gas leak repair
+ -1 moreHired them to run about six feet of gas line and hook up my dryer. Quoted $425, including $50 to hook the gas line up. They show up and the guy has a gun hanging out of the back of his pants, which was completely ridiculous and unprofessional. They didn’t have enough sense to just pre fabricate the fittings that they needed before putting it through the floor, so they decided to bust a hole in the block foundation of my crawlspace (and leave the mess). The helper pooped in my bathroom, which was just gross and unprofessional. The supervisor finally arrives and says to prefab the fittings and go through the floor. They get a tile saw and hack my tile up as pictured below, seriously leaving it like this and expecting a job well done. I call and ask if that is their standard and they come and repair it. They tell me that they’ll adjust the bill because I didn’t force them to repair the block under the house. I wait for a phone call or bill and hear nothing until over two months later, they call and ask for the full $425. The people that ran the line didn’t even have the right fittings to hook up the dryer, so I bought the stuff myself and hooked it up myself. They want me to pay for work that I did MYSELF!

Did a little checking and decided on Crossville Heating and Cooling. I am sure glad we did! Their tech, Zack Burgess, arrived later that afternoon and had us up and running in no time. Great service, and Zach was outstanding. He answered any questions we had, and explained things as he went along too. He is definitely an asset to the company. We will be using this company in the future for any of our HVAC needs, and will be recommending them to others.

+ -1 morethey engineered the return air size wrong ......smaller than it should have been.......so it made a very loud noise......they said to just use cheap filters as they would make less noise........they did not want to do anything about it so I just paid them to add a second return and it stopped the noise immediately ......the engineering formula is all over the internet to support my complaint so it was not my opinion it was a industry fact....they are good people so I will still use them for maintainance ......I just got caught up in the system of a growing company that depends on the decisions of a person they send out....since it’s just a summer home I did not want to waste precious time going back and forth just wanted it fixed.....

+ -1 moreWe were told the unit was warranty and there would be no charge. The motor that was used n the unit was to big for the unit it burned the motor up It broke and damaged the rabbit cage. It was very cold and we had no back up heat. It took 3 days to get the unit repaired. They had installed the unit on 15 monthes earlier.

He had to replace a part and had the unit running and cooling in less than 2 hours (including the time it took him to get the part). He waited to ensure the unit was cooling properly before leaving. He provided us with great information regarding new units and we will definitely consider them when we build a new home in a couple of years. We are very happy with the service.

By 3:00 PM the new furnace was installed and the dehumidifier was installed in our crawl space. They cleaned up their tools and left the area clean. The men were very professional and polite. We couldn't be happier with this company.

Service is usually $90, I used the Angie's List coupon. I am happy with the service, I asked a lot of questions since I have no experience with HVAC. I come from the world of furnaces and no air conditioning. The service guy was very helpful and answered all my questions. There was an up-sell and I went for it: Surge protectors, Duct sealing, Crawl space sealing and dehumidifier install. (not encapsulation). We'll see how this effects the electric bill in a few months.

+ -1 moreDuring one of the several cold spells, the heating system had shut down due to failed condensate pump. The failed pump had tripped the electrical breaker to the heating unit so that it wouldn't start. I removed the pump and routed the condensate to a bucket so I could flip the breaker and re-start the heating system. It started up, but I was uneasy that it was working properly. The airflow didn't feel strong, it sounded different and was taking a long time to get the house back up to temperature. (The house temp had dropped down into the 40's while the unit was shut down.) Bob, the service man from Crossville Heating & Cooling, went through the system thoroughly to address each issue. He made sure the system started properly, and that the big cage fun was working properly. He explained in detail what was going on and that the system was in good shape. The slightly different sound and the airflow differences were just because of an automatic balancing system installed in my ductwork and that as soon as the house was back to the normal conditions, everything would be the same. He was right and I am a happy customer. Prompt and courteous service, that didn't result in unnecessary expensive repairs and my peace of mind. I will not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Inspected heating system, checked burner ignition, cleanliness of burners, flow of heated air, motor current draw, safety and pressure switch operations.

Description of Work: I originally didn't feel our heat pump equipment was working properly (it seemed to be making too much noise in the process of operating) and one of our registers (the farthest from the heat pump) was not putting out any air. Rob, the serviceman, checked the system and just explained that it was a defrosting cycle that seemed to be making the noise and that was pretty ordinary (he also suggested that the system was probably a little undersize for the house, so we should consider that, if and when we replaced it . But while he was checking the system he found out that the blowing fan was leaking oil, so he said he would have his shop check to see if it was under warranty. They did find out that the fan would be replaced under warranty and we had to pay labor. Rob had to come to our home 3 times before the right parts were sent by the heat pump manufacturer, but every time they thought they had the right part, they sent Rob out immediately to try to do the replacement. Replacement finally accomplished! In reviewing his finding, the servicemen said that a rodent had been ground up by the blower fan and that their was some mold in the unit, so he suggested having the unit and ducts cleaned and sterilized, which his company didn't do but that he would have his company call us and give some recommendations (which they promptly did, and suggested we ask for a discount because they recommend them pretty much exclusively. (The cost of service includes a UV light sterilization system and an electronic air filter that we bought from the HVAC company and that Rob installed, to explain the high price of the service. While Rob was here we brought up the problem with a register not delivering any air. He crawled under the house to see if he could identify what he said was an obvious problem, but he could not identify exactly the problem before he had to go to another service call that was scheduled for him. But he made sure the office knew that we had a problem and that they should send another available service person out. Within a couple days, another serviceman, Marty, did come out, identified the problem and fixed it. This call the company did not even charge for.

+ 0 moreTell us the story from start to finish (10,000 character limit): ddring a routine maintenance check it was discovered that several parts on our 12 year old unit were ready to stop working. after an estimate for a new system we decided to go ahead and put in the new unit. Estimate was given on Wednesday 4-17 and installed on 4-24. Service people were courteous, friendly and respectful. they even vacuumed up after they finished. I would highly recommend this company.

I then went into the crawl space and I think they misdiagnosed the problem. At the same time, they recommended that I buy a new system which I did not appreciate either because the system was still under warranty at the time.
