Negligent and cost well over $10,000 in damage to my home. I hired Love Plumbing to replace my drain system and they did not connect my kitchen sink. It took me 4 months to realize I had a flood of sewage in my crawlspace. Love Plumbing swore up and down they would make it right and repair the damage but after they brought a cleaning company out, they realized how much damage they caused and stopped talking to me after that.

I'm fine with the work performed but quite shocked at the costs to have a simple replacement of a shower mixer valve done. I was charged nearly $500 for a new $200 mixer, charged $300 to punch two holes in the wall to access the mixer, and another $850 to simply replace the mixer. Great work, but a complete rip-off. And this is after a veterans discount!

If you're looking for fast & affordable service do NOT use Love Plumbing. We were originally booked for service on Tuesday around lunch time but it kept getting pushed back, they were apologetic and I know things are busy right now so we let it slide when they pushed the appointment to Wednesday morning. The plumber was very friendly and professional, I have zero complaints about his service. What I do take issue with is the sky high fees. It cost $608 to replace a garbage disposal. The cost of the disposal is $119 at Lowes but lets be generous and say parts were ~150. That leaves us with $458 in labor... for 15 minutes of work (I timed it). HomeAdvisor estimates 200 in labor on the HIGH end for disposal replacement. The invoice does not break down parts and labor. When I called asking for more info they were not very sympathetic and said they don't go into detail...which is a great way of saying they will charge as high as they think you will pay. This job should have cost half of what it did and I feel robbed. I am sure marketing will respond with something like 'you chose to move forward with the repair at the quoted price' and 'we value your feedback'. But it was early in the morning and I made a poor decision that I now regret by agreeing to their ridiculous quote. This could have been a five star review if their pricing was reasonable but I can only recommend Love Plumbing if you have deep pockets.

Kris arrived and turned water off at meter. Cut a hole in dry wall to expose leak. Cut out a small section of pipe and soldered in a patch. Excellent job. left site clean and orderly when left.

Plumber came out. There were the watermarks on the coupling between the shut-off valve and sink. Plumber said the shut-off valve was frozen, and he could not work on the coupling, but gave a general estimate of $1,000 to replace the faucet and all the shut off valves in the house, since "all of them are probably in the same condition". No effort, did not take out a can of WD-40 or a wrench to see if he could loosen the valve. Gave a D only because he showed-up on time.

During the time that the HVAC system Love Plumbing sold me was under their one year parts and labor warranty, they ignored my calls to send a technician to figure out why it was not cooling the house. I had to pay almost $1000 to other HVAC companies trying to fix the problem. It turned out that the unit Love sold me was too small for my house. There was no fixing it. Within a few months of having paid Love thousands of dollars for a new HVAC, I had to buy yet another system from another company. Tammy Ferris, Love's president, promised to refund my money after they picked up their equipment. Pick up the equipment - the did. Pay me - they did not. Now that Love has both the equipment AND my money, they use this as leverage to force me to keep quiet about this experience. Ms. Ferris is concerned about her company's reputation. Well Ms. Ferris, when you bought Gene Love Plumbing, you acquired a company with a deserved excellent reputation. Good reputations are earned, not achieved by holding a customer's money hostage to force her silence.

Five years ago, Love Plumbing replaced my hot water tank for around $1050. In May, the tank had rusted out and had to be replaced again. Luckily, it was still under warranty. I called Love Plumbing and they installed a new tank for about $1157. The plumber told us that the hot water tank company (AO Smith) would reimburse me for the cost of the hot water tank and he would submit that paperwork. After a month, I called Love Plumbing to ask about the status. They gave me a reference number and told me to call AO Smith, which I did. AO Smith said that Love's should have used the reference number to pick up a new hot water tank from a distributor at no cost and only charge me for installation, which is not what happened. Instead, Love Plumbing gave me a receipt that said " customer supplied tank, warranty replacement" and then submitted a claim from AO Smith in the amount of $402, which they kept instead of reimbursing to me. I promise you that my 70+ year old mother, who was home at the time of the service because I had to work, did not pick out a hot water tank for a gas home, strap it to the roof of her car, and give it to the plumber to install. He picked it up and then told her that is how they always put it on the receipt, something I doubt is true in hindsight. Clearly the $402 that they received from AO Smith should be reimbursed to me but I have called multiple times since June 7 to ask about it and have been told repeatedly that the service manager, Bobby, will call me back, which he has yet to do. Today I called to ask if Bobby actually worked there. He does! but he was out to lunch (of course). I left a voicemail and asked him to call me after 4:00 to catch me between meetings. He never called. I suspect--and had hoped--this could be resolved quickly with a company I have used in the past but now I have call my credit card company to file a complaint because I have to assume dishonesty is at the heart of the hesitancy to call me back. Obviously, I will never use them again and the people who have listened to me complain for the last week will probably not call either. Never mind the billing error, which is reason enough, they earned an "F" from me because that is terrible customer service. Final note, apparently the plumbers are also commissioned salesmen and will try to up sell you products, which happened here. Did I really need a water heater expansion tank? I don't know but I bought one because I wanted to trust the plumber who said it was now required by code and made it seem like a safety issue. Do I trust that he was telling the truth? How can I...I definitely feel cheated. I recommend steering clear.

I have worked all day to find an answer for you and I hope I can shed some light on the situation. Firstly, know that in 2015 the EPA passed a bunch of legislation that impacted the manufacture of water heaters and drove pricing upward. You cannot compare an install from 5 years ago to one from today. Prices on water heaters to providers has increased upwards of 30% because of the new regulations that require water heaters to be so efficient. The other problem this created is the need for an expansion tank. So, yes - Paul was correct in telling you that you needed the tank. All manufacturers recommend that now for warranty purposes. However, I do not know why Paul told you that you would receive the rebate, that is simply not how it works. We purchase the heater at full price to us and wait for the manufacturer to credit us for the warranty. In your case, we are still waiting. Paul reduced the price to you by the amount of the warranty. Our normal price for that install would have been more. But in the end, I don't want any customer to feel like I am dishonest, I assure you I am not. So, immediately I will reimburse you for what we charged for the expansion tank. If this is not satisfactory to you, please contact me personally. I want to work this out with you. Also, please know that we have been communicating with your mother, so there may have been a miscommunication on our part there. Description of Work: My Rennai water heater was acting up by not producing any hot water in my main shower and I called Gene Love. Paul S. was the service tech who came to fix my problem. He found that the problem was in my shower head. He replaced my shower head and the problem was fixed. He also checked out mu Rennai system and found out that it was old, but still working. He presented me with options to have a flush system installed or a replacement unit. I decided to ride the current unit until failure.

I called after my termite inspector mentioned my toilet was leaking into the subfloor and crawl space. I first asked for a ballpark phone estimate, but they would not give one, no matter how much and often I asked. They said they could have a technician come out to provide one, but I then found out that would cost me $50, which could be applied to the cost of repairs. After insisting I was not going to pay $50 just for an estimate, they eventually got "manager approval" to waive the fee because they said they had a technician that wasn't on a job at the time. After spending about 10-15 minutes under the house and in the bathroom, the technician diagnosed the situation as the flange needing to be replaced, the wax seal replaced and the toilet repaired, or for about $150 more, the toilet could be repaired. (He even pushed the toilet with his foot so it would slide and illustrate that the flange was broken and needed to be replaced.) It seemed pretty expensive, but I was in a bind because I wanted to get it fixed before the weekend and didn't want to wind up also paying for subfloor repair, so I went with the option that included a new toilet for around $1,100, all in. (When asked why just the toilet portion was about $600, I was told it was a Kohler and they would install and back it 100%. When I asked about buying my own toilet up the street at Lowe's for $200, I was quoted $325 to install it.) A Noon appointment was scheduled for 2 days out, with an estimate of 4 hours to complete the work. We actually figured out the appointment time of Noon so he would be done and gone no later than 4:00. Fast forward 2 days and Noon rolls around, no one shows or calls. At 12:20, I called the company to inquire and, after calling the technician, was advised his prior call took longer than anticipated and he would be done with it in about 30 minutes and head my way. He was across town, so that meant it would be around 1:30 before he was at my house. I expressed my dissatisfaction that neither the technician nor company proactively called me to advise me of the delay. Totally frustrated, I called a friend and got a reference to Piedmont Plumbers, who gave me a phone quote based on what Love Plumbing had told me and scheduled an appointment for Monday. They estimated the work would take 1-2 hours and, including a new toilet, be in the $400-$450 range. Relieved and thankful my friend knew about Piedmont and I avoided getting taken in by Love Plumbing, I called them back to tell them because their technician was so late, it gave me a chance to call someone else and I would not be needing them. The funniest part of the whole thing?? I know they have to say it, but they apologized and actually said they hoped I would think of them in the future should I need service. Oh yeah, I'll definitely think of them as I'm calling Piedmont Plumbing. The end result was that the flange was in great condition and did not need to be replace or even repaired. The only thing that was needed was a new wax seal ($3.00) and I hour of labor. The technician even took a thorough look at my toilet and said it, too, was in great condition and didn't need to be replaced. What does Piedmont Plumbers gets? A satisfied customer for life who refer them any time and an upcoming job to replace my water heater. What does Love Plumbing get? This review warning people about their business and pricing tactics, and advising to call Piedmont Plumbers or at least someone else for a 2nd (or 1st) estimate.

They did good. He had this machine that we had to get into the house that run this big arm down into the pipe. Not that I minded but I had to help him run it up the stairs and get it back to the bathroom only to use it so that was a little unexpected. I'd rather that he had equipment he could handle alone or in this case, he should get a helper. The price wasn't shocking or unexpected.
Description of Work: We were having trouble with one of the drainage lines and Gene Love Plumbing, Air & Electrical Service came out and got it all cleared out. It was quite and undertaking. They had to take some fixtures apart and then run big machine-thing down into the piping system to get it all out.

The heat man came, checked my pump and said it was fine. He then gave me a bill for $550. They quoted no price to do the work and whenever I mentioned price they changed the subject, until the very end when he had looked at my pump. The next day I called them up and said they hadn't given me a receipt or papers saying what they had done. He said that he would email it to me in 5 minutes, and I have not yet received anything.
Description of Work: I have a home warranty and I had a toilet that was leaking which was covered by this warranty. The plumber came first and fixed the toilet and he was a very nice man. Since they were coming I had them look at my heat pump, which wasn't covered by the warranty but I was willing to pay.

Jacob arrived on time assessed the problem and gave us a price and did the required work. Jacob was very professional and easy to work with. The blocked drain required a lot of work because of the age of the plumbing. When finished Jacob gave several suggestions for preventative measures and was very professional. We will ask for him in the future.

It was the worst experience I have ever had with any workman. First, he told me my hot water heater was totally ruined from water that had run through my basement during the summer relentless storms, and that I needed a new one at a cost of $950, or he could pull mine apart for a cost of $750 and clean all the rust out and put it back together. Then he told me he couldn't get a blue flame. It was orange. The hot water heater could not be fixed nor lit, as it was dangerous. I told him I didn't want Gene Love to replace the hot water heater at a cost of $950, nor fix it for $750, as it is covered by my homeowners policy, and I wanted to check with that company first. Further, that the hot water heater was covered for complete replacement at no cost if it was damaged as he indicated. He said, "You're insured?" I said yes, and asked him to write down his findings on a Gene Love receipt, that I would contact the company that covers the hot water heater for damage, and that they would send a representative to look it over and see if they concurred, at which point they would replace the water heater at no charge using a technician of their choice. As soon as the Gene Love technician heard that his opinion needed to be corroborated, he said, "Let me take another look at it.:" It wasn't even a minute before he came back and told me, upon further inspection, that the hot water heater was working perfectly and had not been damaged. The color of the flame was as it should be. I mean, the man lied boldly right to me face, then did a complete 180 degrees, all inside of a minute. If that's not shoddy and service and fairly criminal, I don't know what is. I would never use Gene Love again.
