We contacted Keith the owner of Franklin Environmental Services for an estimate for the radon mitigation due to high level radon present in the home inspection on overall avg. of 10.5 pCi/L. Keith come by on schedule with good commutation with us all the time and email us the estimate the follow day. He is very knowledgeable in the field and explain to us with great detail on the system design. Keith and his crews were very friendly and professional. We discussed on how the piping goes with different options. He was very pleasant to work with and also follow up the project with us such as further secured the fan out door, re-inspection of radon level with digital readout. Most importantly, Franklin Environmental Services get the job done. Now my basement radon level is avg. 1.9 pCi/L. My wife and I are highly recommend Keith's service.

I contacted Keith at Franklin Environmental Services after I had a radon mitigation system installed in our home by another contractor. The system installed by the other contractor was done poorly and was ineffective at reducing the indoor radon levels. After the other contractor stopped returning my phone calls I began searching for someone else. I was fortunate enough to find Keith at Franklin Environmental Services here on Angie's List. He came out personally to inspect our current system and explained what the options were to bring the radon levels down. He understands the science behind this stuff as he is an engineer by trade. I was impressed by what he proposed and I agreed to have him do the job. Keith arrived on time and was personally with his crew the entire day to complete the work. Upon finishing, he refused to accept payment until a follow up test he conducted was complete and showed that the system was effective. He even set the test machine on a 24 hour start delay to take into account the crawl space being open while the work was performed. The verdict: It worked! Our radon levels dropped significantly and are well below the EPA recommended action level. I am so thrilled and can rest easy knowing that my family is not breathing in toxic gas in our home. In my research I found that this industry is largely unregulated in Tennessee. There are plenty of people that say they can do radon mitigation work but when it comes to your home and health, don't trust it to some general contractor. Keith specializes in this. He really knows his stuff and stands behind his work. I only wish I had known of his company the first time around.

They quoted us for $100 but they only billed us $75. Everything about them was good.

An excellent experience from start to finish. Keith is nice and very professional, knowledgeable and experienced. He explained everything clearly and was very conscientious in making sure that the result was satisfactory. Follow-through was excellent. Keith really cares about getting the problem solved, aiming for the more stringent WHO standards rather than the more commonly known EPA standards. So he returned to extend a pipe to the far end of the house when the reading there was still a bit too high. He did not require any payment upfront and went the extra mile. I had gotten several estimates and compared contractors and was by far most impressed with him.
