Jason came out within hours of my contacting the company. He was professional and friendly and made special efforts to keep the door latched behind him as he went in and out, to ensure my two little dogs were secure in the house. He didn't try to over sell me on anything, and had the unit working properly and the house cooled down very quickly. He even called from his truck before he left the house to let me know the fence gate was still open and offered to close it for me, again to keep my dog safe. He was very professional and thoughtful; the price was reasonable, and I would recommend All American to anyone needing hvac service.

From the technician's professionalism and discussions of options, I never felt that he was trying to push me to a new unit. From internet research I knew what he was saying about the Lennox was true however he was perfectly willing to perform a repair if that was what I wanted. He simply presented me with options and was able to clearly articulate what was good about all of them. Once I decided to purchase the new unit, they were able to get it installed that afternoon. The installers were extremely professional and pleasant. They had to work until almost 9 PM to complete the job but expressed no unhappiness about answering a last minute question by me.
Description of Work: My Lennox AC unit was not functioning yet again. (The unit had been installed by a completely different company 4 years ago.) I scheduled my semi-annual service and the technician who came out explained the problem to me and the cost of the service. It would cost 1/4 the price of a new unit. Since this would be the third major repair on this unit, I allowed him to talk to me about a new unit. The price he quoted for a 3-ton unit (plus the installation and 10 years of parts and labor included) made more sense than repairing the lemon I had. They were able to schedule my install that afternoon, just ahead of the 90+ degree days forecasted for the upcoming week.

Service of 2 units and estimate on coil and another part I can't recall. They quoted me $2K for the fix but recommended a replacement for $4k. I got a second and third opinion and both quoted me less than 1200. I went with the one of the others. The only explanation I could come up with for such increase in cost was to pay for their advertisement and overhead. There was no other justification. The other 2 guys did not charge me for a second and third opinion. Do your research and get at least 2 different companies to look at the issue! Heating and Air companies are some of the biggest scam artist out there. They get commision for selling new units even when you don't need one. Rip off!!

After reviewing the invoice and speaking with the owner I can now reply to this better Our technician did quote $2000 to replace the coil and the TXV on the coil This is a fair price to replace both of these. We use only factory authorized parts for our customers so as not to void any warranties with the manufacturers. We do not offer any commission for selling units. Every technician is salaried and is an employee of All American Heating and Air . We have no contract employees. We do not charge customers for second opinions on new units or compressors. Any other trips to a customer's home is $85 and we waive that fee if the customer decides to let us do the repair.(Free service call with repair) We ask our customers to get 3 quotes prior to replacing a unit as this is a huge expens.Please make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Look at the size of the unit, the energy efficiency rating of the unit, the manufacturers warranty, and if labor is included in the price quoted. I understand you had a different company replace a part for you . I am sorry we could not work together this time and we welcome you to check our prices against any other reputable, qualified dealer for your future needs. In February when I had guests, the heating unit in my HVAC unit quit working, After my company left, I called All American Heating & Air. They had a repairman out the next day that diagnosed the numerous problems, one of which was that the company that originally installed the unit did not wire it correctly which eventually caused it to burn up. The repairman advised the cost of re-wiring & the parts were only about $200.00 less than a new unit. I advised them to install the new unit which they were able to do the same day. This is not the first time I have had to call All American with an urgent request & every time they have come through with flying colors.

My hvac system was down. A representative from the company came out and looked at the system. He gave me a breakdown of the different options I had to fix the system. He encouraged me to use my home warranty to save money even though it wouldnt give him business. After dealing with my home warranty and realizing the true extent of the problem... It was broken and the bandaid being offered by my Home Warrenty wasn't going to fix the hvac, I called American Heating and Cooling. They honored the price quoted 2 weeks before and replaced the system in less than 24 hours. They even gave me several options to pay. I was impressed by their service and willingness to quickly provide assistance.

I called All American after reading their reviews on Angie's List because our heating unit was running constantly. providing very little heat and the electric bills were outrageous. The technician arrived just a little while later. He was nice and professional. After checking the unit, he estimated the cost to repair it would be half the cost of replacing it. I asked many questions and was not only satisfied with the responses but also pleased that the technician was not trying to influence my decision one way or another, he just gave detailed information (e.g. S.E.E.R. ratings, electric co. rebate offers, and payment options.) Based on his information and the age of the unit, I decided to replace the unit. Then a team of about 6 technicians came about an hour later and replaced the unit. They were professional and efficient. They installed the new unit, a new thermostat, explained what they had done, how to work the new thermostat and checked to make sure everything was working properly. I could tell a difference in the temperature immediately and it is not running constantly now! I was very pleased with every aspect of All Americam and will be calling them soon to install new insulation.

As good as one hopes for. Called at 4 PM, appointment window set for 8-12 AM next day. Received promised call at 8:00 AM to alert that tech(Jeff) was on the way. Arrived shortly. Was immediately very amiable, good people skills. Diagnosed problem within 5 minutes, allowing me to watch (I'm curious, not suspicious), showing me exactly the problem. Given that my system is at least 15 years old, we also requested a quote on new unit and ductwork. Jeff was most professional and detailed. No heavy pitch, just good, solid information. I didn't shop price since it was a service call based on good reviews in Angie's List. But the price was OK given what we have paid for other plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc in the past. We don't use such service often, so this only a sample of 1 event for this company. But I will definitely call them again. And we will surely call them for a quote when we are actually ready to replace the system.

Description of Work: I guess we really won't know for sure how everything is until we have to turn on the heat/air. But the overall experience was great. I have other family members that used them last year. They had a problem with a part ---they were "all American" in their reponse - did not use any excuses - came out - repaired the work ext. Please review my comments about the previous provider. We had an SCE&G inspection and they advised us of the shoddy ductwork - the HP was only 8 yrs old - but to obtain proper work we replaced the unit...I trust this company and will provide an update when we turn the unit on...I know it is quieter then the other unit.

Jeff came to the house, checked the air filter, checked the unit for freon, and found a leak at the condenser coils. He suggested changing out the elecric unit with a new $6000 gas unit, but was not overly assertive. He also gave good advice regarding the expensive (thick, hypoallergenic) air filters I've been using and suggested I use the thinner filter, because they are less restricting to air flow (makes sense). Jeff is professional, personable, and highly recommended. Thanks All American!
Description of Work: I had called around to other HVAC service providers in the area and was told that they would charge a $99 service call fee in addition to whatever the repair bill might be. However, All American charged a $85 service fee which would be deducted from the repair bill, so I chose them, because of this paired with positive Angie's List reviews. My AC unit had stopped blowing cold air. I had two pounds of freon addied to the unit, the air filter checked, (i replaced it myself), and the water drained from the filled drip pan. My house was cold again within a few hours of the service call. (It had reached 87 degrees.)

As menitoned above we had a problem with the a/c unit not getting the house cooler than 80. After Bobby put 3 lbs freon in the system the house has cooled down real good. We asked for an estimate on a new unit since ours is about 25 years old and he gave us one. Overall All American Heating and Air won our business with their promptness in arrival, their professionalism in answering my call, setting the appointment and the complete job of the service tech, Bobby.
Description of Work: Bobby, service Technician, was at the house by 8 am and performed pressure test and found our A/C system low on Freon. That would explain why the unit was not cooling real good. He checked the filter and recommended using the type of filter they recommend, He did not try to sell us one just recommended when we change to start using that kind to let the system breathe better. Since we were having the problem of the house not cooling down below 80 the freon was problem. However, freon does not evaporate and he said we must have a leak somewhere. With the age of the unit he said we might want to think about buying a new one. He offered an estimate on a new A/C unit after we asked for one.

I was given time frame after 1200 for tech to show. I drove 75 miles to be there. Called All American office twice to try & determine approx time when tech might arrive. The person in the office just said the tech would arrive sometime that afternoon, she did confirm it would be before nighttime. I felt she should have been able to contact the tech in the field to check where I fell in this schedule. She said she could not do so, but when I CANCELLED she said she would take care of it !!!! At 3:30 pm I found another company, that after I explained the situation had a tech stop by & perform the task & was gone in 20 min. I will be upgrading the A/C system in the $4 - 5 K range and ALL American with see NOTHING !!!!! Greg O.

Member, The extreme heat wave (104 degrees F or higher) put many homeowners completely without any cooling.We did schedule your Heating and Air letter for the afternoon per your request and were unable to give you a better more accurate time frame due to 64 homeowners scheduled without any air at all. When you initially scheduled, you requested a 30 minute notice which we gladly provide for all . We very rarely have this extreme type of heat wave with so many units completely failing at once. July 3rd was one of our busiest days this year and one of the hottest days on record. Toward the end of the massive heat wave we have been having in the past couple of weeks, the A/C began to malfunction. It would not turn back on when it should after being shut off by the thermostat setting. The unit itself seemed to work ok when I put the thermostat setting all the way below 60 and then turned the A/C on manually. This led me to believe that the thermostat was the problem. I called Sunday the 8th. With the heat wave going, they could not get to us until the next day because of the unusually high volume of service calls. But they called us back twice that evening, first to acknowledge our call and find out what was going on. At that time they told us they couldn't get to us until Monday. Since the unit was still working manually, that was ok with us. They called back again later in the evening to double check what they had told us, because they had so many calls that day, and they wanted to keep communication with everyone straight. That was a nice touch, especially since we were first time customers, having never called them before. The next day they showed up in the afternoon, checked out the system to be sure that it was just the thermostat and not something more serious, which was the case. Then they replaced the thermostat. It took about 1/2 an hour. Our new digital thermostat is great, and controls the temperature more comfortably. We should have done this sooner. The also gave us a quote for an annual service contract, and I plan to call in September to set that up. I was very pleased with their service and will use them again in the future to be sure.
Description of Work: Inspected H/A unit to make sure that it was in working order. Replaced thermostat, which was an old mercury type that was far out of calibration and not working properly, with a new digital model.

A technician came to investigate a strange noise that I was hearing coming from my vents and why my house was not cooling. Once he went under the house, it was determined that my air handler was not working to its capacity -- it was not draining properly and so it was full of water and rusted . (I had had previous issues with that air handler and several companies that had worked on it while I had a home warranty, so I was not suspicious that he simply wanted to sell me something I did not need). Within two business days, the company sent several workers to install my new air handler. The men were very courteous and the job was completed within a few hours. One of the workers kept me abreast of what was going on with each step of the process. Once they were finished, all of the debris was cleaned up, and any items that they had to move to access the crawlspace were replaced. I am impressed with how efficient and professional this company is.

First of all, I called around 1:00pm on a Friday. The person who answered was very friendly, but said she could not get anyone out until the next day. She then realized it was Friday and so the next day would be a Saturday. She then offered to check if anyone could get service out the same day and call me back. I received a call back after about 30 minutes and they were able to send someone out the same day! This was a big surprise as another company I called stated they could not and would not send anyone out the same day and really didn't seem to care about my situation...what a difference! Not only that, but I genuinely felt like she wanted to help me. The technician arrived in just a couple hours and was very friendly and professional. He checked the system and replaced a blown capacitor. I am very appreciative they were able to help me prior to the weekend and get things running again. It was a pleasure doing business with them and I will definately use them again next time I have an AC problem.
