The guys came out and started the removal/installation on time the day. It was wet outside so any time they needed to come inside to do work they wore shoe covers. The removed the old unit and set it aside. Installation of the new unit took several hours as was expected but they seemed to work diligently. They clarified where I wanted the inside unit in my crawlspace and when they saw a problem with it they made the small necessary changes required to make it work. I think there were 4 guys on the job. Mostly 2 outside and 2 under the house. The one guy under the house never came in, keeping the dirt out, which I appreciated. After the job was done, one of the installers explained the control pad's functions to me and set it up the first time. Outside, the guys cleaned up where they worked and loaded up the old unit. They even installed a piece of sheet metal over the hole created by removing the package unit to prevent any pests from entering explaining that was a temporary fix. (I knew this was going to be the case) One problem we had was there needed to be a decor plate installed and they didn't have one with them and it took 2-3 weeks to get it installed. The main problem was the salesman wrote down the wrong model number on the original invoice. When I called him about it he fixed it and sent out a new invoice. Problem was he didn't just copy the other information over, he changed it. This caused some confusion when the installers came out and I was saying one thing and their invoice was saying another. It was easily worked out but it should have never happened. The installers get an A - salesman gets a D.

City Heat and Air installed my two unit HVAC/Gas Furnace ~20 (1995) and has been servicing it since. They have usually been reasonable responsive and most of the technicians have been well qualified. A couple of years ago they installed a replacement for our upstairs unit. This work was done well without any problems. I had a few problems getting answers to how to run the system afterwards in order to keep the humidity at a reasonable level. Eventually I figured it our by myself. For a new house we have been building I asked them for a bid. They were, however, 20% more expensive than for a comparable system from another vendor. Nevertheless, I will recommend City Heat and Air, since they did service me well for 20 years.

The experience was excellent. They did a good job and did it very speedily. They came back and retested everything.

They had such a high price that I didn't go with them. Everything else with them was good, though. I was actually supposed to get quote from him on different things, and he only gave me a quote for one thing. I didn't even get back with him about it because he gave me such a high price on the quote he did give me.

We had our furnace cut out a few years ago. We had another service come in and they told us couldn't fix it. But City Heating & Air came in and fixed it. It was a very cold day and they were here within the same day.

My technician was John. Being new to Maryville and this type of HVAC system, I had many questions. My foremost problem was being able to close the little door/cover which has to be removed to change the filter. John patiently showed me the little tabs and how they worked and then had me do it twice myself so I could handle it. Since the unit came with the home I purchased, and City was the installer, the warranty also transferred to me as well. I am covered for 10 years parts and labor which no one ever told me and I am grateful City Heat and Air was so honest because this is definitely an added bonus.. The actual cost of the visit was $139.00 which covers the pre-summer AC maintenance as well. I also bought a new filter for $39.00 , not because I needed one, just for months ahead. John explained the emergency 24 hour call service City provides for its customers and made note of the parts/labor warranty for future technicians should I have an issue. Overall I could not be more pleased and am extremely satisfied with my experience with City.

I have been using them for almost four years. They are knowledgeable, quick to respond, and reasonably priced. They are wonderful!

HEP installed a new Carrier 16 SEER Hi Efficient Duo Fuel HVAC system in our home. The work was poorly done, shoddy, incompetent with lazy, poorly trained, bad attitude employees. The job was never completed with ducts not hooked up but lied about, the air handler put together wrong, code violations, no insulation and ducts not even taped together and some laying on the ground in our crawl space. Last count we know of at 8 employees from HEP that have either been fired our quit including the owners son that have worked on our job. For the last year we have been heating and cooling the outside with no air in our home forcing us to have to use space heaters and not having AC until City saved us. We called 4 companies to see if they would fix the HEP disaster. They all remarked that HEP and Hiller are the two worst companies in Knoxville/Maryville. The different companies, all reputable and on Angie's list gave us bids and we chose City Heating and Air. Ironically, 2 HVAC companies told us that City installed the HVAC system in the HEP owners house, amazing. Mr. Frankie Sexton arrived promptly from City to inspect our house and he was excellent. He crawled under the house, saw the pictures and even took more of the unattached duct work, saw poorly installed other ducts, noticed the Carrier unit had some code violations. City is a partner with TVA Energy Star and adhere to the highest code for installation. HEP doesn't. He noticed we needed dampers and had supply lines that were not installed correctly, a large plenum to nowhere that lost all static pressure to the registers and general sloppy installation work including our gas line not installed correctly. Mr. Sexton stated City had two excellent employees that could fix every discrepancy to the highest standards of professionalism and our unit would be safe, efficient and we would be happy because they stand behind their work. Mr. Danny Berry and Mr. Daniel Berry, father and son were the men that worked on our problems. Simply stated they were exceptionally excellent. They ripped the entire unit apart and removed all the unattached, torn and badly installed flex ducts. They completely changed the handler, installed dampers, rerouted the air return with new insulation, used TVA approved tape on the seals, replaced all the masking, dug out dirt under the house to install metal ducts nailed and screwed to all the registers in the house, fixed the code problems, fixed the gas line and routed new supply lines off off the main plenum to give us static pressure and high air flow throughout the house. They just worked and rarely stopped except to drink coffee or have a cold drink. This is a high caliber family with years of experience and conduct themselves like Mr. Sexton at the highest order of integrity. We are very lucky to have found them. I took hundreds of pictures of their work. When they left our crawl space, cellar, work area, and yard was left better than they found them, clean with everything working. We now have strong airflow, our heat and air is no longer being pumped outside and our unit is very quiet and efficient. Probably the best job we have ever encountered. City was excellent, fairly priced and a pleasure to work with.

It was all very good. They did a good job and seemed to know what they were doing. I decided to use them after hearing word of mouth references and reading reviews on Angie's List.

Quick diagnosis - fortunately parts still under warranty. Weekend / Holiday posed some challenges but obtained new parts and replaced quickly. Worked well with warranty folks - no hassles for me.

I was a little unhappy with them. I just felt like they were selling me over. City Heating and Air, I had been using them and as it turns out, they were because when this guy did the maintenance he said, "I just worked on your Brookstone." I said, "What are you talking about? That's a Carrier unit." He said, "No ma'am, it's not. It's a builder-grade compressore replaced by City Heating and Air." I told him I had want to replace it with a Carrier and I didn't get that. We were using them for three or four years and when he told me that about a week and a half ago, I was furious but there's nothing I can do because that happened about three or four years ago when we had to replace the other compressor and they put a lesser unit in - a builder grade than what I asked for. I will not use them again. I just felt when he was out here, you know when somebody talks really fast you feel like they have to sell the goods, it didn't feel comfortable. We went ahead with it and I though, "I'm not having them back out." It just didn't feel good. It just they were not leveling with us and it wasn't just me, it was my husband too.

Called on Thursday. Mark came out on Friday May 8th and he said it was either the fan motor or circuit board had to order the parts. I called them Monday and they said the parts would be in Tuesday or Wednesday. The parts arrived and they came back on Wednesday. The new motor burned up and they had to order the part again. Not sure what happened to the first motor but they did give a discount because they had to order it again and come back to fix it which was nice. Came back on Friday and replaced the fan motor and circuit board. They do not tell you morning or afternoon but they do call before they come out. Mark the tech was nice and did a good job. I called the office 3 times and each time the girl that I spoke to was very helpful and friendly.

They fixed the duct work in my home and did a decent job on this repair. However, the other man who came to work on my air conditioner told me that it was a broken thermostat, he came back several times to repair the job, adding cost to the job when he would return to do the work, I asked the company to not send this man back to my house to work on my air condition unit. When I addressed this issue with two other workers, they kind of laughed and chuckled and brushed it off. This is why I chose to go with another service provider.

Everything went very well. They came prepared to do the work with all needed supplies on hand. They asked a few questions and we're off to work. It did not take them too long to complete the task. I am very happy with their work! And best of all it was high quality work at a low price.

Their maintenance plan covers a summer and fall service.

Mike responded timely to my request for an estimate. Mike is not pushy or unprofessional. He gave me 3 quotes and I went with the middle quote. He let me decide without any high pressure. They arrived on time for the installation and Jacob introduced himself and let me know what was going on. He was very patient in answering all my questions and showed me how to operate the new programmable thermostat. I was treated with respect. This company was highly recommended by one of my co-workers. One of my sons has an old HVAC system and I would recommend this company to him. My new system runs great. the weather recently has been hot and humid and my home is cooling nicely. My home since I have lived in it, has never cooled this well. that was my main reason for the HVAC replacement was the AC, My dog is double coated and does not do well in heat. It is such a relief to come home from work and to find my home cool and comfortable. Thanks for a job well done.

After checking with several companies, City Heating and Air was the only company who could replace our unit prior to Christmas. In fact, the company president called us directly, and had a crew out the same day we called to do the work. I can't thank them or praise them enough for their professionalism and compassion. They truly put their customers first. I would have no hesitation recommending them to others. City Heating and Air is now our company of choice for our HVAC needs.

Now that's service. Very professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend them and use them again!

We were without heat during this very cold period, however, the technician was unable to correct the problem, which ultimately required a new unit to be installed.

City Heating & Air was quick to provide an estimate. Mike was professional, answered all my questions and provided a good range of options. He wasn't a high-pressure sales guy and even told me to just wait for my upstairs unit to go out before spending the money to replace it. I'm fond of companies that are willing to tell you when you should not spend money. The replacement was scheduled quickly and the work was done on time. They showed up early in the morning and were done by about noon. The technicians were polite, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Overall I'm very happy with the unit and would definitely use City Heating & Air in the future.

It went well, he checked my duct work to see if it needed cleaning and all was ok. My home was not in need of repair or cleaning at this time. They will return in the spring to check my A/C unit. The man who came to my home was professional, listened to my concerns of noticing more dust. He explained what he thought was the reason and gave me suggestions. I am glad that I contracted them to come back to my home. He also shared information on other products that this company carries that I had at my last home and am looking into the possibility of adding some of their products to my unit.

We had a TVA 'energy right' inspection of our 1992 home. (we bought the house in 1998). The TVA inspector found numerous duct leaks. I looked on Angie's list and City Heat and Air had a good score, so I went with them. They did a fabulous job from beginning to end. The job ended up being much longer than anticipated due to the poor condition of our duct work. I offered to pay extra since the job was so extensive, but City said, 'no, we are going to stick with our quote, since our reputation is on the line'. I will be calling City to perform my routine HVAC spring/fall maintenance as well.

They take care of everything for me. I called them and they showed up within a day or 2. I’m on their plan so that if I have a problem, they’ll show up within 24 hours.
