Great initial consultation with Mid-State. Very comprehensive inspection of heat/air units as well as insulation. Wrote up numerous deficiencies without any pressure for us to commit to using them to fix the problems. Actually suggested an in home energy audit to further define issues to fix. Excellent work. We have had them back to fix $2000 worth of repair issues and would not hesitate to use them again.

They were willing to work with my schedule, they showed up on time, kept the house clean and were done in the time they estimated. They answered all my questions and made a few helpful suggestions.

Bottom-line: NEVER AGAIN! FYI; work done back in July still serving well.

Overall, we couldn't be happier with Mid-State Heating and Air Conditioning and feel very confident about the services they will provide for us in the future. It is obviously a company that internally communicates very effectively about customers and services required - from sales to service manager to technicians - resulting in best outcomes for customers. We felt like everyone we encountered from Mid-State Heating and Air Conditioning knew what they were doing and knew what services were required by us. Being new to the community, we put our trust in the other very positive reviews we read about Mid-State Heating and Air Conditioning on Angie's List and we were not disappointed.

My experience with Mid State in how they responded to my initial request for the Angie's Deal and then their response to my call for concern over my system not working has helped me decide to make them my preferred vendor for my HVAC system.

The technician was very nice and easy to work with.

The service man was very nice and professional. He did a great job of cleaning up and servicing my HVAC units. He also was very thorough with the inspection and talking with me about some possible repairs that were needed. All-in-all, I am very happy with the service I received and would definitely use them again.

Positives: Fast and friendly. Tech came out the same day I called. Negative: Price. This was a 2nd opinion involving a corroded/damaged evaporator coil that needed to be replaced. Tech gave estimate of $1950 to replace the coil and re-fill the refrigerant. This was almost $1000 more than (close to double) the 1st estimate I was given. Also, tech tried to sell me on buying some kind of tune-up package. Said proper maintenance of HVAC would have prevented the damaging of evaporator coil and that cleaning of the corrosion would help the coil. This is not true. After consulting other techs, I found out there was nothing I could have done to prevented the corrosion of the coil. The coil's corrosion is due to either construction (cheaper copper alloys from China) or the flow design of the HVAC unit, or both. Also, I do not use any aerosol sprays in the house, don't smoke, and change my filters monthly. I ended up going with the contractor who gave me the cheaper estimate. So far, everything is working fine. Based on the above, I would not recommend this provider and would definitely get 2nd estimates if you do. Note: I gave a D for professionalism because although tech was friendly and knowledgeable, he tried to sell me the tune-up service based on erroneous facts. Also, trying to sell me a part/service that is almost twice as much as another company shows me what kind of company I am dealing with.

Everything went very smooth and I am very satisfied with the performance and efficiently of the new system.

The estimate was made about one month before the job was performed. The estimate process had no high pressured sales talk associated with it. The delay was partly due to the company telling me about a possible $500 rebate I could get, if I got an energy audit from my electric company. I did not know about the rebate. I got the energy audit and it was so helpful. The energy auditor came back and inspected the insulation job and said the did a good job. I will get a rebate from my electric company. The persons who did the insulation were on time and professional.

When making the appointment, the woman on the phone was pleasant; likewise the technician was pleasant when he came to fix our AC unit.

Mid State did an outstanding job. They were very professional and their attention to detail was amazing. I would recommend them to all my friends.

Mid State came out and serviced my two compressors. They filled coolant in one and tuned the other. They were very thorough and professional. I also asked them to check my thermostat for accuracy -- included that at no charge. Great company and very quick turnaround.

Report was rather crudely written on a yellow note pad, no detailed information provided, no contact information provided for follow-up. I learned months later the company is an approved TVA Energy Right Solutions contractor who could provide additional information and incentives for making recommended repairs. The cost quoted seemed really high for items noted. The price for the inspection was fair, but recommendations were rather pricey.

I called a couple of days before to set up the appointment. Very nice on the phone, was able to get the appointment for a time that worked well for me. He came and did the inspection and gave us an estimate on the work that needed to be done. We will probably use them when we do have the work done.

The technician arrived when scheduled, installed the thermostat, and instructed me on its use. It went very smoothly.

The HVAC work was performed 9/24/2012 & duct cleaning 10/23/12. On both occasions the service technicians arrived on time and were very courteous. The work was performed efficiently. A company representative called after the service was provided to be certain to be certain we were satisfied. We will definitely have Mid State Air Conditioning and Heating perform our HVAC maintainence again and perform any repairs/replacements as necessary.

The company called ahead to tell me the service man was on the way. He arrived approx. 20 minutes later. He was nice and after he was done, which took about an hour, we went over the work he did and what might be needed ot be done to the unit in the near future. We then talked about his company and their service contract. All in all, I was happy with the job done.

We had a wonderful experience using Midstate Air Conditioning and Heating. The owner called to set up my appointment exactly when he said he would. The 2 workers that showed up were right on time. They were very polite and professional. They went right to work and made sure everything was left clean. I would recommend this company to anyone needing their services. The owner even called this morning to make sure everything went okay!

We have used Mid-State Air Conditioning and Heating for many years for our heating and AC needs. The first time I had a problem with our heating, I contacted 6 different contractors, some of whom were the very large companies whose names probably many people know. Robert Clark was the only one who really listened to my complaints of where the house was especially cold and was the only one who suggested to add a couple more vents in strategic locations and a bigger return. That clearly was such a help since from that time, our downstairs has always been warm evenly throughout. The men who performed the work were professional. They cleaned up after themselves as well. We then have used them to install a new heating/ac unit for our upstairs when that unit needed replacing. A great experience for that, too. Recently, I have used them to clean and seal our air ducts. The fellows worked very hard and did a great job. I can't say enough good things about them. I just wish that they did everything else for our house because they are the type of contractor that everyone looks for - reliable, timely, courteous, reasonable in price, clean, knowledgeable, etc. Very professional. One nice thing that all the workmen do every time they have been here is to put on some type of foot booties over their work boots when they are in the house. I've never had any one else do that before. I highly recommend this company.

Great I gave a review for this last year. Can't remember the date.

The tech was on schedule, serviced the units, reviewed in detail all settings/pressures, etc. The tech suggested purchasing an annual service policy. The tech suggested an energy efficient thermostat - which I did purchase. The tech suggested replacing an electrical component, bringing to my attention the possibility of need of replacement due to condition. The tech suggested the system had a slow freon leak and would need future service. I declined the electrical component replacement. Approximately two weeks later, the main air conditioning system failed. I called my home warranty plan and a different servicing company was sent to repair the unit. During the time that he was dispatched and his arrival, the second upstairs unit failed. The warranty agent left to purchase freon. He also replaced an electrical component. The main system failed again. I was told major parts were ordered for replacement. He re-installed freon (which was very expensive, as explained). The upstairs unit failed and he installed freon to it. When asked about the major parts replacement - I realized the story was changing and not to be believed. I contacted the warranty company- explained the major parts on order and was told this was completly not true. The Warranty company sent a second company. This tech explained in a professional way how the freon replacement can be improper and loose more than necessary with each attempt. He installed the freon in both units and they performed very well from March 2012 until today- still running - no problems - Oct 23, 2012. Bottom line: old type freon may cost the installer $500.00 and he may be paid a fraction to install. Thus creating the need for additional installation until they recap their investment. Recommendation: ??? who is right? who is wrong? The last company was best in my opinion. I was forced to answer - would you use this original company again or not- yes or no. (I can't say either yes or no - honestly but, no is my slant)
