This is the second time we've had Custom Renovations Company do major home repairs. Mark Steck was easy to work with. He readily understood our needs, concerns and specific requirements. Work was done in a timely manner. A very meticulous worker, he wasted no time in getting the job done.

contractor arrived on day specified, installed guttering and downspouts as required, cleaned site prior to leaving. work was performed as quoted and in time frame allowed. Workmanship was excellent. We are very satisfied with the companies performance and professionalism.

We had some scheduling issues in the beginning but once things got started, installation was complete within 4 days.

We are pleased with the results of Mark's work. We weren't too concerned about time for the project or appointments. We appreciated Mark scheduling our project quickly after our initial phone call. Mark would come 15-20 minutes later than originally stated which didn't affect us too much and the project lasted a few hours longer than estimated. He did need to replace 7' of fascia which added to the length of he job. Overall, we are pleased with his work and are grateful for our new gutters!

As usual his work was very professional. He is very knowledgable and confident in what he does. This is the third time we have had him and we would certainly have him again.

I was very impressed with Custom Renovations. The guttering was installed in about 8 hours with 3 men and it was obvious they knew what they were doing. Six inch (6") guttering was used, which is much better that what you normally see on homes. This allows all the water to drain quickly and adequately from the home. Mark Steck is polite, listened to my requests and followed them. After the work was complete, the guttering looks like new trim on the house. I would recommend them to anyone for this service.

This is the 2nd time we've used Custom Renovations Company for our home in Knoxville and once again the quality of Marks work is exceptional. He's really busy so it may take a bit to get a quote. If you're looking for quality workmanship, it's worth the wait. We're using Mark again to replace a roof for our cabin in Gatlinburg in a few weeks because we know it will be done right.

Mark did a great job renovating my basement and installing electric outlets and various handyman jobs. He also tackled some big projects like a deck/ramp and a brick hard scape walkway. The timeline went a little longer than estimated, but this was partially due to extras that my wife and I added along the way. Mark and his crew are very professional and courteous, and I never had a problem with their performance, conduct, or cleanup. His estimated quote stayed true till the end, so I knew exactly the cost to expect. He is also very good at making suggestions for what would look/ work the best. You definitely get what you pay for!

Went great. They performed the work while we away on vacation and when we arrived home everything was completed and house was back in order.

Fast, clean, beautiful job. Details all covered, screws, peaks, valleys, drainage ways all finished and where they're supposed to be. Doesn't look like we'll have to test the warranty, but rain & snow will tell for sure. Neat work.

Mark and his crew waited a few days until they were certain rain would not cause problems. They arrived early in the morning, removed the old roofing layer, replaced all of the shingles, replaced roofing felt paper with Palisades synthetic underlayment paper, replaced flashings, all plumbing vent roof boot fastenings and ridge vents. Installed Winter Guard ice and water shields at all valleys, wall/chimney areas, low slope areas and roof pipes. Installed Certain Teed Swift Start starter shingles to the roof perimeter to increase wind warranty. Installed ridge hip and cap shingles and replaced the chimney flashing. Then, they cleaned up all of the old shingles and felt paper, swept the porch and driveway, and finished the day by gathering nails and other bits of metal by sweeping the yard with a huge magnet. The whole roof job was finished in one day. Mark took photos of the roof to show me what they did. He and his crew came back several days later, (it rained in the meantime) and replaced the gutters, downspouts and installed leaf guards. They also replaced some interior door slabs with solid pine, 6-panel doors, hung them and shaved them as needed to open and close smoothly and then painted them beautifully with no drips or drops. In short, they did their usual, outstanding job. We have contracted with CRC five or six times over the past ten years. In every case we were impressed with the quality of their work. Mark Steck not only did what we asked, he also identified a number of sub-standard, dangerous situations of which we were unaware. He explained the situations, told us of possible remedies, and let us verify and decide what we wanted to do. Since we discovered Custom Renovations Company about ten years ago, we have always contracted with them for all of our home repairs and remodeling. We've been happy with the results every time.

Mark and his team deliver yet again! Top notch professionalism and timely responses. After some searching they were able to find brick matching our home and his team arrived early each day and worked consistently. We will gladly use his services again as this is the third job he has completed for us and we are extremely happy.

It went very well. They were very busy because it was a high volume season for this type of work. They squeezed me anyway in and even worked on a Saturday to have the job finished in 2 days. It was less than 2 weeks from the time I placed the first call until the job was complete. They were very helpful and did high quality work. I had neighbors stop to compliment the way the house and deck looked after they were finished.

Usual excellent work. These guys are expensive but they're good. You get your money's worth.

The work was performed as agreed upon. The project turned out to be much more work than expected. CRC did not request additional payment for the extra time required. They did what they said they would for the price they said they would do it. They did a great job. This is the second time I have used Mark and his team. I will use them again.

My time is valuable and so is yours. In my experience with this vendor, that is not a high priority for them. I called and explained what I needed which is a simple install of a roof vent for my upstairs bathroom exhaust fan. I called on Thursday 7/24 and discussed the need with them. They were scheduled to come out and provide a quote at 3 PM on Friday 7/25. I was also told the actual installation would be easy to fit into their current work schedule for Monday or Tuesday of the coming week. I took part of my day off from work and was at home by 2:30 PM on Friday. 3 PM came and went, and by 4 PM I called them again and left a message on their voice mail simply reminding them of the appointment. It's now Sunday 7/27, they never returned my call, and I don't expect them to. It's unfortunate that Angie's list does not weigh reviews where no work was accomplished as heavily as those where work was completed. There are several other reviews for this vendor with similar experiences to mine, so in my opinion not showing up when scheduled seems to be a common practice for them. I will call another service provider from Angie's List on Monday and hopefully find someone to meet my needs. As a new user on Angie's List, my first experience with one of the highly rated providers from the list is not providing me with a good feeling about their review system.

They came when they said they would. I felt like I have a long standing relationship with them. They have responded when I needed them. They're not the least expensive.

These activities were completed while I was not living there, but was supervised by my daughters. They were very easy to work with and always delivered on changes as the project went along. I ended up with an overall quality product I will be pleased with for many years to come!

I had a somewhat complex guttering system on my house that I wanted replaced with upgrades. I talked to several of the other top gutter providers in the area. It took several months for me to finally select CRC. Because CRC is popular on AL, once we agreed on the work, it took them a few months to get to me - which I understand and accept. While they were doing the work, they were very polite and professional. However, I later discovered that several of the newly installed gutters were not sloped correctly. With some minor delays, CRC came back out at no charge and fixed this problem. The reason given for the improper installation was that the crew helper was a short timer. They said this helper was no longer employed by them. Anyway, I am more than reasonably happy with this gutter installation. I would recommend CRC as - in my view - THE gutter installer to go to in the area for complex gutter work. Note: if you care about the thickness of the aluminum sheeting used in constructing the gutters, I strongly advise that you ask to measure a sample of the material yourself. Apparently, the terms "medium gauge" and "heavy gauge" can sometimes overlap. I got the heavier 0.032" thick aluminum material. Also watch out for colors of the aluminum rolls for making the gutters varying somewhat between manufacturers. One supplier's "ivory" or "almond" may be more like another supplier's "willow," etc. Be sure to ask for an actual sample of the aluminum sheet for checking the color. The printed paper color cards are a poor substitute for seeing the paint color actually on the metal.

He started in september and was over a couple weeks ago to do touch up work. It shouldnt take 9 months and keeps dragging on and on. I am just going to have to do this myself. I spent $18,000 plus and I expected to get my money worth. I think he just got the cheapest crew he could get.

A severe storm brought down a neighbors' tree on my house and car, uprooted the heat pump, which destroyed the sheet metal over the trunk lines, tore the guttering from the side of the house and, possibly damaged the roof. On Thursday, 6/12/14, I called and spoke with Mark Steck, owner. He said he was doing work in my area and would be able to come by on Friday, 6/13/14. I told him I'd be home by 11:30am. He said he'd be by between 12:30pm & 1pm. The times passed. Two o'clock came and went. At 2:10pm, Mr. Steck called to say he had been delayed on a job by the rain and was it OK with me that he come by at 5:30. I told him I wished I had heard from him sooner, as I needed to do grocery shopping. I OK'd his coming at 5:30 and thought I'd go across the street to work on some dirty yard work I had started for a neighbor. Instead, I went grocery shopping. I pulled into my driveway at 5:10pm. There was no business card in the door; there was no telephone message waiting; no one ever came by or called again. I don't know how this guy manages to stay in business, let alone have a business, if he cannot show up for an estimate of repairs. I need someone who can take care of everything - not have to call 3 different businesses.
