"On February 27, I received a call from a Bob from Morrison construction Company he asked me what type of work did I need? I told him I needed some damage shingles replaced on my roof that it would be a partial fix. Mr. Bob Told me that he can come over and give me an estimate or I can send him pictures of the damage and he could let me know what price range he would charge so I send Mr. Bob pictures of the damage shingles on my roof. I asked him to look at the pictures and give me a call back to let me know how much he would charge in three hours later Mr. Bob called me back telling me that he was at a Home Depot and he had the items for my shingles replacement in the cart but his wired money hadn’t hit his account yet and asked if I could pay for it and he would just discount it from what he would charge. I asked Mr. Bob how much he would charge for that type of work he quoted me $600. I told Mr. Bob that I would not pay for the items he had in his card at Home Depot because I have been scammed before that way. I also told him I would not pay him $600 for a partial fix that is too much money so after that conversation the next day, Mr. Bob text me while I was at work and asked me to call him or text him because he could work with me on the price. I in response told Mr. Bob that was OK that I would hold up for a minute get my roof fixed so Mr. Bob end up going to my home on February 28 without my permission after I had already told him that I would hold up on getting the roof fixed. I would see if I could find somebody cheaper my son call me while I was at work and told me Mr. Bob was over my house fixing on my roof. I told my son to give Mr. Bob the phone and I immediately told Mr. Bob I told you that I didn’t want you to fix my roof. He told me he had already started on it that he might as well finish. I told Mr. Bob I was not gonna pay him because I think I can find somebody cheaper to fix it. I told him I would not pay him the $600 he told me he would work with me so before I could get home after work, my son called me and told me that he was almost finished with the roof at this time. It was getting dark so by the time I made it home, Mr. Bob told me his son was almost finished. I did not know Mr. Bob had an accomplice with him. I asked him who the man was with him. He told me it was his son so I proceeded to tell Mr. Bob that I would not pay him the Complaint $600. He asked me Would I pay him $300. I paid Mr. Bob $300 without really getting a good visual of the work his son had done to my Home so The next day, which was on the 29th I woke up to see the work he had done to my roof and I was shocked. I was upset and I was angry. They did not replace all of the shingles that were damaged. The shingles they had replaced they were flipped and sticking up off my roof. I immediately called Mr. Bob and I got no response. I then text Mr. Bob he did not respond back and I did this for two days and I have yet to this day heard from Mr. Bob. I trusted that he was with Morrison construction company that’s what he told me there was no paperwork signed. I paid him in cash. Mr. Bob does not need to work for this company because he is a scammer."

Jc modern contractors / gio's pressure washing Here to help with all your pressure washing need Gutter cleaning Window cleaning With the best price and always up to customers standards We also do Fence repair Wood repair
"I utilized this contractor for multiple projects. On the first 2 projects, they were an excellent contractor to work with. They showed up daily and were good at communicating what was happening with the project. The last time I used them was a different story. Communication fell apart. The lead of the project wouldn't show up most days, so the workers didn't know what they were supposed to work on. Sloppy work was done throughout the house, even though most of the payments were made. I have cabinet doors that were added that are crooked and the contractor states it's the fault of the house and framing. The exterior was painted in poor conditions, even though I was told the conditions weren't going to be an issue. The paint is running around the entire exterior. The most frustrating part of all of this is I've contacted the contractor about fixing items that were done wrong. They said they'll come out to fix it and never showed. I cannot say it enough - avoid this contractor."

The average cost to hire a woodworker for a project in your home is around $65 per hour, but hourly rates can range from $35 to $250 or more, depending on the experience and skill of the woodworker. Your total woodworking project cost will depend on the complexity of the work, the type of wood, the number of projects, and any other materials your project requires. You could hire a professional woodworker to create everything from a custom cabinet to ornate, unique staircases.
Generally, general contractors charge between $50 and $150 hourly, though not every contractor charges by the hour. If charging based on the project, you can expect a markup of 10% to 20% of the construction cost. You can expect to pay between $300 and $500 daily if charged by the day.
While city and state laws vary on general contractor licensing requirements, hiring an unlicensed general contractor could lead to poor quality work, costly future expenses, and potential code violations. Be sure to check our state licensing tool to review the local general contractor guidelines for your area.
As you browse our pro listings, take note of the “Angi Approved” badge. Angi Approved businesses meet our standards for certification which include:
The owner, principal, or relevant manager passed a criminal background check
Required to have applicable state and local licenses
Maintain an average star rating of 3.0 or better on our network, if they have at least one review
Paying to advertise their services
Meeting any other eligibility criteria required by Angi
Keep in mind licensing is different from certifications. A license is a legal requirement to operate a business, while certifications are voluntary.
Every woodworker has different skills and experience, so we recommend asking the following questions when hiring a woodworker for your project:
How long have you been in the woodworking industry?
What experience do you have with my type of project?
Do you have customer references I can speak with?
How long do you expect my project to take?
What is my recourse if I have an issue with your work?
Do you charge hourly or per project?
Will you work on-site or in your own workshop?
Does your fee include the necessary post-job clean-up?
While they perform similar tasks, a carpenter is responsible for the woodworking that goes into construction—like framing, installing sheathing, and hanging kitchen cabinets—while a woodworker tackles more intricate and custom projects—like building custom furniture and installing wainscoting. Based on these definitions, most woodworkers can tackle the jobs of a carpenter, but you should always ask about your specific project when choosing a woodworker to ensure they have the necessary skills to tackle the job.
