They're very nice people. They did an excellent job fixing the furniture. One of the pieces was in the basement for 20 years and they made it look like new.

Firstly, I think that the price was overly expensive, esp. for this area - 4th largest city in the state. The touch-up price seemed more in line with what was done. I picked this establishment through Angie's List, though the owner, Charlie, didn't seem to be aware of or impressed by Angie's List when I told him how I had found his business. It was also listed that he gives a senior discount but when I asked him about it, he said 'no' that he didn't and that I shouldn't believe everything that I read. The dresser was picked up 2/15/11 and I was told that it would be ready in 2 weeks. I also asked for a written estimate after reading comments by other customers. After 3 weeks, I called to ask about the staus of the dresser (no one had called me to say there would be a delay) and was told 'next week' by Charlie. At 5 weeks, 3/23/11, I called again and was told Charlie wasn't there that day and I left a message asking for him to call me. The next afternoon, I called back since I had not received a return call from Charlie. He said that the dresser's finish was difficult to match and the burn marks difficult to get out. We set a delivery date of 4/1/11 and they did deliver on that date - over six weeks from the pick-up date. Tom, the delivery person, took my credit card to his truck to call in the number. I didn't like my credit card going out of my sight. I had asked Charlie on 3/24/11 about how much he thought the price would come to and he said about $500. so I was surprised when the price came to $700. - just the estimated price they had set in the first place. The workmanship on the dresser was quite good and we were very satisfied as well as with the other refinisher, Emad, who came 3 days later to touch up the other pieces of the set. When making the date with Emad, he neglected to tell me that there was a minimum of $100. service charge. I had asked Emad to come out and to give us an estimate - no mention of a minimum was mentioned. The white-wash paint was a good match. Would we use C&S Refinishing again? I answered 'yes' reluctently - Angie's List should give the option of 'maybe.' I would want to look and ask around before using this company again because of its lack of professional customer service and pricing. We'll have to wait and see if the refinishing holds up over time. I also contacted the BBB about C&S and their Reliability Report showed no complaints.

We had a solid wood table that we liked and had received several compliments on, but years of grandchildren cutting and coloring, etc, on it had marred it. Also the seats had scratches. After not being able to find a dining set we liked better, we called C&S. They listened to our concerns about the type of finish we preferred, took the table and chairs back to the shop, and in just a little over two weeks returned it looking brand new. After going to nearly every furniture store in town, we couldn't find a set even even half as nice for nearly double the price of what we paid to have this one refinished. We're very happy and will be taking our "new" table and chairs with us to the home we're having built in Washington state.

They understood my problem and finished it with good quality with a fair price.

Most important up front - the chair turned out beautifully! The company's craftmanship is highly recommend. Also, pickup and delivery was free and punctual. There was a bit of sticker shock though... the bill came to $30 more than the estimate, plus an additional $50 charge for material that I thought was included in the estimate. They didn't contact us about any of these adjustments. Lastly, the timeframe estimate was "around 2 to 3 weeks" and it turned out to be almost four weeks. If price and time is no concern, I have no problem recommending C & S. I would recommend to the company to offer a written estimate, and include anything that could possibly be added to this estimate to avoid sticker shock.

Emad was recommended by a close friend so I called him and explained the job. He came by the house and then provided the estimate. Once we gave the go ahead he explained when he would start, how many trips and what he would do and when he would be finished. He did everything as planned. Although he told my wife he thought it was a little too dark we really like it. Because it had been unfinished so long, it really soaked in more stain than anticipated. He completed three coats of a sealer. As he finished the last one our kids opened the door and got three small fingerprints near the handle. He came back out, no charge, and finished this smudges again. Everything was clean, neat and right on time! I'm so proud of the door I want to show it off!

C&S Refinishing offers an in-home furniture repair service. The gentleman worked magic on my furniture, was on time, very professional, tidy and reasonably priced. He was here several hours and handled each piece with care and expertise. I had a dresser top that was covered with water rings, scratches, and a large area where cosmetic had reacted with the finish, leaving an ugly crater. The repairman made it look nearly new! He re-glued a windsor chair, and a trim piece on a curio cabinet, and repaired some missing trim with bondo, repaired a drawer that had chipped veneer, cleaned up a used rocking chair I recently purchased, and sealed the cracked seams of a chest that has an unusual plastered finish. There were a few pieces that he was unable to restore in my home and they will require in shop refinishing at a higher cost. Some of his products do have a strong odor, so be prepared to open a few windows. This gentleman learned his trade from his father, who was in the furniture refinishing business all of his life. The results exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

I nearly drove him crazy trying to choose an exotic finish, but he was very patient with me. He advised me on a good finish, and I'm very happy with the results. He also repaired a broken ceramic pedestal, that was on a side table. I thought it was ruined, but he was able to fix it! They do a great job and are very professional.

It was a small job, but they set the furniture up in the back yard, stripped it, sanded it and finished it right there. They made the table leg look like new. You couldn't even tell it was ever damaged.
