I had this company come out to the house and work on this unit on May 25th, 2011. The report I submitted for that visit, in my opinion, was fair, but not an overall glowing report of satisfaction of the work that was done. I was however, willing to give this company another chance if I ever needed to. I agreed to this On August 23rd, I stopped by their office and talked with Ms. Joy Kraeske. We discussed their previous visit and some of the situations which had arisen during that visit. I further discussed with Ms. Kraeske my concerns regarding the A/C unit not working again. Ms. Kraeske arranged for another technician to come out to the house later that day to see about servicing the unit once again. Mr. Cliff Brewer was ultimately dispatched to come out to the house to service the A/C unit. Mr. Brewer called me approximately 1/2 hr before the arranged time to see if it was alright to go ahead and come to the house earlier than previously arranged. I agreed to this time line and found Mr. Brewer patiently waiting for me upon my arrival home from an afternoon meeting across town. During my discussion with Mr. Brewer, I found him to be an extremely kind, patient and understanding individual who possessed a very high degree of knowledge of his craft. As I discussed with him what I thought the problem to be, he advised me that he was going to check a couple of other things first, based upon my description of the problem. All of his analysis took less than 10 minutes. He then told me that there was, in fact, other problems effecting the proper functioning of the A/C unit. He told me what the correct resolution(s) would be to properly fix the A/C unit, what the approximate cost would be, and that he had the necessary parts with him in his truck and could have the unit repaired in a very short amount of time, if I agreed to have those required repairs done. I thought about it for a few minutes, while Mr. Brewer patiently waited for me to reach my decision. Then, I gave him the go ahead to proceed with the necessary repairs. In short order Mr. brewer began working on the A/C unit to make the repairs that he had told me were necessary, all while maintaining an EXTREMELY professional and courteous manner, and demonstrating what I believe to be a very high level of competency. I was very happy with Mr. Brewer's demeanor and his willingness to discuss with me the actions that he was taking to resolve and repair the issues with the air conditioning unit. Mr. Brewer had the A/C unit repaired and functioning properly in approximately 1 hr. His detailed repair order was very descriptive and the total overall charges were exactly what he had originally estimated them to be. There were no surprises, as I had experienced previously. Overall, I can now honestly say that I am VERY, VERY happy with Action Air Conditioning Service, Inc., and the work of Mr. Cliff Brewer. I plan on discussing this further, in person, with Ms. Joy Kraeske, to personally inform her of my complete satisfaction with her company and Mr. Brewer, specifically.

Overall, it did go ok. When I was contacted by the service technician, I was told that he would arrive in approximately 20 minutes. He showed up, 45 minutes later, with a helper. After what seemed like an unusually long period of time talking about what they were supposed to do, and the potential cost(s) associated with those activities, the two service men started to work. I watched as they proceeded to talk about how dirty the two units were, what had caused the dirt and debris to accumulate and how much they thought that the units had been neglected. They informed me about the working processes of the cooling units, and how one fan motor was probably burned out. One of the technicians asked me to show him the two thermostats that I had inquired about them replacing. We went upstairs and I showed him the upstairs cooling unit and thermostat. He said he needed to go back to his truck to get something and left. When I got back downstairs and went out to their truck, I found both technicians smoking in the driveway outside the garage, within approximately 10 feet of a gas can. Afterward, the two men continued to work and talk and explain what they were doing and describe how bad everything was. It should be noted here that my wife and I have only had this house a couple of years, and that these air conditioning units were installed by the previous owner(s). After approximately 2 1/4 hrs, the two service men concluded their service work and prepared my bill for what they had done. At this point I mentioned to them to not forget about the discount(s) that I was supposed to be entitled to. When they asked "what discount?", I informed them that, according to their advertising, I should be entitled to a military discount, and/or a discount for being a member of "Angies List". They acknowledged my statement and proceeded to charge me their regular, full price that they had quoted me upon arrival for the work they anticipated doing, and they applied NO discount to my bill. Further, when they left the house upon completion of their work, I found smashed cigarette butts in the driveway and in the grass in the side yard where they had been working. Being a new member to Angies List, I had researched this company prior to my going to their office and meeting with one of their owners to discuss my needs pertaining to getting the air conditioning units serviced/repaired. I found Ms. Joy to be very pleasant and willing to accommodate my needs for their company to fix my air conditioning problem(s). During my discussion with Ms. Joy, I informed her of my becoming a new member of Angies List solely for the recommendation of a reputable air conditioning company within my local area, and that my wife and I are both presently in or retired from the military. I was very pleased with my conversation with Ms. Joy and eagerly anticipated the arrival of her service men later on that same afternoon. I thought that that was a remarkably fast appointment time, and I really appreciated that they were able to come out that same day. I did not appreciate, however, having to clean up the smashed cigarette butts their service guys left in my driveway and from my lawn. (Neither my wife, nor I, smoke.) And, I did not appreciate NOT having any kind of discount applied to my bill, as I was expecting. I know it may seem petty on my part, but I feel that if you're going to advertise that you do something special for your customers, then you surely should do it. Overall, I think that this is a very good company and I do want to continue to do business with Ms. Joy, but I'm not really certain that I would want either of these two service guys coming out to the house for future repairs or service work. I rated this company a "B" in all categories because I do not feel as though my whole experience with them qualified as "Excellent". I do feel that there is room for some improvement in all categories, and certainly in the "customer service" department. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share my experience with this company.

I pulled the GPs for technician for that day and it took him 22 minutes to get there. I am not sure what time he called, most of the time when the are writing up the ticket for the previous customer they call the next one. Alot of people have to leave work or we have to leave a message this way they have plenty of time to meet us. Sometimes when they bring the ticket in the customer has questions regarding the unit. The helper was already with him on the previous job, so instead of bringing him back to the office he took him on the call to watch and learn. Our company policy handbook states no smoking at the customers property and the service manager addressed this matter with the employees. Our discount policy is 10% off parts and no parts were replaced therefore the discount was not valid in this case. We welcome any and all feedback to help us to continue our goal of 100% customer satisfaction.

When Marcus (technician) arrived for the original service call, my husband and I explained the issue we had and what we believed may be the problem. Marcus ran his tests, confirmed our suspicions about the evaporator coil and a leak. He fixed some of the lines to the compressor that were left from a previous service call from another company, and charged the system with coolant to last for a little while. The original call was on a Friday at the end of business hours, so the evaporator coil was ordered that following Monday. It took a week for the part to come in, Sharon called to arrange a time for the technician to come out and install the part. They sent the same technician to finish the work, so he knew exactly what had been done and where to begin with the service. After replacing the coil, he checked for any leaks and fixed them immediately. After he was satisfied that the system was secure, he charged the system with the full amount of coolant. Before receiving payment, he made sure that the system operated properly. Everyone we dealt with was extremely professional and answered any questions we had without sounding condescending. Overall, our experience was everything I would expect true service to include. We will definitely be return customers if we need them again. At the very least, we will recommend them to everyone we know!
Description of Work: The service included replacing the evaporator coil, charging the system with coolant, and checking for leaks (fixing a leak). The date was a follow-up to the original service call approx. a week prior. That visit included determining the problem and charging the system with enough coolant to last the week or so it would take for the evaporator coil to be ordered and arrive.

Action Air was fantastic! They replaced a coil that had a major leak. Unfortunately, it was not under warranty by a couple months. They ordered the part and came back to install in a timely manner. The same day it was installed, we heard a load bang followed by a lack of air flow. Called their 24 hr line and technician came out at 10:30pm and rechecked the work. They found a blown capacitor. They replaced the capacitor at no charge and double checked everything a second time. Technician was friendly, helpful, and fixed the problem. Despite the late hour he was pleasant and professional.

On a Saturday our heater started making a very lound noise. I called Action Heating and Air that evening not sure if I would get a hold of someone. I was pleased to find that I got a hold of a person and not an answering machine. We disscussed the issue, and they would have been able to come out the next day, on a Sunday, for an additional charge. In order to save money we decided to wait until Monday. The appointment was set for 8am. I was conceirned because I had to leave by 9:30. No only was John 5 minute early, but he found the problem, left to get the needed parts and had it fixed by 9am. He was very friendly and explaind everything. The price was about what I would expect, and the repair has worked fine these last few months.

Our AC was just not cooling very well. We decided to have the system cleaned and checked. Chris was our service tech and was very nice. After having the system charged with freon he told us that we may have a leak. He then checked for a leak and determined our coil was bad. I would have had them complete the coil replacement but my home warranty uses another company. Overall I am pleased with the work done. The only complaint I have is that there is a charge for every little thing done. Despite that I would use Action Air again because of the professional and quality service.

We woke up this morning with no heat. The unit was trying to kick on, but the igniter was bad. I called Action Air at 8:45 and the repair was completed by 10am. Jeff our repair guy was professional and explained to me what he was doing. He let me know up front any charges that I would incur and asked before doing any work. I would recommend, and will probably call in the spring for the A/C tuning.

I had a unit installed by this company in 2006. They did an excellent job. The unit had a dent in the side from shipping. They did inform me of this before I even saw it, but because it was summer and 90 something degrees outside, they installed it and ordered me a new one. The new one was installed about a week later. They have proven to be an honest company.
