Tri-City Air has been serving the Tri-Cities region since 1969. We are committed to quality, honesty, and customer satisfaction. We stand behind our work 100%. This foundation has supported our growth and success over the past four decades. Additional address - Po Box 4035, Johnson City, TN 37602. Award winning. We have thirty trained professionals on staff. Our team members have all passed background investigations, drug screens and have clean driving records. They take great pride and care in the work they do and go the extra mile to protect your home and belongings. Tri-City Air is fully licensed and insured. Our organization has four departments - Installation, Service, Administration and Sales. Each department has a Team Leader. Our Team Leaders meet on a regular basis to ensure Tri-City Air provides premier customer service. Each department holds regular training sessions so that we remain up to date with the ever changing technology.

Description of Work: My Heating and Air system failed this summer in a July heat wave. The system was over 20 years old so in real need of replacement. I got 3 estimates from reputable local HVAC companies. Tri-City was not the lowest price but I really felt that they cared and would do the job right. I was looking for a company that I could trust over the life of the system and that the installation would guarantee that it perform to the highest possible standard. Tri-City went over and above by loaning to me at no cost a portable room air conditioner and until my new system could be installed. The installation team was on time and professional. Included in the price was a year under their service contract and and extension to 10 years heat pump warranty. Overall this is the best experience I have had with an HVAC company and I am very satisfied with the system performance.

Description of Work: My only fault with these guys was that it took about 4 days before they could come fix my A/C and it was no fun in the June heat. They came when they said they would, though, and did a good job and gave good advice. I was just low on coolant and they topped it up. The call-out charge ended up being more than the cost of the repair.

Description of Work: I was out of town on a business trip. My Wife mentioned that the Central heat and air unit was constantly running. When the Tech. came over he never adjust the thermostate to vertify the operation of the heater coil or inspect the Air handler. The Tech. since we have had added refrigerent before ended up assuming and added 2 lbs. I don't understand how a Tech. would think adding refrigerant in the dead of winter would address the running of the Unit. I inspected the unit when I returned and with a simple function test was able to identify the a couple of the heater coils were burnt out and that was the reason the Unit was constantly running trying to maintain the temperature. I was able to buy a repacement heater coil from SupplyHouse for a mear $63.00 and it took about 20 minutes to install the Unit. I have now decided to switch my A/C service as the understanding of how a unit operates is not common knowledge of the company. Just a little background, I am a Commissioning Electrical Engineer for the Power Insdustry, so I think I can troubleshoot a A/C unit. At least I don't try to snowball a customer and take their money for not providing services. |

Our company performed a diagnostic on 01/14/15. You called in on Tuesday 02/24 to tell us you felt like you had been misdiagnosed. We pulled the previous ticket to see work performed and offered you a second opinion by our Senior Service technician. (This was offered at no charge to you) On 02/26 we scheduled our senior technician to do the second opinion. I was notified by Angie's List on 2/26 of your dissatisfaction. I spoke with your wife by phone and cancelled the service call. She stated that the system still was not working, but understood due to your extreme dissatisfaction that it might be best if we let either you or the new A/C service you have chosen do the work. We stand by our technicians 100%, but like everyone we are capable of making a mistake. We were more than willing to rectify the situation if we made a mistake. We are very sorry you were disappointed with our service, and wish you every success with the A/C Company you have chosen.

Description of Work: We were receiving no air from vents,technician Jim found trouble to be bad blower relay. Jim said he would need to order part but could set system on constant fan to continue to cool house. Having done this the technician left.I received call Monday(5/12) part in technician would be out Tuesday(5/13)and a courtesy call before technician arrival.Jim arrived at 6:38pm made repair and left by 7:08pm.Partial cost of repair service contract for 1 year. Customer satisfied.

After getting four estimates, I chose Tri-Cities, a company I've used for minor repairs and service calls. Although their price wasn't the cheapest, I felt good using a local company whose reputation is mostly very good (I've heard one horror story). We had been without heat downstairs for 9 days in some of the coldest weather we've had. Tri-Cities got the furnace part installed enough to give us heat over the New Year's holiday, then finished up the work on the following Monday and Tuesday. They were polite, thorough, and cleaned up after the project. Also, they worked three long days on the three coldest days I can remember in years, most of the work performed in an unheated basement and outside where the temps were in the teens. I never felt that they were rushing the job because of the cold. I hope to have many years of service out of the new furnace.

It was an extremely positive experience and they did an excellent job. They showed up when they were supposed to, did things they should have and cleaned up their mess. Everything worked and I was very pleased. Their prices were comparable to other companies in our area. We did have one problem and it was a couple of years later that we had a gas leak and they came out in no time and fixed it.
