Description of Work: They started about two years ago with complete lawn design and make over. We were VERY HAPPY with the results. I did not put a cost down because it would depend on what you have done and what your tastes are, but I will say it was VERY reasonable for what we received. They do a beautiful landscaping design.

She walked the property with me, asked questions and gave me a fair and reasonable price for things I wanted done. Joan was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. She assured me that the work would be done to my satisfaction and it was! They arrived promptly at my home on the scheduled date and went right to work! The crew was fast, efficient and thorough! I especially appreciated the thanks and recognition given to the fact we are a military family. I will not hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for professional lawn or landscaping care at reasonable prices! Thank you for a job well done and look forward to seeing you in two weeks!
Description of Work: Cut the front, back and side lawns, edged, trimmed shrubs and finished with the weed eater for a cleaner appearance. They also trimmed some low-hanging branches from a tree in front of my house.

The fee they charged us was incredibly good for such a good quality work. I was really touched by the way he and his mom cared about my family's needs. We are going to keep on using their services, every two weeks.

They have consistently kept the yard looking good and the azaleas neatly trimmed which is no small feat in this climate. They come weekly during the growing season and as such, the yard and grounds always have a well manicured look. Joan provides the extra care of looking out for any issues around the house and letting us know if we need to take immediate action. I look forward to using them for many years.

+ 0 moreWent well....did a nice job ... Called them for the first time on a Saturday, received a return call on Sunday and they were here promptly on Monday to do the job..... For an extra fee, they will trim bushes and weed around the house....will also have them come for cleanup in the fall... Will continue with their service on a bi-weekly basis...
Description of Work: Cut front and back lawn, edged and used the leaf blower, also put down Roundup on some of the weed areas...

There are so many bad contractors in SC that dont want small jobs or they dont want large jobs, dont have time to call you back, or flat out overcharge you for their services. This looks to be one of those companies. i have read other negative feedback about this as well on their reviews.
Description of Work: Called and left a detail message and never even received a return phone call. I used Mark Wenninger instead and he did a great job If you are to busy to answer your phone or even return a phone call dont list your company on Angie's!

Description of Work: Joan came, surveyed the plants, shrubs, and trees that needed a good manicure, and called me with an estimate. She put us on the schedule. When 6/6 arrived, she came with a team as promised and did an excellent job. All the debris was removed, followed by a thorough clean-up.

+ 1 moreIt went very well the beds looks great. Took half a day and turned out good. The plants really add a lot to our house and lot. Before they left they pointed out the plants/shrubs they planted and explained how to water and take care of the beds.

+ -1 moreBottom line, I never received an estimate and they lied and told me they called and told me job was too big for them They left me hanging for almost 2 weeks waiting on the estimate that never came, nor did the call and my voice mail is not active....see above.
Description of Work: I called a friend that owns a landscaping company to ask him if he was interested in taking on a larger job. My friend, God Bless him told me he was too busy to be able to help me quickly as it is busy season. However, he had a recommendation John Johnstone at Keystone landscaping and Design. So I called and spoke with Joan Johnstone, his wife. She was very kind and explained that she had to have surgery and would it be ok if John came over 8-9 days later to look at the job... So we scheduled an appointment for the end of the following week. I was told at that time that they were busy and it would be about 3 weeks after estimate acceptance before they could start the job... Being that they were referred to me by a trusted friend, I said ok.... So John looks at job, extensively. We talked of solutions and ideas. He said it would take a week to a week and a half for the estimate..... Well, today is a week and a half so I called to ask when we could expect the written estimate.... Joan Apologized and told me her husband had called me the week before and said the job was too big for them... Well, he had not called me and I informed her of this. She said then he left a message oin your voice mail.... I have no voice mail.... I asked what number did he call and she said 798-1828.... My number is a Myrtle Beach number and needs 843 prefix. I informed her and she said he left it in the local Charleston number of 798-1828. Please please please....Anyone in Charleston dial 798-1828 and tell what happens....It is a recording telling you to dial the are code of 843 please. In Short, SOMEONE LIED!! and I have wasted almost 30 days for nothing, but to be back at square one getting estimates.... Either she lied to me, or he lied to her and she unknowingly passed the lie on to me. Either way, Completely unprofessional....They need to take design out of their name...

Description of Work: I just emailed for a quote for some light service. Spoke with Joan, and although it will end up being more cost effective to do the work myself (it's a really small job) Joan not only pointed me in the right direction to do get the material myself but she also made sure I had instruction on how to do it and advice on how to be successful with it. Seriously great customer service and in the future if I have any jobs large enough to hire out they will be first on my contact list!

She arrived promptly on Sat, gave me an estimate and told me they would be able to do the work on the following Mon or Tues. Due to rainy weather, they were not able to come until Wed, but again they arrived promptly to do the work. She kept me up to date on their schedule due to the inclement weather. They sent me pics of my yard, as i was 1400 miles away at that time, and had hired them based on Angie's List reviews! My yard looks immaculate! I would recommend Keystone Landscaping in a heartbeat, and will contact them again when yard services are needed! Do not hesitate to use Keystone Landscaping! They are AWESOME!!!!!

+ 2 moreKeystone is rather extraordinary. They are extremely professional, hard working, and very thorough. They are, just as importantly, nice people with which to work. They clearly know what they are doing and how to accomplish it.. The proof is in the results; the hedges, beds, trees, etc., look fantastic. Everything was left neat and clean. We would clearly use them again; as a matter of fact, we have asked them to do our lawn and yard maintenance in the future. We highly recommend them and have already recommended them to a friend and neighbor.
Description of Work: Keystone removed a number of overgrown bushes/shrubs, trimmed hedges, raised tree canopies, picked up leaves, mulched beds, and put on finishing touches.

As we walked through the yard, they offered suggestions and recommendations listening closely to our feedback. The estimate was prompt with the details and list of plants that would be used. On the day that they was agreed upon, they planted all everything and arranged the mulch and were done before we were home from work. It looks amazing and we are very pleased with the service and overall look.
Description of Work: They designed the layout and then planted the trees and flowering bushes that were agreed upon. It turned out very well.

+ 0 moreI don't normally ever write reviews or comment (I don't even have a Facebook account) but Joan and John did such a great job with our total landscaping project that I had to this time. Joan and John met me at my property to discuss the project and exchange ideas. I had a rough idea of what I thought I would like, but was so happy to hear the experts ideas of plants, placement, beds etc. With these ideas and overview of the property in mind, they left to plan a design. I emailed Joan and she took the time to review some of the plants I liked and take the ones that would work and include them. I had a few changes along the way, even the day they arrived to do the work, but at that point I felt so comfortable with them, I let them loose to do what they thought was best?and I am so glad I did! They went above and beyond with design ideas and use of material I had (small stones that were used as beds) into some practical uses to prevent erosion and a beautiful border. I would highly recommend using them and letting them do what they do best, landscaping and design. Thanks Joan and John!

+ -1 moreI used Keystone to install several glass block windows in my basement. That part went well, and they also added some installation to the others that I had done several years ago. Those older ones were installed very poorly and they basically had a clear path to the outdoors, no telling how much heat was lost through them. Heat bills were much better this past year. I would definitely use them again.

Joan & John have been taking care of our property since 2012 but since April 2013 have supervised the care of the property. Joan has called me to keep us informed on what needed to be done & did it. My husband & I do not know what we would have done without them. There is no way we could have kept up the property for our realtor without them. If I could clone them & bring them to MA we would. They are conscientious, caring people. I wish for them more clients & future success in everything they do. Anyone who hires their company will not be disappointed. + -1 moreWe have recently started with Keystone as our prior lawn service decided to no longer do residential work Joan and John took the time to listen to our concerns and wishes as to the height and frequency we wanted our lawn maintained. We are impressed with their professionalism, promptness and quality of their work. They are careful to let us know prior to their arrival so that we can bring our two little dogs inside since they have access through their doggie door to the fenced back yard. Also, if we are going to be gone, we trust them to put our little ones in and let them out again when finished. We look forward to a long and successful relationship with them.

+ 1 moreContacted Chris in April 2013 about a concrete pad and an entry stoop to the back door of my garage. He responded right away and scheduled to look at the site and give me an estimate. We agreed on a price and scheduled a date. unfortunately we were constantly rained out on every occasion, finally we were able to pour in June, all went well. Chris knew that my intent was to have a Graceland garden shed site built and asked if he could submit a bid . I gave him all of my reqirements for the shed, which was a lot more than than the Graceland standard design, and he submitted a bid that was $700.00 higher than the Graceland build. But we got a great looking building, not a shed. My house is 75% brick 25% siding. Chris built it with siding and trim that matched the house, a conventional pitched roof with 12" overhang. Fascia and soffits are vinyl/aluminum covered. The only exposed wood is the double door entry which is pressured treated. The inside is huge compared to the Graceland building and because of the standard roof pitch and the overhang I will be able to put in a loft for storage. The wife is very happy with the appearance and I am very pleased with the quality of construction. Chris White is a great guy and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him on this project.
