In hindsight, Rob seemed to be too busy smiling through incompetence (inability to distinguish the difference between oil and latex paint) and attempting to drum up future business to properly gauge the amount of time needed to complete the job, however he claimed it could be done and work was scheduled to begin the following Monday the 13th at 8:30 am. Monday at 10:30 am, two workers arrived to start the ceiling, stayed for 3 hours, claiming to return at 9:30 am the next day. Again at 10:30 am on Tuesday the 14th, Rob and another employee arrived, attempting to paint trim which had not properly been prepared. After pointing this out, the workers stayed until 1:30 at which time they took a 2 hour lunch break. Arriving back at my home at 3:30 the 2 worked until approximately 8:30 pm. It appears the trim was not adequately sanded, primed or painted as Rob claimed, as the next day the mantel is already peeling. Upon exiting, Rob was rude, belligerent and unprofessional, yelling at us on the sidewalk about paying for paint to which we asked for a copy of the receipt for reimbursement. We have a half finished job that will require personal time or the hiring of another professional, which negates the purchase in the first place. In summary R&R Power Washing, Painting and More including Rob Smitty is unprofessional, incompetent, rude, belligerent, unprepared, makes promises that are unattainable, and does not value his customer?s time. Our interaction with this company is the reason Angie?s List has a place in the market. Angie?s List continued association with this company casts a shadow on its own reputation and the reputation of more reliable painters.

I purchased a half off coupon for 2 painters for a day at $400. When I called Rob that afternoon to set up a consultation appointment he came out the same day with his brother. He told me painting the trim would be no problem and doors would be an additional $5 each. He also asked if I had any more work that I needed done around the house so he could keep his guys busy. I asked for a quote on pressure washing the deck and siding. His guys were on site for 3 days and only pressure washed and done prep work on the trim, even thought he told me it was only a 2 day job. There was a situation with one of his new hires being unprofessional but Rob called me to let me know he fired him on the spot and assured me he would be there himself to finish the job. He painted the trim and doors in one afternoon, as well as stained the deck. He even had his guys clean up my hardwood floors where I had spilled paint when painting the walls myself the week before which I appreciate very much. My main issue was when he called me on the way to the house the last day we had a miscommunication on the price for staining the deck, so I had asked him just to wait and he even said he would go ahead and do the trim and we could get to the price of the deck when we crossed that bridge. When I got there that evening to look over the work on the trim he had already stained the deck and asked me to pay the extra for the materials/work. While his work is great, I would definitely recommend getting written estimates before the work is started. Overall I am very happy with the quality of work done but wish things had gone smoother as far as the time it took and working out the final cost.

The whole process was fast and professionally done. No problems to report. I wish I had time to be more specific, but we were very happy with the bid, the painting, and the final results.

They came and provided an estimate on the spot. They returned when they said they would to do the work. The whole job was completed over a 3 day period.

There was a slight communication gap on color selection for the deck stain, but I attribute that to the difficulty in contracting via telephone versus in person. His work may be excellent but until I see it in person, I can only give him a "B" rating per my realtor.

We were very pleased with the work. They young men clearly want to do a good job and want to please their customers.

I have had Robbie and Andrew do work for me before and really liked the quality and price. At that time I had told Andrew I had more things I would need done later, so Andrew actually checked in with me when they had a break in work to see if I would like them to take care of some of it. He gave me a great price on painting this stairwell so I left the door open for them the next morning and they had it done by the time I got home from work. Not only that, but they threw in the little section of ceiling in the breakfast nook they knew I wanted done also! I was absolutely delighted! As soon as the weather clears they are coming back to paint my new wooden utility shed. These are good guys you can trust and who get the job done right!

It was a large project that took about two weeks. Randy and Andrew (and a few helpers occasionally) did a superb job. They were efficient, professional, and had excellent suggestions about the painting that we hadn't thought of. We highly recommend them.

After purchasing the services via an Angie's list deal the owner contacted us several times to arrange a mutually agreeable date and then inspected the job site and discussed options. Two persons worked over one day (that was the deal). We purchased paint per their specifications in advance. They did more than we expected in a professional manner.

They were professional and clean but Rob, the owner, was not on site. As a result he had to make them go back a couple of times if he saw something or if I was not pleased with something so he made things right.

I originally purchased the two coupons for " 2 painters for a day", but knew the interior that needed to be painted would take more than 2 days. When Rob came out to look everything over, he said he would bring 3 painters instead of 2 and that it would probably take 1.5 to 2.5 days additional to complete the job. He quoted me a flat fee, in addition to the amount I had already paid. The interior included a 16'x23' family room and adjoining entry. Both of these areas have 18' ceilings. Additionally, they painted the walls going up the open staircase and a long "L" shaped hallway upstairs. In all, there was probably over 1,000sf, all of which was at least 9' high, but most of it was closer to 18'. Additionally, they painted all of the crown molding and trim in these areas. When Rob was at the house giving me a quote, I asked him about also doing some additional areas, such as cleaning and staining 3 decks (the highest being approximately 25' to 30' from the ground. Each deck is approximately 10'x23'. The other 2 decks are approximately 12' above ground, which means the pillars also needed to be washed and stained. One of the lower decks has a small arbor and staircase. The last area I got a quote on was to paint 8 shutters. Rob gave me a good price and had Andrew call to schedule painting for the following week. I initially, planned to only do the interior, but thought about it over night and called him the next day to see about scheduling the remainder of the work also. They were able to tie the work into the same time frame. The work is now completed and I am impressed with the results. Everyone who has seen the end results has complemented their work. Rob, Andrew and Cuz, were friendly, easy to work with and made sure I was pleased with everything they did. They even did a few little extras here and there, including a few repairs and dusting my chandelier, etc. They always cleaned up after themselves everyday. Finally, one of the additional extras they did was painted 4 of my porch rockers. That sure saved me a lot of time! I am sure I am missing some of the other "little extras" they did, but hopefully, you get the idea that this is a company that is worthy of your trust. I will call them again, when I need something done.

Absolutely a NIGHTMARE... We fired them before outside work was performed. They hired painters from Craig's List the night before job was to begin gave them a key and never came back. We gave the painters our number when we delivered paint to them because they were unable to get in touch with Rob (R&R). Painters called us when job was finished because they did not get paid. We called Rob to meet us so we could pay them. Of course they should up then only to find the people that actually did the work were there for their money. After a very heated, loud yelling argument between Rob and painters to the point I was afraid and should have called the police, I paid the painters and Rob (R&R) the balance only to get them out of my house.

Their prices were good and all and they were really nice; but it wasn't the best fit for what we wanted.

Outstanding paint work, professional and friendly. Will use their service again. Very satisfied, thanks again guys! My wife was very happy!

Do expect this company to continue doing excellent work.Do expect a fast response.

The job took about 4 hours. One guy washed the inside windows while the other two did the outside power washing. I have a lot of shurbery and flowers around the house as well as furniture on the porch. They removed all the furniture and were careful about the landscaping around the house. Great Job!!

Rob was very professional and on time. He went out to my house while I was at work and looked over what I was requesting. He called with an estimate and started the job the following Monday. He had three assistants besides himself. They did an excellent job and even pressure washed my front walkway. They also painted my trim on house at eaves, etc. and the pergola looks awesome. They sprayed the final coat and sprayed the stain. They cleaned everything up and my house looks like it has just been painted and the deck looks new.

I didn't know if I would survive another round of my husband removing popcorn and having messy looking ceilings when he was done, as well as having to clean up after him! So I hired R&R and Robbie did a great job. Talk about neat, I don't think any of that wet popcorn ever hit the ground, even though the floors and furniture were all protected with drop cloths. The ceilings had never been smooth-finished, so there was a lot of mudding and sanding involved, and remudding and resanding as well. It took several days, during which time I left the door open for him to come in and work while I was gone.While he was at it, he cleaned the light and exhaust fan fixtures before replacing them, and cleaned and spray painted the vent work before replacing them. The ceilings now look so pretty I like to just stare at them while I am downstairs on the treadmill. (I am sure the facination will eventually wear off.) Robbie also did a wonderful job on my kitchen ceiling. Lots and lots of mudding and sanding, then the primer and ceiling paint. He made friends with my dogs while he was there too, and now they are hooked on greenies! Bottom line is everything went very well and I am extremely pleased with the results. As a P.S. he is going to come back and smooth my bedroom trey ceiling, like he did the kitchen, but I just need some time of the house being back together before that project is started. It is included in the quote.

Rob Smitty is the owner of this small business. He brought out a portfolio of his work with lots of pictures and references. After I hired R&R, they came out exactly when they said they would and while there to clean my patio offered me a great package deal for the porch and pontoon boat. They did a good job and I will definitely be calling them next time.
