Happy Home Repairs specializes in small to medium maintenance and repairs. Happy Home Repairs is dedicated keeping your home Happy, you Happy and us Happy. Try us once and you'll come back for more. I have over 40 years wood working and skilled trades experience (hobby and profession). My son has over 15 years in skilled trades and apartment complex maintenance. We do all work no subcontractors. I'm sorry you feel the work was sloppy. When you hired us you had already fired the original tile contractor for poor work and excessive added cost for the tile you chose. You knew we are a handyman service and not a full time tile installation company. You told us that was fine as you needed to get the tile completed so that you could put the house on the market shortly. 1x1 glass tile in a diagonal pattern is EXTREMELY difficult to cut and place. You were told we preferred to not work with that tile but would help you as best we could due to the time frame you needed to get the work completed in. Yes we did have to go back and place about 20 (out of about 3000) partial pieces of tile that were 1/2x1/2 or smaller that didn't stick the first time, that is normal when working with very small tile. We addressed all of your concerns and grouted the tile. You were vey pleased with the end result and asked us to do some other work for you to help you finish up some the many unfinished projects you had going on. Our price was less then half of what the original contractor was going to charge you to do the same work. Tile work is not exact even in larger tile, grout lines give you a way to adjust tiles to give the illusion of being straight. When you look at any tile work the grout lines very in width and tiles don't always line up. From a distance none of that matters and you end up with a satisfactory end result.

Description of Work: They installed a backsplash. They did a great job and we live it! They were professional and offered suggestions to make the project better. My only problem was that Doug wasn't always prompt about returning emails or calls. He was pretty busy, though. I would definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: Instead of installing a faucet, I asked him if he could repair the current one which was dripping. He said he could and did. I wasn't satisfied with the way the one he repaired worked so I asked him to come back and he did. |However, instead of making the one he did work like the other one, he made the other one work like it. I don't think they are right but at least it no longer drips.

[member name removed], Thanks for the review but I would like to clarify what are are saying. You purchased a Big Deal faucet replacement and ordered the wrong faucet. You did ask me if I could repair the existing faucet instead, I informed you we could but it wouldn't be parts from the faucet company but a third party that makes replacement parts for all brands. They sometimes don't work the same as original parts and you were OK with that. I also told you I would honor the Big Deal price. I went and purchased the parts and installed them for you. You didn't check to make sure they worked to your satisfaction while I was still at your home. You contacted me a few days later and informed me that they didn't seem to be the same height and the hot water didn't turn on until it was full on. I told you I would get new valves and replace them again at no charge. One of the valves did turn out to be faulty and didn't turn on correctly. I replaced them a 2nd time and asked if you wanted to check them before I left. You said no as long as it wasn't dripping it was fine as you seldom use that sink. If you still weren't satisfied you should have contacted me, I'm sure we could have worked out a solution.

I'm sorry we weren't able to return your calls. It can happen for many reasons, usually an inaccurate phone number or we sometimes can't understand the message. I did check my caller ID and don't find your name listed. There are also times we are so busy we aren't able to return calls for several days, if we haven't been able to contact a customer within two days we don't follow up as they have usually found another company to do the job. We are a business of only two people that has to do all the work (office, estimates and repairs). We try to do as many repairs as possible and do them correctly, this only allows us to get to a limited number of customers.

Description of Work: I had a window that would leak when it rained really hard. They had someone available to come out when I called so they showed up within the hour. He looked at the window and supposedly repaired it then left. In the meantime, the bill got buried under some other mail and it wasn't found for a couple of weeks. As soon as it was found, payment was sent through the Bill Pay service with my bank. About 2 days after the payment was sent I received a rather rude email from the owner demanding payment and removing my Angie's List discount. I promptly emailed him back to apologize and let him know the payment had already been sent. He never responded. And, a few weeks later when there was another heavy rain, my window still leaked. I wouldn't use the service again if they offered it for free.

I'm sorry you feel that way about the work and the reminder to pay. The work was completed by caulking what looked to be the problem area, you were told that if the leak wasn't stopped to call us and we'd come back out. You never called I assumed the work was completed to your satisfaction. The condition of the window and the surrounding wall was very bad and had been leaking for a long time. These can be very difficult to diagnose and repair in one trip. As for paying we accept payment by check or cash only. You stated you didn't have a check and would put it in the mail the next day. The work was completed on 8/9/2013 not March 2, 2014 as you stated. Yes I did send a reminder on 8/26/2013 requesting payment and removing the discount. I finally received payment on 9/04/2013 almost one month after providing the service. Bill pay services that send checks can take up to a week to receive. If you did send an email telling me the payment was sent I never received it. When your payment did arrive it was for the discounted amount and I accepted the payment in full.

Description of Work: They replaced and repaired my back door and a leaky gutter along with finishing some transitions between rooms. I was extremely happy with the work and their demeanor. I am definitely going to use them again and would recommend them to anyone.

Description of Work: Excellent work. I came to happy home repair through Angie's list and after interaction with other contractors. I needed repair work to a door frame which unfortunately was deteriorating significantly. Happy Home Repair provided a wonderful and calming experience to what would typically be stressful. They were true to their prior reviews in that they were true to their word, in all ways reasonable on their price, showed up exactly when they said they would and were highly organized and clean.
