This is my second experience with Mid State and just as great as the first. My downstairs HVAC failed and repair was not an option. Called Mid State based on my previous experience and the estimator Chris came out the same day. He was thoughtful, knowledgable, funny, and totally understanding of my problem after examining the system. His price estimate was extremely reasonable and given the weather the next and following days for two weeks were to be in the 90's, arranged for installation the very next day. The installers Brandon and Terrance arrived on time and were very helpful and cooperative answering my questions and most importantly as well, polite and very professional. It is also important to note that not only did they do the installation in only 3 hours, they also sealed my first floor vents and resealed my main duct trunk and branches in the crawl space to minimize or eliminate escaping air. These were extra services that other HVAC companies charge for but Mid State did these for free as part of their complete installation and service. Mid State is a family owned business, operating since 1970 and their approach and treatment of their customers is "old school", the way it used to be back in the day, except their equipment is new age technology. One added benefit of using Mid State is they are an approved, certified TVA contractor and participate in the E-Score program, Based on the work they did, both paid and free, I will be getting a rebate through them and E-Score for almost $300. As a long time resident of Nashville/Franklin, I prefer to work with local businesses who live in our community and provide this type of service. I highly recommend this company.

My husband came home from work and the heat had obviously gone out. He looked on Angie's list and found this provider and that they even had a deal for a service call. They were at the house within an hour! Amazingly professional, and even had the part on hand to make the repair. Our heat was back on in no time. We decided to sign up for their service plan as well. Definitely recommend!

I set up an estimate appointment with ease, and the rep came to the house a few days later. We discussed the options. I have a bonus room over the garage, but the rest of the house is on one level. The great room has a 14 foot ceiling that makes it hard to keep cool in the summer. He took measurements and calculated the size unit we need (2.5 tons I think) considering square footage and sunlight. Basically, the HVAC price plus installation was $4491 and the mini split for the bonus room was $3500. That also includes 2 maintenance checks over the next year to make sure everything works properly. The workers came out a few days later and were prompt, professional, and friendly. The house is much cooler with the new unit, and I just wanted to wait to see how it handled a few hot days before doing a review. They did a great job, and I would use them again.

The woman who answered the phone when I called to scheduled the cleaning was very friendly, and the response was quick, scheduled within the next couple of days. They came on time, were extremely friendly and professional. The air ducts were filthy to begin with; after they were done, the ducts were spotless. They even told us where we could purchase filter material that we could cut to size for our intake vents, which would help to keep the ducts clean.

We needed to replace our old heat & air unit. I wanted to make sure with the expense of a new unit, I got the right company to install it, and also do the things I thought would be important if the unit was to run as efficient as possible. Inspect the duct work, registers, and returns for any leaks, and seal as needed. I thought this should be part of the install. Mid-State was the fourth company that gave us an estimate, and had two more scheduled after them. Chris the advisor for Mid-State came out, and spent about two hours doing his calculations, telling us about his company, and answering any questions we had. During his visit I did not say anything about the things I thought were important as part of the install. Did not have to, Chris did, said they would check the duct work, registers, and returns as part of the install. None of the other companies that had given us estimates said anything about doing this. I canceled the other two estimates I had scheduled for later, and went with Mid-State. The price was higher than what we had budgeted, but the warranty was better than the other companies I had seen, and I liked what I had read about the company. The bar had been set pretty high with Chris, and the installers lived up to that bar. They explained how the unit worked, installed the new thermostat, explained how it worked, and checked the duct work, and sealed all the registers. They even leveled my other unit I have for the upstairs. I have no reason to expect anything less in the future with the twice a year inspect of the unit, and would recommend Mid-State to anyone needing Heat & Air service.

Great - I have had 3 different servicemen from this company; they are all very polite, professional and seem quite knowledgeable about the furnaces & ac units.

I have hesitated for 2 years to write this review, but every time I log in to my Angie's List account I get a nuisance reminder and can't proceed until I close the pop up window requesting this review. I hesitated, because while the company was very nice, they were lacking in many areas, but I don't like saying bad things about people. My mom taught me if you can's say something nice about someone than don't say anything at all. Unfortunately, Angie's List doesn't give me that option. So here we go. The annual cleaning for my unit was adequate. My disappointment was with the scheduling. They scheduled for one day, but never showed up or called. I called them to inquire. They never called me back. I called again a few days later and they just rescheduled. This time they did show up.They were late for that second scheduling attempt, but got the job done. There was some heavy marketing involved too. I don't like that part. I don't want to look at a portfolio of payment plans and new unit features. If I did, I would request that when scheduling. My schedule is too hectic to work with this level of professionalism, so we have used another company over the past couple of years. They arrive when the say they will and they get the job done. That works best for my busy lifestyle. I wish this company all the best. It could be that the special pricing just swamped them with new service customers and they had a hard time keeping up! Like I said in the above text, they DID get both HVAC units serviced and that was without issue.

Wonderful experience. Clay came out for a service call and ended up staying and taking care of the HVAC issues that day. He was thorough, honest, and perhaps the most polite human I've ever encountered. When I replace my older HVAC unit (sooner than later), this will be the company I go with.

They did what was listed in the special price

The transaction and service was seamless. The only down side was that the service could only be scheduled in the afternoon, not in the evening or weekend, so I had to take off of work. Brandon, the technician, was punctual, professional, and courteous. The entire visit was perfect. I only wish they could schedule at a more convenient time.

Cole and Marvin arrived even earlier than the time we'd been told to expect them. They donned shoe protectors, introduced themselves and came in to assess the job confronting them. Checking the intakes, they suggested we would benefit from a new kind of filter that eliminates 97% of particles, including dust. They told us we would experience much dust relief from just getting the ducts cleaned but much of the dust are very small particles normal filters don't pick up. They showed us a "thick" layer of dust inside the intake behind the filter. We agreed to try one of the new filter systems out. They explained there is a 90-day trial period, during which we can have the system removed at no cost and have our investment totally refunded. They then set about cleaning all vents in the house and installed the filter system in one of our three uptakes (which services the rooms in which we spend most time). They performed the work quickly, competently and even cleaned the dryer vent without additional charge. They also explained all the work they did and what we could expect from having it done. Based on the quality of the service, we plan on using Mid State to maintain our heating and air conditioning system. We will recommend them to friends.

Cole and Marvin went above and beyond. They not only clean and sanitized the air ducts, but also repaired a air return vent at no charge. I would highly recommend Mid State.

They came and explained everything they would do and cleaned all of the ducts and even cleaned the dryer duct for us... We couldn't believe the difference after they cleaned them...they looked like new.. The guys were very polite and informative...if you haven't got your ducts cleaned , do it.. You won't be disappointed ...

Cole and Marvin called and said they could come earlier than scheduled which worked out great for me. They were very personable and professional. Job was done in reasonable amount of time. Left everything clean and neat. Definitely recommend this company for this service. Thanks Guys

They were punctual, efficient, and courteous. I would definitely hire them again.....especially for that promotional price.

There was a mix up on the service sight, home vs work address. The account has my business address but service was to be performed at my home address. After the tech arrived at my work (on time) we discovered the error. I feel this was a equal mistake by both parties. I didn't initially confirm the service address and the company didn't either. But, that aside the tech did come straight to the home address and performed the service in a professional manner. The tech was great and did us a fantastic job. I bought a annual service agreement with the company.

Originally, we signed up for their home duct cleaning special on Angie's List. We found it necessary to re-schedule with them twice, but they were more than happy to do so. Once here, Cole and Marvin checked out our existing filter and recommended that we upgrade, explaining very clearly why a higher grade filter is so important. They gave us plenty of time to check out the upgraded system online before committing to it, and there were never any high-pressure sales tactics used. They were both extremely knowledgeable, and my husband and I both were very happy with the service. We have already recommended their services to friends.
