark very carefully LISTENED to my concerns; my basement recently had flooded with 35" of standing water and I wanted options as to how to avoid this in the future.. He explained the many changes that could be made and within a week sent me a detailed estimate of each project. We agreed to start with one of them. It took a few weeks for him to schedule the work, but because many people in the area have had recent flooding problems, his company has been very busy. He came out once more before the work day to review what he would be doing to make sure I understood and agreed. I gave him a deposit (a little more than 50%). He could not make it the day he intended but left me a message telling me the work would be done the next day. He arrived with two employees and spent most of the day overseeing them. He left before the project was completed and came back the following day to be certain that both he and I were satisfied. I offered to pay for the extra work that had been done, but he would not accept it. I feel very confident that if I have any concerns, questions or problems that he will be out to help me. I will definitely be hiring his company again to do more work waterproofing my basement.

Read on Angies list that the company was reliable. Found that to be correct and then some. The owner gave us an estimate on three different ways we could go. when we made a choice on the size of gutters etc..they scheduled a install date. A group of three demo men came by and removed the gutters...we had ask that the longest piece and two down spouts be left on site so we could use them on a building we are constructing....the rest was hauled off. They were careful to not leave gutter nails on the lawn and did not disturb any of my plants. The next day the contractor came to replace the gutters. He was very nice and was careful to work with us regarding our dog who is fenced in on part of where he needed to work.. He was thoughtful and did a great job. It was supposed to storm the night after the gutters were finished and he told us that if there were any problems to let him know and he would be right back out to ajust the gutters. He also told my husband that when he releveled the wooded deck (porch)he would come back and reajust the gutters. We have been very pleased with the service and professtionalism of this company. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN AND RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
