They were competitive with others from whom we had received estimates. We signed an agreement. Later in the day they called to say they could install the replacement later that afternoon if we wanted it. We did. They came and completed the job around 6:00 pm on a Friday evening. We are very pleased.

The service person recommended several options from a simple replacement to replacing the whole toilet. It's old but looks fine and works except for this issue so I opted for simple and used an Angie's List coupon. Very satisfied.

Description of Work: General inspection and hit water heater flush. They did great on everything, but the estimate for repairs was about 4x the amount of local plumber. To be fair though, the hot water heater they would have supplied was probably of superior quality than the Lowe's brand I bought. My total cost $570. B. Franklin cost $1600.

Description of Work: I house just went under contract and part of the buyer's inspection report requested an adjustment to the water pressure reducer valve. I thought it would be simple and agreed to it, but found out later that it was really a replacement, not an adjustment. My Realtor recommended a small plumbing company and they were kind enough to quote me over the phone what it would cost if it did need to be replaced. Since I wasn't familiar with this, I thought I would "comparison" shop with some of the larger plumbing companies. I called several plumbers none of them wanted to quote over the phone and they all wanted to charge a $50 fee to come check it out. I called Ben Franklin and was very happy to hear that they DO NOT charge Angie's List members a fee to come out and give an estimate. So I called them out, they were on time, very professional... but the quote was almost double that of the first quote that I received over the phone. If they were even close to the cost I would have gone with them since they were there, but I was shocked at how much more they wanted to charge then the other plumber (same warranties, etc). So I went with the other plumber (at 1/2 the cost). Maybe Ben Franklin is more competitive on other things, but I would highly recommend getting a 2nd quote to be sure you're not overpaying. Gave them a B overall for the $0 charge for the estimate and professionalism, but had to give them a D on the cost.

Description of Work: We got the Angie's Deal for the Plumbing inspection and Water Heater flush. Caleb was very professional,thorough, and respectful in our home! We also had Eric from Benjamin Plumbing come back today to inspect our water and discuss the cost of a filtration system & replacing our water heater. Neither needs to be done immediately (althought our city water is NASTY!!!!!) and we're still deciding if/when we'll do these, but we'll definitely be using Benjamin Plumbing when that time comes!! They were wonderful and their prices are very reasonable (with 0% financing plans available)!
