Terrible expensive

I'm very pleased with them.

No service performed. I called twice for them to come and repair a plumbing problem and both times I was told that someone would be calling me to setup the service time. I never recieved a call from this lousy company. I am still waiting (not really, I went with a professional company). I believe this company is incompetent and obviously cannot handle a service call, although their add is misleading, it does state 24 hour emergency. I had an emergency and called them at 12:10 pm and again at 1:00 pm, each time I was told that someone would call. I WILL NEVER GIVE THIS COMPANY A GOOD RECOMMENDATION NOR WILL I EVER USE THEIR SERVICE!!!

The electrician showed up on time and was pleasant and professional, but started by trying to sell me a service contract. His presentation was excessive. When he got back to the reason I called him in the first place, he said there would be a charge just to figure out what was wrong. I said fine. He found the short in less than an hour and charged $320. To fix it, he wanted another $853, bringing the total to $1,173.00 for about a total of 4 hours work. We were about to have an Open House Christmas party, so I needed the repair made. He did have another man with him when he ran the new wires. The plaster around a light switch was damaged and he did not re-install an outlet he had pulled from the box. Having wired a house myself (in my younger years) the cost was, in my opinion, way too much.

Gene Love was a total rip off. I think they prey on people who don?t know anything about plumbing. I had a dripping tub faucet, it needed the washers replaced. I called for a price; since the service call was only $49 and the job was simple, I asked them to come out. The plumber was a really nice guy but wanted over $200 to replace the faucet using a ?kit?! I kicked myself, paid the $49, and went to the hardware store and bought new washers and springs for $3.50. Move on the next plumber.

Horrible experience. Did get the drain open and working again for a while. The person who came said that the pipe needed to be replaced under the house and gave me a huge estimate for it. He could not explain to me why the drain pipe needed to be replaced. When I said I could not afford that amount, I was asked a very inappropriate question concerning having someone else pay for the repairs. I could not wait for this person to leave my home. I wish that I had called the company to let them know but I was a little uneasy with the whole situation.

They did not perform the service due to the exorbitant price.

I called Gene Love late on a Friday because of strange noises from my plumbing system. They arranged for a plumber to come out on Saturday. He found that a previous homeowner had installed smaller pipe with a lift system rather than correctly fixing a ruptured pipe to the main, and the lift pump had died. He offered to either replace the lift pump that day or (his recommendation) have his supervisor estimate replacing the pipes to the main. I decided to wait until Monday for that estimate, and I was impressed that they didn't expect to collect the $50 estimate fee unless I decided to go with someone else. Love's original estimate was $3300 and required going under landscaping that I would likely lose. A different company estimated $3000 to go under the house's crawlspace and come out in front of the landscaping. Love's estimate for that method (not knowing the other company's price) was over $5000, based on their book prices. When I told the supervisor the other company's price, he made a quick phone call and then agreed to match the price. They also recommended replacing the incoming (original galvanized metal) pipes for an additional $500. Considering that the lines would already be exposed this was likely excessive, but was less than another plumber would charge to do the work from scratch. They expected the work to take a day to a day and a half. It ended up taking two and a half days. Communication was okay but not great, and I had to call to ask about progress. The supervisor was upfront and honest whenever we spoke. The work was completed three weeks ago with minimal damage to landscaping, and I've had no further problems.

At first glance, it wasn't good, they did not show up for their appt. but, someone called us to let us know that there was an emergency. When the man showed up, he did the inspection and shared the issue. As others have claimed, he did have a book for the prices, but I called my father in law to describe the work and the price. He is a contractor and thought the price was fair. We did get a discount if we signed up for their service agreement. I am not sure I appreciate that, but the work was done quickly, he was neat, and we haven't had another problem with the shower since.

Pulled them randomly from phone book after returning home from vacation to wet carpet. Leak was slow but steady based on the amount of water on the floor. Called Gene Love and they came out same day. Cut hole to access bathroom plumbing on other side of wall and determined the leak source was shower valve leaking. Asked for price to repair and quoted price would be $1225.00. I told the technician to kindly pack up his tools and give me the bill for what had been done, but I would make other arrangements to replace the valve and stop the leak. Handed a service call bill for 183.00 for 30 minute job. Overall this company is focused on maximum profit with minimal customer value. I would definitely find another company if you are looking for value.

Professional servicemen and the work is ok, but the price is outrageous! The plumber charged $300 to put a reducer on the existing gas line and enclose it in conduit. Preexisting gas lines were long enough. For an additional $500, the electrician tapped off existing outlet on interior wall, installed an outlet on the exterior side so that he could then run the line to the grill where he installed another outlet. Lines were put in conduit; the conduit shows on the outside wall of my house now, not the end of the world, but we have a walkout - this is our patio wall. The grill was located no more than 10 feet from the house. All trenches were prepared by the homeowner, who also did the fill work after the job was done. Homeowner also had purchased 'valve' box to put into ground to house the gas connection because it had a preexisting shutoff control. They were more than one hour late, in fact, I had to call to make sure they were still coming. When I called the office later that day to talk to the service manager, I did not receive a call back that day or the next, so I had to follow up with another call, and finally spoke to someone in charge. He told me that we were actually given a discount at the time of service- that the price I paid should have been higher!!

They are good, I can recommend their service, they are very courteous, friendly and efficient, they come and do the work and there are no problems ever, they are always on time, and they are available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The on problem is that I think the price is very high.

After they told me that, I looked for someone else that would actually come out to look at the problem without diagnosing it over the phone. I would not use them again and would not recommend them.

They have very good prices. They have very good service. They are very professional. They are very respectful of your property. They always show up on time to do the work.

They will always get someone out really quickly. They do very high quality work. Their pricing is reasonable for the work you get. I would recommend them and use them again.

It was just an estimate. But I had to pay for it - and the description of the problem given to me as a result was verifiability false.

I was given an estimate that costs $50 to be applied to services if provided. Not being able to do these things myself because of physical limitations I decided to cut my losses and allow the plumber work. He was not there an hour and a quarter, by my clock, and the bill was broken down as $84 to take seconds to spin disposal blades, $194 to replace the washer hoses, that I provided, taking maybe 10 minutes then $283 to replace two 0-rings on a faucet we only paid $70 for. My fault for not taking the $50 loss and getting someone else but the charges were way out of line. It's in the flat rate book of the explanation of costs. Two plumbers since has said the charges were way out of line. I will never use Gene Love again and would not recommend them to anyone.

The price quoted was $1200 for replacing a single shower/tub valve that was leaking. I purchased the parts and there is a hole, that is left in my wall, that I negotiated to repair. The final cost ended up being $700 for about 3 hr of labor. The plumber could not explain to me this level of pricing, except that is what "the book" says. Be warned that this company charges $50 just for a quote.

They talked me into a monthly plan. There estimates are much higher then others. They were sexual inappropriate.

The pipes were broken under a house that I had just purchased. The inspector had never checked any of the pipes under the house, as the water was not turned on during the inspection. Plumber was there that night to do a repair job, fixed the broken pipes that were pouring water underneath the floor, and then convinced me to buy a new water heater as well. Although it may have been a snow job, he was very courteous, knowledgeable, and diligent, and he was there to help out at 10:30 on a Saturday night. Price was a little high for the original amount of work, but after adding in a new water heater, it worked out to be a pretty good deal. I would recommend them again.

Over all he did well. He was courteous, professional and explained what the problems were and how he would fix them.

I fixed my own toilet. It was two bolts and the flapper, $10. I also decided to go with another plumber to replace the water heater. He did it the next evening, in two hours, for a third of the price. It works fine.

I think that the serviceman did the job right and it only took just one guy to complete the job. I would highly recommend them. I also found the price to be pretty reasonable compared to all of the bids that I got from other companies.

The work went fine. Had to undo under-pinning from mobile home to get under to find leak, but I had taken them to where I was hearing the leak, so they didn't have a hard time locating it. They had to replace a poly-tee (1/2" x 1/2" x 3/4",) that was cracked and leaking. Total time was about one hour.
