an excellent job. It is a lot of work and the three of them worked well, and did everything that I asked them to. The 2nd time I have used them this year.

Bought the deal for 8 hours of labor. Did a good job, were on time and finished the job.

Reuben and crew were wonderful. They were careful and knew the difference between a weed and a shrub or flower. I will hire them again.

Arrived a day earlier than scheduled. Although I thought I was getting black, brown mulch was delivered. I might not have been clear enough in my message through Angie's list. Regardless, it looks excellent. All areas were cleaned up after the application. I would highly recommend this provider and would definitely have them perform other work.

First I want to say Patrick is awesome! He got in contact with me super fast, got out to my house and gave me an estimate in record timing. My yard looks absolutely amazing after his guys got done with it, I mean it looks 200 times better than it did. They got the grass and weeds pulled up and the SOD laid in about 2 hours and the price was worth every penny. Solo landscape has my business from now on. Patrick is very professional and did not try to sell me on any other services and I appreciate everything he did. I would definitely recommend Solo Landscaping to anyone!

They filled the beds perfectly and they look fantastic. I couldn't tell the crew had been there except for the mulch in the beds. Great work on cleanup.

They arrived when they said that they would. The crew (5 men) started immediately and worked solidly for two hours. I was exceedingly pleased and will call Solo Landscaping again.

Solo Landscape did an excellent job, I was very pleased. The trimming was symmetrical and all clippings removed. I was pleased with the grade of mulch, and it did not appreciably fade with time. Email billing was very convenient for me. I still use Solo Landscape.

We have used Solo Landscape for over the past 3 years. They do all the landscaping and yard work on our personal home and our rental property. Their prices are very reasonable and you can always rely on them to do the job asked. I have never been disappointed with their work! They are always punctual and do a more than exceptional job each and every job. I highly recommend them to all of our local neighbors and friends!! I wouldn't have any other team take care of our landscaping needs!

Really nice owner and seems committed to doing a good job. Work was good, some small details missed. I think his business is growing quickly making it hard to keep up with every client.

They did so much more than expected. Leaf's had not been cleared in months and it has rained for days... When they left there was not a leaf on my property - not in the yard, the flowerbeds, or even stuck in the bushes. They did an exception job and I was more than pleased. I would and will absolutely use them again and recommend them to others.

They cut grass on time but left bag of grass in front that was too heavy for trash pickup. I never got a response when I contacted the company.

Solo?s performance was exceptional as it completed a large, complex project at our home involving the creation of terraces, terrace walls, steps and a small patio. Solo also planted trees and shrubbery and installed a six-zone sprinkler system. We are very pleased with the result. Flexible with design changes. Excellent cleanup. Pricing was competitive. All went well. Solo earned our highest recommendation.

Went very well. Could not have asked for better service and or design. One planting was not done as planned, and they returned and corrected immediately.

Ive never been more impressed by a lawncare service in my life. My yard front and back is absolutely spotless. The even took all bags and branches with them when they left. On top of the actual service they stayed in touch with me every day regarding severe weather delays. Solo has absolutely won my future business for any and all of my landscaping needs. Excellent work! Patrick came out and gave me a quote, then sent a crew on the agreed-upon day. Patrick came out with the crew to get the job started and provide direction. Uniformed crew had 4 people; the foreman spoke English. Very polite and hardworking men who worked diligently until the work was finished. Used a variety of methods to remove leaves from my property, including in some cases hand-picking them out from azalea bushes. I did not want any mowers used because they tear up the soft wet lawn in the winter months, so the entire operation was done with blowers and rakes. The leaves were sent to the curb and then vacuumed up and dispatched to a truck. curb was left clean with no leaf bags. (Many people do not realize that it is illegal in Memphis for large quantites of leaf bags the be piled up at the curb if a contractor has been hired. By law, the contractor is respoonsible for waste leaf removal, and the city can refuse to pick up the bags unless they were raked up by the homeowner himself). A great job by Solo Landscaping and I will hire Patrick again!

Came to the house and did a nice job. Did more than I expected. They made sure it looked good. Initial estimate was higher, but they made it work without needing more CU Ft..

I called Mr. Nelius, left a message saying that I wished to talk with him about my landscaping needs, and asked him to call me. He didn't return my call, and I didn't attempt to reach him again.

Patrick was very professional, knowledgeable, and punctuational. He offered suggestions and provided us with 3D pictures of possible landscaping designs. We are very pleased with Patrick's work.

In June, 2013, after looking at reviews and getting three estimates, I chose Mr. Nelius's group, Solo Landscaping, to perform some landscaping on our house we had just renovated and moved into. Both the front and back yard needed slightly leveling and then sod placement. Mr. Nelius suggested Zoysia Palisade for the back yard and Bermuda for the front yard, which we went with. We discussed the need to level certain parts of the yard to prevent puddling. I also asked Mr. Nelius if it would be beneficial for me to do any prep work myself - like killing weed grass or removing rocks/stones - he said they would do all the ground prep. Mr. Nelius was very prompt - he responded to my initial request for a quote immediately and came out to give a quote within days. Within two weeks, he had completed the work - it all being done in about a half a day. He was available by phone and returned calls within the day, and did most of his business by email so that quotes were in writing - also responding within a business day. His quote was not the least expensive for the work, but very close - so I chose him based on his promptness and eagerness to do the work. On the day of the work, he and his crew arrived when he said they would. They went to work on the front yard, and Mr. Nelius was working with them. They worked very hard and quickly, removing and old fence post, leveling the yard appropriately, and tilling the yard adequately. I left for work as they were beginning to prep the back yard. Mr. Nelius also left around that time, leaving the work to his crew. When I saw the completed work later in the day, I was a little disappointed, but thought it would improve when the grass had time to take and grow a bit. The parts that I was unhappy with: - the quality of Bermuda sod was poor - it was full of nut grass weed that I spent the entire summer try to control. It was from the sod itself, not the prepped ground - it grew immediately from the sod itself and not at the seams. With pre-emerge over the winter, I was able to better control it this second summer. - In the side yard, they mixed Bermuda and Zoysia, which still looks terrible. However, the part of the work that most frustrated me (and proved I wasted my money) was the quality of work in the back yard. The yard had not been prepped at all for the sod, and none of the leveling was done. Most of the sod was laid over barely-tilled ground with no concern about drainage or depth of soil. This had been specifically discussed in our initial discussions. Any amount of rain would cause pooling of water in large puddles in the middle of the yard. Other parts of the yard had such poor prep that the grass never really established itself - I later found out why. I spent most of the summer trying to nurse the back yard to life to no avail. After laying dormant over the winter, very little of the Zoysia made it to the second summer. This second summer, my back yard was virtually a mud pit and couldn't be used by my kids if it had rained at all recently. Late in the summer, I decided to rent a tiller and try to level the yard myself - so for $40, I got a small tiller from Home Depot and tilled up about 1/3 of the yard in an hour. I found that many areas of the yard had bricks and slabs of concrete less than 1/2" below the surface, which is why the grass never established in those areas. Using just my hands and a landscaping rake, I removed quite a few stones/bricks/blocks and leveled the worst part of the yard in less than 2 hours. I purchased a pallet of fresh-cut Zoysia sod from Nature's Earth Products on Summer Ave and laid the sod myself in less than an hour. Except for one tiny area that wasn't getting irrigation well, the grass is well established and draining very well - no puddles. I still need to fix another 1/3 of the yard, but I corrected the worst areas and decided to build a play area over another bad part. The yard is usable once again. Before I decided to re-do the yard myself, I tried to contact Mr. Nelius several times by phone and email in late summer of 2013 and again in July of this year (2014.) My calls and emails were not returned, so I contacted him through his website. Only after I advised him that I planned on writing an Angie's List review did he reply and said his email had changed. I explained my problem with the back yard and asked if he would be willing to at least offer advice or help on how to correct the problem. I sent lots of pictures, both of the problems seen within days of his work and the resulting mud pit a year later. He never replied. Below are copies of the emails. In summary, I believe Mr. Nelius's business is based on volume and not quality. His price was very fair and he was very fast in getting the job done. He was very professional and easy to work with until there was a problem. I do believe that his crew was responsible for the poor quality work when left unsupervised by him - I wonder if it would have been better (like the front yard) if he had been present. For my part, I should have persisted in getting him to come back the first summer of the work, though I hoped a season to get established would help the problems. We were very impressed with how quickly they came out to just give us an estimate. The pictures they provided of possible landscape designs was amazing - using pictures of our own yard - we could see exactly what it would look like. We did hire them to do the work - and the work was top notch. The work went quickly - we couldn't be happier with how smoothly the whole job went. We will definitely use them for future landscaping projects.

Patrick and his team were professional, efficient, hard working, and delivered outstanding results. They took great care with the work they did, and with our surrounding property.
