We are very satisfied with Midstate Heating and Air! I was personally not there for the duct cleaning and sanitation service, but my husband said that the crew was punctual and efficient. We just bought our home and wanted to get the ducts cleaned because it was unclear when that work had last been performed. I was very satisfied with the work performed by the crew - there was no dust or debris from the vents lying around after - and have experienced an improvement of the air quality of the home. Scheduling my appointment was very easy. After I purchased the deal from Angie's List, I promptly received an email from Midstate Air about scheduling my appointment. They answered all my questions in a friendly manner. I was very pleased and would recommend them to anyone.

Cole was wonderful! He did a thorough inspection of our unit and immediately identified the problem. Not only did he order the necessary parts while here, but received confirmation of the order while here too. He educated us on the steps needed to prevent this problem in the future. Helped us decided on a solution that would fix the current problem (with a two year warranty) as well as including preventative maintenance all within in a reasonable cost. Professional in both dress and attitude, yet very personable and knowledgeable.

They did an excellent job of cleaning all of our vents including the dryer vent. They were corteous and thorough.

The technician showed up at our residency a few minutes before the actual appointment time. Appointment time 730 AM. Arrival time 727 AM. Came into our home after applying necessary shoe protection and I proceeded to tell him that our baby was still asleep upstairs and he in turn was extra cautious about his noise level. He checked on the air filters and thermostat and gave a few suggestions on general upkeep (replace batteries/filters). After a brief assessment of the indoor arrangement he politely asked where the furnace was located and before I accompanied him to the garage he was aware enough to let me know that not only was it okay to watch him perform his duties, but the company approved of it. Although I would have done it anyway, I took him up on his offer as I was interested in seeing the inside of my furnace and learning a new thing about my home. He was kind and courteous during our conversation and the topics ranged from personal to business. Took him about an hour and a half to finalize the check-up even through our conversation. During the course of our conversation my wife and baby woke up and came downstairs to start their day and I brought my little one out to see what I thought was so cool. Fortunately Brendan did not ignore my little one and more talk steered towards personal life. I tend to assess my own home service needs with the personalization it provides versus the prioritization in my schedule so take this small disclaimer as my personal review. He promoted his company well and I assessed him to not only be knowledge with his local expertise, but with a greater knowledge of his business's best practices. The overall skill and care the technician took with a routine job made me consider utilizing their company for long term work relationship and by the end of the visit I had done just that. I initially called to get a quote on remediating a musty smell from a crawl space, which I believed came up through gaps in the vents or in the duct work itself. I received one inspection from another company, during which the technician went underneath the crawl space and conducted, from the report provided, a very thorough inspection for around $100. To get a second opinion, I had Mid State AC and Heating come out. I described the issue for the technician (Cole). He made a call to another person (Adam), and relayed that it was common to occur this time of year. Cole never went underneath the house. He looked in vents and said the duct work needed cleaning. He recommended that I join a membership which, for $202 a year, would allow me to get 2 inspections on my system, which would, "...pay for itself if I had a problem." I told him that at this point I only wanted to remediate the odor coming from the crawl space. He assured me that cleaning ducts would do that and added he would have his duct guys check over the duct work and make sure there were no issues. If so, they would seal them up at no charge. He recommended that I have both the upper and lower systems cleaned. With the assurance that any open areas would be sealed, I agreed to get the lower vents cleaned. I explained that I would see how Mid State AC and Heating performed on the lower ducts before agreeing to any other service, including any membership. I also assured Cole that I would provide an accurate and detailed evaluation on Angie's List, Yelp!, and Google. On the day of the service, I spoke to the men who were cleaning the ducts to make sure they were going to seal anything not sealed. They looked shocked. A quick and dirty estimate was $1,800 for that service due to the number of ducts. I contacted Mid State AC and Heating to speak to Cole and confirm the services that he said would be provided. I spoke to Robert, the owner. He contacted Cole and called me back. I learned that it was an apparent miscommunication. Cole didn't mean they would fix anything. Instead, he meant it would be no charge to inspect the duct work and give me an estimate on fixing any issues. Robert, the owner, made a great overture of offering my money back. I declined, since the ducts had been cleaned. The two men who came were courteous and completed the job of cleaning ducts, but I was left with a bad feeling about Mid State AC and Heating. I had a sense of a "bait/switch" in that I was assured duct cleaning and an inspection/repair would be completed and my issue remediated. Instead, I got an offer to pay an additional $1,800 to remediate a problem that no one at Mid State AC and Heating had even bothered to diagnose/identify. With the majority of people giving Mid State AC and Heating an "A" rating, I'm sure many people will call them for service (I did). I would simply caution you to not accept everything offered verbally. It was a bit of a pig-in-a-poke/snake oil salesman experience for me. While the owner was kind and generous in his offer, and I could tell he was sincere in his offer. I preferred to be person of my word and pay what I said I would pay for the service provided, even thought it wasn't the service offered and agreed on by the technician. In the end, I'm left with cleaner ducts and the same problem I called them about.

Will not be recommending or using this company.

I am very remiss on the update to the last post--it does have a very good ending and an excellent reflection on Mid-State too! Mid-State came out and made good on the repair on my heating system without an additional charge. It turns out that when my alarm provider changed out my thermostat to a wireless model they hooked up the wires incorrectly for my unit. Mid-State gave me a written statement that helped me get a reimbursement of their first repair service call from my alarm company too.

I had both HVAC units serviced on a Friday back in June...but am just now providing this review. Recommendations for minor repairs/improvements were recommended but not performed immediately. Two days later, on the following Sunday around 4pm (on a June summer day), I noticed that the downstairs system was blowing air...but not cold air. Once I noticed the inside temperature rising despite the HVAC system running, I decided to contact Mid State - assuming I would need to schedule something for the next day (Monday). Instead, they indicated someone could be at my house within 2 hours...that is, 6pm on a Sunday. I was impressed by this prompt service, and that any possible service charge for a weekend visit is the same price for a weekday visit. When the technician came out, I explained that everything had been working properly before the tune-ups...but since the tune-ups, the downstairs unit no longer blows cold air. He spent 2 hours evaluating my downstairs system, basically from 6pm to 8pm on a Sunday. As it turns out, during the tune-up a few days earlier, somehow the pressure had accidentally leaked from a valve during the Friday technician's inspection. It seemed like an honest mistake, and they did not charge me a service charge for the Sunday trip since the issue had accidentally been caused by their previous visit. The next day, Monday, I received a call from them asking if they could return in a few days (at no additional cost) to make sure everything was working properly, and to 100% verify that the pressure leak from the valve had been a one-time error instead of a prolonging problem. I was impressed by this quality control. During the follow-up visit, I went ahead and paid extra for the previously recommended electronic flood control device as well as the replacement of a compressor capacitor. The technicians are not pushy when identifying recommended improvements, which I appreciate. I will continue to use them for periodic maintenance as well as significant repairs when needed.

lle Everything went real well. I did speak with Robert prior to ordering the angie's list special package as I wanted to make sure that I would be able to schedule the service within a reasonable time. I had tried someone else at a lower price before but they were not be able to perform the service for more than 6 weeks. Robert informed me that he had an opening the following day and the next available slot was about ten days away which was fine with me as I was going to be unable to do it the following day. So we scheduled the service for ten days down the road even before purchasing the package. I followed up our conversation by purchasing the package and a couple of hours later, Robert confirmed by email receiving the order and the date of the service. They came and first inspected the whole system, and then followed up with cleaning all the ducts. They also took out every vent and pressure washed them outside, which I did not expect. AT the end, they sanitize the whole service. It took them 1:30-2:00 hours. The only glitch in the process was that I was scheduled for mid day and was supposed to get a phone call earlier that day to confirm the time which never happened. Everything else was perfect. The price was not the cheapest by any stretch of the imagination, but it was right for the service provided. I have tried cheaper before, but this was definitely the best value overall. I will definitely use them again in the future.

He was very friendly and professional. Arrived early morning as promised. I rated the price as a C but that may be the going price for the services performed; I wouldn't know.

It is a continuation service and I pay a monthly charge year around. They always show up when they are supposed to and always fix it. I don't have any problems with them.

Everything went great. The workers arrived on time and worked efficiently cleaning out a very dirty system. They were very friendly and professional. They did an excellent job on an old house with a system that had never been cleaned in at least 48 years. I highly commend them and I would recommend this company to anyone needing this type of service done to their home. By the time they were finished, my home was smelling better already. The owner is an extremely nice and patient man. He took time to answer any questions I had thoroughly, and there was many of them.

It went well. He spent a lot of time, especially on the outside system. He found a bunch of wasps in my attic but no nest; said my pest people probably needed to check it out. Said I needed to have something updated on my upstairs system and gave a price, but said it wasn't critical YET. Seemed very honest and straightforward. Did try to sell the "maintenance deal" but was not pushy at all. I would definitely call this company again for any home AC or heating issues.

Could not have been more satisfied. Accurately diagnosed the problem and provided options with budget constraints in mind. Even provided some pointers for a do-it-yourselfer like me. No unwanted or unnecessary services or parts were suggested. Good service at a fair price. I think that's all anyone looks for in a service provider.

I thought they were prompt and thorough. However I also felt the inspection of my unit was also an opportunity to find ways to spend more money. I don't blame them for doing that but I felt like the serviceman was trying to get me to spend more money. They did a great job, they were prompt, but beware of the cost once they look over your problem.

tI would say it wen very well. The men were very professional.They were very careful caring the new unit up the stairs because they didn't want to hit any walls or make any dings. I had to lay down for a little while because I was sick and they were quite as mice. I really appreciated their work it was done in a fashionable time and it was done very well.

I did not realize the cost would only cover the first floor ducts. Because the tecticians were several hours late arriving,the company is returning 9/12/14 to clean the upstairs ducts for free. I had a good conversation with Robert Morgan about his ad on Angie'sList. The small print said this is the price for on unit. Most homeowners don't know what this means. He said he would be changing his ad to include pricing for one floor or two floors. This would be clearer. The company is returning to make up for making me wait and the unclear ad. This is satisfactory and I can move their ratings to all excellent. They are going the extra mile.
