The next day they came and installed the new heat pump. The installer was friendly and courteous! It was extreme cold , going down to single digits, and he didn't complain about the conditions he had to work in. The comfort advisor,was friendly and not a high pressure salesman. We were very pleased with everyone we talked to from this company.

Our experience with them was great. They were very fast. The day my air conditioning went out, they had somebody there to look at it that night. They confirmed that it was pretty much gone. They replaced it all the next day. The service overall was quick, and everybody was professional. The owner called me the day after installation, just to make sure everything went well. I think they did a high quality job and provide very good service.

A couple of years ago we needed to replace our HVAC system using NES financing and called several companies for estimates.  Chris of Mid-State was the ONLY one who performed a manual J to determine the size of the unit we needed before giving an estimate.  The others all said they were so experienced that they could eyeball and they had NEVER been wrong. Hard to believe since each one of them came up with a different answer!  The other companies took about 15 minutes to write up an estimate and seemed eager to get on their way.  I had the feeling they didn't want to have to conform to NES standards and that we were too small a  job for them to bother with.  In contrast, Chris was very careful and took a lot of time to talk us through the various options and answer all of our questions.  He said they welcomed the NES inspections that would be necessary for our financing because they wanted to do things the right way.  He explained that Mid-State does only residential work while the others also work on larger businesses so  my suspicions about the other companies were correct.  We were also impressed when Chris said that Mid-State uses only full time employees with benefits like worker's compensation instead of using part-timers or contract workers.  We were happy to hear this, since we don't like saving money just because workers aren't treated fairly.
We ended up buying a more expensive energy efficient unit than we had originally  planned, but not because we were pressured in any way.  The costs were very transparent and on a par with other estimates. We were especially happy with the warranty, which includes parts and labor for 10 years.  The install seemed to go well, but afterwards we noticed more of a temperature differential than expected between upstairs and downstairs.  Inspection by NES revealed some significant problems with airflow both upstairs and downstairs in several different places and listed a number of things that needed to be fixed.  Mid-State corrected these problems and also, when we asked, replaced vent covers, which should have been done as a matter of course.  We were surprised that there was so much to correct based on this external inspection. However, the owner called to check on our situation and was very receptive to our feedback.  We were very happy with the final product. Amazingly, contrary to the laws of physics there is now very little temperature differential between the upstairs and downstairs--it seems like magic.  All's well that ends well!
The first winter we had the system there was a problem with the heating unit.  The repairman came promptly after we called. He was very knowledgeable and efficient and  fixed it with parts he had on hand.  We have had seasonal inspections by the same repairman and have been impressed that these are much more detailed and careful than we have experienced with other companies. 
Overall, we have been extremely pleased with the product and services provided by Mid-State and have recommended them to others.

The technician that came out was fantastic. Very knowledgable and friendly.  Very professional. He was able to diagnose a problem and fix in it in under 30 minutes, Compared to the  1.5 hours another company took to look at it and offer no soultion. Would highly recommend John Henry!

It was good, really good. They clean about 30 to 36 vents. They came on time. Their service was excellent. They clean up and they left up some screws here and there. I would recommend them.

Company is great. Ended up needing more work than the big deal provided. Going to hire them to do the job.

They did a great job. They did the work for my sister’s home. She ended up purchasing a new unit from them as well. I felt they went above and beyond what we paid them to do. They were great at cleaning up after the job and pleasant to work with. They were great at explaining everything to my sister and answering her questions. We had no problem scheduling the deal and came out as scheduled.

They cleaned up the grates. They came in and clean but i still had mold on it afterwards. They came very promptly when they said they would; two guys came but when I notice that afterwards I had mold coming out on some of the vents. They came and did something on the vents and vacuumed it out. They had some kind brushing system they did down in there; I had never done anything like that before, I may have done a little stuff but not cleaned up the vent. It looked like they kind of vacuumed it out a bit, may be it loosened out some mold, I don’t know. But I did have mold, not in every vent but in some of them.I could physically see a little bit of mold around the venting later on within the day or two afterwards. Or what looked like mold to me.

The service went well. The big deal was for $49, and they stayed within that amount. They had really good service, and really friendly representatives. They did a good job.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, January 8, 2014, I discovered my furnace had stopped working.  Outside temperature was falling fast and settled at 4 degrees fahrenheit.  I put in a work order with my home warranty outfit, knowing that it would be at least 2 days before anyone came out.  I looked in my Angie's List magazine and found a coupon for a free diagnosis by Mid-State.  I called them up and was told someone would be out to my house between 1 and 3 pm.  Cole from Mid-State showed up at least an hour early.  He was courteous and professional, knowledgeable and efficient.  He found a failed component and was able to coax it into working again.  He said that due to the age of my unit and the nature of the component that it may or may not continue to operate.  It is now up to me to decide whether to continue to patch my old unit or replace it.  Meanwhile, I have heat and am exceedingly happy.  Nashville TN can be quite cold in the winter, but this kind of arctic wave is unusual and may easily be deadly.  Thank you very much to Cole!  He is the kind of employee that ensures a successful business will thrive and maintain loyal customers.  The coupon from Angie's List magazine was all it cost me.  I ponder what to do next from the comfort of a nice warm home.  Thanks again, Cole.  Your work is critically important and I really appreciate it!

He came out and did the service. In the process he had jarred some gunk loose and it ended up stopping the whole system. My husband was later able to fix the issue. We had called them to explain the issue and they had never even acknowledged that this had been an issue or offered any sort of resolution.

They came on time, did their work professionally and cleaned up after themselves. Did a very good job and the price was outstanding!
