Description of Work: Trim painting, installed receptacles and small plumbing job. Guy that showed up to do the estimate was very nice and professional. The person that they sent to do the painting was a different story. He didn't put down any dropcloths and dripped paint everywhere. Some places he didn't do any scraping, you could flake the new paint off with your finger. He also threw cigarette butts all over my yard which was great with a one and two year old running around picking them up. I called about the shoddy paint job and the office was very nice and apologetic. Imagine my surprise when they sent the SAME guy back to fix it. He tried to clean the brick but spread the paint everywhere, now I have a big white spot. Also for the electrical job, I had to supply a small piece of romex because it wasn't considered in the bid. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Description of Work: On June 16, 2011, I contracted with Honey-Do Services to replace the roof on a home I own at 112 Lexington Ave., Bristol, VA, for the amount of 3748.84. The company requested a 50% deposit for materials, which I foolishly paid with my check # 1644. Although I contacted them many times, and was told I was "on the schedule", no work was ever done on my roof. After speaking with my insurance agent and filing a complaint with the Virginia Better Business Bureau of Roanoke, I finally had to hire and pay another contractor to complete the job. Over the time period while I was trying to get work done for my money, I also incurred several thousand dollars damages to the ceilings and walls in the house, and lost a nearly new electric stove that was shorted out by leaking rainwater. My BBB complaint was answered by someone named Kathy, no last name given, and then I was referred to Brad Fluke who represented himself as a member of "Corporate" for Honey-Do. He plans to do nothing in the way of repaying me for money stolen and losses incurred, blaming it on a "former" owner of the company. If "corporate" wasn't aware of the way their franchisees do business, they are not doing their jobs. Since the company plainly states I am out of luck, I plan to continue to pass on this story to anyone who might consider using this company for anything!

Description of Work: Replacement of damaged exterior wood and complete house painting.

Description of Work: Called for an estimate on dry wall for living room. The quote was twice more ($1300) what it should have been. Living room is 11 ft. X 30, no fixtures in ceiling, no old celing to take down. Materials would have been $200 or $250 at most. I have heard from others that got quotes for various jobs, that they were very expensive. Didn't believe it until now. I have used them in the past for various jobs. Never a problem with price or quality. As a result of this I will not bother to waste my time with this company. Maybe since they have franchised into other cities, they have raised their prices. Who knows?
