The experience was okay. They kept the place as clean as they possibly could, because they were cutting up concrete. They kept the dust to a minimum. They had to bring in concrete to repair the floor. They came and did what they were supposed to do. We had a choice on what we wanted them to do, and so we had a choice on what to spend on it.
Description of Work: They came and assessed why we were getting water in the basement, and they screwed down the bedrock to stabilise our foundation which was slowly settling, and then they put in B-Dry water proofing on the floor.

Excellent! The best part was that they did a great job water proofing the basement and there was a lifetime transferable guarantee on it. The worst part was having it done because they had to jerk around the concrete all the way around the basement, and that wasn't pleasant and there's no way you can make that pleasant. I would recommend them to anyone. They were bright and the person who initially came out to look at the job and to give me an estimate on it was really very good and I could always call him directly if I had any questions or issues.

I'm not that favorable to this company as I am to the other. It's actually we didn't spend any penny at all because it was part of the contract. They weren't as personable and the young man that came out initially, he didn't follow through with the results that he found. I had to call to get those results and then it took another agent to see. It was not as smooth as someone would like. So, I wasn't totally satisfied with the way that they handled the situation. I feel that, as I said earlier, if anyone chooses to use them that they would have to be aggressive in making sure that they received all the information needed to come into a finalization of whatever project it is that they will have to follow-up with the company which I felt that it was more on them. They should have made sure that the job was complete and that we were satisfied. They have not called to see how satisfied we were and that's a good customer service. So, their customer service was not up to par to what they have advertised. I believe that they did some digging and they didn't really smooth out the hole that they had made. They were late.
Description of Work: For foundation, we went with B-Dry. When we bought the house initially in 2009 and they came back for it to recheck I believe it was either April or March of this year. Before we bought the house, there were some water leakage. It's because of how the previous owner placed their downspout where the water keep away from the house but it came back and it gathered and it caused a damage down there so I said that there was some shifting in the foundation, so they had put in rods that go down, they pushed them into the ground until they hit the solid ground. So, that was all done with the previous owner and so we followed up with that and then we found another person to come in and do the foundation over. We wanted to make sure that there was no problem before we bought it so that's how we had them to come back.

The water worked for two days to dig and place the drainage system, sump pump and battery back up. They clean up most of their mess, but did leave some for me to do. It would have been better if they put items back in crawlspace.

The warranty is very specific. In the contract, there is a couple of provisions in it that says that if they mess up, they're not responsible so you had to make them put in writing that they would be responsible. The statuses were okay. They're quite expensive but they're worth what they put in.

We had a bit of a lean away from the house with our chimney. We asked them to come out and fix that. They were unable to fix the lean but they put a new foundation under it and they assured us that it would be safe. We were not happy that it leaned more but we had to trust them that with the foundation it would hold. They were very nice people and they did do a good job. We accepted that the chimney did not lean back in like we hoped it would but they said about 90% of the time it didn't. That's just one of those things with foundations, that you may not be able to fix. Their price was excellent. We had other prices and they had a good price. My husband was really upset and they had several managers talk with him and explain everything to him so that we understood.

The crew arrived on-time on April 3rd. I have no complaints with the work other than the trench dug in the yard for the sump pump drain line. The re-fill of the trench was poorly done. Not a big deal. I will do it myself. Part of the bid was a dedicated electric line for the sump pump. I was told the electrician was busy and would call the next day, Thursday. I made the mistake of paying before all work was completed. I heard nothing for a week and finally called the office the morning of April 10th, the following Wednesday. All I got was voice mail and left a message. By 2:00 that afternoon, I still had not received a call back so I called the sales rep, again, voice mail. That evening the sales rep called and said he would call the electrician and have him call me. No apology for the delay. By the next afternoon, I still not not heard from the electrician so I called the office again and spoke to a real person. She said she would call the sales rep who would call the electrician who would call me. Finally, on Thursday evening the electrician did call and said he could be out on Friday. This is now 10 days after the initial work was done. The electrician arrived on Friday as promised. It turns out they are sub-contractors rather than B-Dry employees. He apologized but said that he had not been told until the day before that work needed to be done. He did his work quickly and efficiently. The following week, I received a letter from B-Dry with the warranty and a letter from the Chief Administrative Office asking for referrals. The letter was unsigned AND was was sent without postage. I had to pay the letter carrier $1.12. The system installed may work as designed. Only time will tell. However, after the complete lack of professionalism, responsiveness and inattention to detail, I could not possibly refer this company to anyone. I have no faith that, if something should go wrong with the system, a company that performs so poorly from the get-go will do any better honoring their promises.

The 3 workers were late in arriving. Two of the workmen were obviously unhappy with their situation and stayed on their cell phones constantly, while the supervisor began the work. My 93 year old mother lives an apartment space in the basement, so part of her living area had to be cordoned off with plastic sheeting to prevent intrusion of dust. She was thus prevented from using her bathroom and kitchen facilities. The work began on mid-day Thursday, continued on Friday by mid-day. The job was not completed and the workmen left to do another job, not returning until the following Wednesday. This left my elderly mother, as well as my husband and I, a huge mess to deal with for 5 days. A brick stairway leading to the back entrance of the basement was damaged and left [properly unrepaired. The job supervisor was very polite and tried his best to complete the job alone, but my husband was not satisfied with the quality of workmanship. Since then, it seems that none of this work was not necessary, as we soon found a major drain was the cause of the water backup and dampness.
Description of Work: We were told by the rep that a section of our basement needed to be waterproofed because of water backup and dampness we were experiencing. Everything was to be done from inside the basement and the work would be completed within 2 days. Also, they guaranteed completion our project before beginning another project. They would install a sump pump and waterproof the walls from the inside rather than digging up the exterior perimeter and addressing the issue in this manner.

I set up an appointment with Brad at B-Dry Waterproofing over a week ago. I had two calls from their call center to confirm that I would be here at the 4:00pm scheduled time. 3 hours before the appointment, their call center gave me a call to tell me that Brad was running behind and would need to move our appointment to an hour later because he was running behind. We agreed to move the appointment. At 5:30 (30 minutes late for the new appointment time) Brad called me to tell me that he was still 1 hour away from being here. My contractor was here waiting and he was still going to be 1.5 hours behind the appointment that was re-set 3 hours earlier. When I let Brad know I was frustrated, he said that this was no regular sales job and that he couldn't just make appointments in stone. I asked him why he set a definite time if that was the case. He then stated in a rude tone "look, do you want my services out there or not?" So , my answer is "not". If a company can't be on time and responsible on the first appointment, how will they be when your contractors are waiting on them to do their job before proceeding with the project? I will not be using them, and I would stay away from them if you like professionalism in jobs.

We do this because as you know, waterproofing and foundation repair on not simple sales presentations. The visit will begin with a minimum of 30 min simply doing the inspection of the entire exterior, then the interior of the home. Coupled with customer inquiries, this someimes goes longer than anticipated, And, we would never leave a customer until all of their questions are answered. I looked into your call. In this particular case there was a customer in Kingsport in this situation. She had many questions and Brad was doing his best to accommodate all appointments. I understand the call center was doing their best as well. We do apologize that you had to wait. We will contact you directly and hopefully we can have you understand that our approach is consultative. We want to help our customers with all of their concerns. Met with the salesman. He did a very detailed presentation on how the system worked. I had 2 other bidders bid on the job so I was familiar with the systems. I asked detailed questions about how the system would be put in. The crew showed up and immediately there were issues with what I had agreed upon with the salesman and what the foreman was planning on doing. I had paid extra for lateral drainage along my piers that the foreman wasn't aware of. Called the salesman and the situation was resolved to my satisfaction. Next issue was the weep holes that are drilled into the foundation walls to allow water to drain out of the blocks. The crew drilled the holes 4 to 8" above the bottom of the footer. I had specifically asked the salesman if the holes would be all the way to the bottom of the footer. I tried several times to reach the salesmen on Saturday while the work was being done. The foreman was giving me a sob story about how he couldn't get the holes at the bottom without widening the ditches. I finally sent a text to the salesman stating that I had no intention of signing the completion paperwork until someone talked to me about the weep holes. Finally a supervisor called and we resolved the weep holes. They all were re-drilled at the bottom of the blocks. Mounds of dirt were only partially spread out. The plastic under the floor was very haphazardly repositioned after the work. And the discharge pipe that was buried in the yard is already exposed after the first rain. A lot of negative but the system works great. And I would use them again but would advise folks to inspect the work before the rock is applied. I did and was able to remedy things before it was covered up. Also, I wouldn't allow them to schedule you for weekend work. All you get when you call in is voice mail.
