Description of Work: Requested to have someone come out to inspected electrical in the house that I just bought that I know needs work done. First he was 40 minutes late. He came and looked at the box (which I already knew it needs to be rewired correctly) looked around at outlets and then walked outside to truck. We had to ask him to test the electric to the pump house and he did not test anything else. He gave us a quote to replace the breaker panel of 2700 dollars. 800 to move a dryer outlet and 1300 to add outlets to my rooms which has outlets but he didn't see any. More like he didn't look very well. I was told when I booked this appointment that they would check my whole house electrical. And that did not happen. I feel like I paid someone 90 bucks to tell me things I already knew. He spent more time trying to get my mom approved for financing than looking at my houses electrical system. I feel cheated.

Description of Work: Plumbing emergencies that I can't fix seem to always happen at night or on weekends. Early last year, the drain pipe split on my old claw foot tub. The technician did not have the correct part on his truck

Description of Work: I have mixed feeling about Gene Love Co. I have used them to performed duct work repairs and the ONE guy did a good job but for 3 hours of work and at most $100 of materials they charged $790. They were prompt, courteous and got the job done. When our sewer tank pump stopped working (since we are below the street sewer line we need a pump to pump the sewage up to the street's main line), I called them to handled this job. Again they were very prompt. The tech pulled the pump out and showed me it was clogged with those supposedly flushable wipes. He clean it out and said the pump was damaged and we would need to have a new pump installed--the price for this would be $1,550. I opted to have him put the old pump back and I would think about a new pump installation. They have a special to clean out a sewer line of $99--so that was a good deal. The tech was right about the pump it failed right away, but I was able to tap on it with a shovel to get it going. I researched pumps on the internet and found that these pumps cost $300. Then I made several call to Gene Love to ask why such a high charge, the guy who answered said he would have the person in charge of plumbing call me back--never did, and since I saw how the tech removed the old one to clean it out and replace it all within an hour, I decided this dirty job was worth saving $1,200. Ordered a pump and installed it in about 90 minutes with help from my son-in-law. I heard from others that $1,500 is the going rate for this, but obviously this is a huge money maker for plumbers. If you’re handy this is easier than installing a faucet.

Description of Work: They attached two shower trim kits (just the hot/cold on off ). $348 for about an hour. This is the third time we used them but the last. The person they sent the last two times had no personality, had little information to share and quoted astronomical amounts for some work. We asked about replacing faucets in a garden tub (indoor jacuzzi) and he was clueless as to how to get the side off to even try and get to the faucet and spout. He then quoted almost $800 to do a job I can do in about an hour. They has previously replaced a water heater in my attic which cost $2,500. They will not quote any hourly rate and will only do jobs by a quoted amount whether it takes 10 minutes or 3 hours. They basically charged me $348 an hour which I probably could have done myself but I was busy and out of town so my wife had to use them.
