Description of Work: They were asked to come out and meet me at my other house for a mold inspection. I arrived 10 minutes early and waited an hour an ten minutes for them to show. When I called to ask why there was a delay and to find out when the technician would arrive, I was advised that he had already been there and had submitted his recommendations for work to be done. A woman in the office started to read to me what the technician had written and I asked about the price of the work he was recommending. He had not yet submitted that information and she said that someone would call me with that information once they had the cost breakdown in the office. When I asked why the technician had gotten to my place ahead of the scheduled time that had been agreed to (and why did he not call to say he was on his way or that he had already left so that I was not stuck there for over an hour), I was told that she could not control what time he got there. There was no apology for my inconvenience. When the technician called and left a message, he mumbled some information to the effect that he now had the cost breakdown and wanted to talk with me. He also suggested that he found some black mold and a lot of moisture dripping from pipes under my house. I didn't bother to return the call. This company has done work at another property of mine and at both houses they recommended a lot of work that costs a lot of money. Note: I had two other inspectors come out to the same house within a week of Crossville Heating and Cooling and got completely different information from the other two inspectors - both of whom let me know when they were on their way to meet with me and who stayed on site to talk with me in person. One of them told me that since the house is so new and there is almost no problems yet in the crawl space, I should wait and have it reinspected in another year to see if any issues are appearing. He apologized and told me that he couldn't sell me anything that day, as no work was actually necessary at this point. In fact, both of the other inspectors told me that there was NO black mold under my house and that when it is found in this state, it is almost never the toxic kind. Both of them also told me that the moisture dripping from the pipes is minor and normal! This is one time I am really glad that I took the time to have three inspectors do an evaluation instead of going with the report from the first company that showed up - Crossville Heating and Cooling. No matter what I am buying, if you want my first-time or repeat business, provide better customer service in the office and in the field.

At Crossville Heating and Cooling, we expect our technicians to deliver exceptional service to our customers, and we want each customer to be completely satisfied with the results of our service. While we don’t have many issues, we take it very seriously when we do. We want to be absolutely sure every one of our customers is treated fairly and that they feel they are receiving great value when they call us for service. We always listen to our customers and we greatly appreciate their input. Because of this, we have looked into this situation thoroughly. I am hoping you might return our call so that we can discuss this further, because there are some things that seem a bit confusing. According to our system, you had called in on July 24th at 8:21 am specifically requesting a mold inspection. Our office assistant Anna, promptly scheduled you for an opening that we had that morning, July 24th at 9 AM with our technician Barry. I have pulled Barry's GPS report, and according to this, he arrived at the scheduled residence at 8:43 AM on July 24th and left at 9:42 AM. There is a note on your file saying that both Barry and our office tried to call around 9:15 AM when you had not arrived yet. According to your review, the work was done on July 25th. I think we may have had some miscommunication when it was originally scheduled in which you thought it was the next day, and our office assistant, Anna was scheduling it for that same morning. For this we sincerely apologize. Since the area of inspection was available, our technician Barry went ahead and completed the inspection that was requested. Barry did record that he had found areas of mold and a lot of condensation in the area which can produce more mold if left untreated. We train our employees to not reference to mold as black mold or any other type of mold since there are over 100 different types of mold in Tennessee, and the only way to know for sure what kind of mold it is, is by having a sample sent off to be tested. However, we know that our employees are people and sometimes make mistakes. Barry does not remember referencing to your mold as black mold on your voicemail, but we have made this a specific area of topic in our next training session. We do always offer solutions for mold removal and prevention especially when requested by the homeowner which in this case, you did when you called to schedule a mold inspection. Black mold is common in Tennessee, and if researched, one can find several accounts of this. http://www.myfoxmemphis.com/story/28593580/mold-a-silent-danger-lurking-in-your-home All types of mold can affect every homeowner differently, some effects include dizziness, headaches, skin irritations, allergies, and asthma attacks. Here is a link to more information on mold according to the Tennessee Department of Health. http://tn.gov/health/article/mold1 Another area of concern in which we are following up, is your statement that we did not apologize for the misunderstanding and your inconvenience in regards to the scheduling. Unlike most of our competitors, we actually schedule our calls at a specific time instead of a large 4 hour or so window. Our staff is specifically trained to watch our schedule closely and to always call if we are running ahead or behind on our schedule so that our homeowners are not inconvenienced with waiting on us. If this is not how you were treated, we sincerely apologize. This is also a matter that will be discussed thoroughly at our next training session. I do hope you will reconsider your grade of a “C” for price and quality since you did not ever actually speak to someone in regards to our recommendations or price for any such recommendations or repairs. Again, we sincerely apologize for any unacceptable service you feel you may have received from our company. I would suggest having another inspector to your home, since the two you had mentioned above said “that the moisture dripping from the pipes is minor and normal!” If you have enough condensation in your crawl space that you have moisture dripping, we do not consider this normal or minor. This can cause you several issues in the future. If this is the case, please find another professional to give you another opinion as your best interest is ultimately our number one concern. Thank you for the business you have done with us in the past. We have always valued you as a customer. I was not happy with them. They told me that one was jammed. They said they freed it up but after they left found that the vent was still not working. I then went into the crawl space and I think they misdiagnosed the problem. At the same time, they recommended that I buy a new system which I did not appreciate either because the system was still under warranty at the time.
Description of Work: I called them because I had ducts in the crawl space that were not functioning properly.

Mr. (member name removed), I apoligize for your bad expierience with our company. I do feel that there may be a misunderstanding though. Perhaps this review is for a different company? The last that I see that we have been out to your home was January 6, 2011, when we installed an 80 MFD capacitor under warranty. We replaced the capacitor under your parts warranty and did not charge you any labor even though you did not have a labor warranty through your original installer? The only amount I ever show you paying our company was $49.95 for this service call. Before this on December 16, 2010, we did come out for a service call for your zone dampers. At this point, my technician had found that your duct work had been previously installed incorrectly by a different heating and air conditioning company. My technician recommended getting a repair cost and also a replacement cost due to the poor condition that your duct work was in. You did not want to get an estimate, but we also didn't charge you for this service call at all, due to your unfortuante situation. I do not show were we recommended replacing your system that was under warranty at all. Again, I apoligize for any misunderstanding that we may have had. We value your business, and we would appreciate any opportunity to rectify this and earn you as a customer once again. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can help you with.

My air conditioner decided to break down during the hottest weekend we have ever had ofcourse. We had family in for the Forth of July holiday and it was a weekend. I knew I was going to pay. I called Action whom I've always used c but to my surprise even though I purchased my system from them and used them for years they told me that they couldn't get me to call someone else. I couldn't wait so I called Crossville Heating and Cooling based on good reports from my neighbors. I am so glad I called them! The technician that called said they had several calls come in, but they had multiple technicians running calls and that one of them would get to me as soon as they could. About an hour later, a different tech called and let me know he was heading our way. I thought this was very courteous. An hour later we had air conditioning. I thought the repair would be outrageous due to the extreme weather on a holiday weekend, but come to find out they had to replace two parts that Action had changed about a year ago and it was about $175 less even though it was a holiday weekend! I am absolutely thrilled with this company! The technician was dressed very nice in uniform with a name tag, was polite and professional even though I probably kept him from holiday activities, and was in and out and left everything clean and tidy. The office called about three days later to check on my service and to make sure everything was still working great. The lady on the phone was very nice and professional. I will continue to use and recommend Crossville Heating and Cooling! I know I can count on them to be there when I need them and to provide a great service at a fair and honest price!

Overall it went well. I was happy with their quick response in answering the call and coming out pretty quickly. I have used them in the past and so far have been satisfied. The serviceman did an adjustment to a part that was loose and that made it work again. But their service call itself is $80. He said I might need some sort of small part down the line, which they don't have in stock.

I had four estimates and they were 3rd in price, but their measurement of my home was closest to my own, and they didn't just tell me what I needed, they asked what my needs were and then recommended options. The workers were on time, two of them, then one cut his hand on ductwork and went to the ER for stitches. He did come by after the job to let me know how he was doing. They didn't replace him that first day, but the young man who was still here kept working, and was pleasant. The next day they sent another team in addition to the original man. They finished up second day, left my home clean, locked the gate so my dog wouldn't get out. I had my energy company come in and do an independent inspection. He said they did good work, but I did have them come back to adjust the airflow according to his report. They were prompt on my return followup.
Description of Work: I had them replace all my ductwork in a 20 year old home I just purchased, install a new central air and heating system with high filtration and UV lights for air purification. They were on time and had me completed in 2 days, despite one of their employees getting cut badly and having to go to the ER.

The only charge was for the routine maintenance. The fellwo who came out told us that part that was not functioning well was still under warranty and so there was no charge to replace that part. We had just purchased the home 6 months prior and would not have known the part was under warranty. They replaced that part within one week and did not charge to come back out to replace it. Very prompt, courteous and trustworthy.

I called, the person on the phone checked for me to find out if this accident could be an issue. Upon determining YES, service tech was dispatched and arrived promptly. (All techs from this company are in the habit of either removing their shoes or putting on disposable "booties" over their shoes before entering home.) Tech looked down vent from inside house with a snake/camera device in case it could be retrieved. Not seeing it, he went to basement and retrieved it from unit (object was against fan blade). His total time was no more than half hour. NOTE I have used this company for spring/fall maintenance as well as additional work to HVAC system since 2009. I have never bothered to shop around; they are the best in this area.
