I called Kessler Plumbing and got a very quick response. John came to my home to check out the Master toilet, two gas fireplaces and the well pump. He was great! He not only fixed the problems, but also took the time to educate me on these items so that I was more knowledge about my home. The price was very fair and reasonable. John and Kessler Plumbing will be my plumber from now on.

They were high rated. The guy that came did a good job the first time he came and I had no problem with that. I had bought a faucet for my sink and when he came back to put that in, apparently there was something with the faucet, but it was a normal faucet from the place I bought it. He said that there was a little piece that no longer screws in, but just fits in and he came back twice for that and then said that he wasn’t coming back again to fix it because it had to be replaced or something. He put it in, but it had a leak in it and I finally determined that the leak was coming down the hose that goes to the sprayer. It was coming from the faucet part and there was a little piece on this faucet. He said that if he had brought the faucet, he would have taken care of that, but because I bought the faucet he said he could not fix it. It would have been the same faucet he could have bought, but would have charged me more. He said I needed to call and get that part and I could just probably put that in myself. I think it was the owner of the company that came back because the second time the guy that came back to do it, so he got his boss to come back and do it. He was the one that said he would not come back. He did not fix the part and it is a little thing which is about 2 inches long and fits between the water faucet and the hose. There was supposed to be a discount that I did not tell him about and probably should have. The worker put in the faucet and he did what he was supposed to, but the second time the worker and the owner could not figure out where the leak was. John was the worker that came out and he did a good job. I spent about $200 for the kitchen sink faucet and I already spent $172 when they fixed the faucet. The original things that I got fixed was the washing machine faucets, the outdoor faucets and the cut off valve on the house and he did a good job on that. I thought the price was high, but plumbing is high everywhere. He came when he said he would. I did not think that the owner was professional and I would not use him again because I did not like his attitude.
Description of Work: I use Kessler Plumbing LLC on the 12th of August and the 22nd of August to install a kitchen sink faucet. They also came back on the 7th of September.

Response from Kessler Plumbing LLC
The member was very nice to us. She had purchesed a faucet from a local home store. The faucet we installed was defective and went out three seperate times to repair without charging any extra. We are not responsible for defects in parts we ourselves do not supply. The leak itself was on the sprayer line where it attaches to the faucet. We repaired by furnishing an o-ring. Manufactuers have warranties in place to prevent consumers from added cost if there is a problem with their product.

'I first called Gregg on 11/10 when our gas water heater sprang a leak. He stayed on the phone and talked me thorough turning off the valve to the leaking (hot) side. He came first thing the next morning, repaired the hot water pipe and we agreed it was time to replace the unit. Gregg recommended we install a tankless water heater and we agreed it was the most cost-effective and earth-friendly decision. He left to order the unit. Two days later, he came on time, removed the old tanks and all its' parts, installed and checked the new one and gave me an easily understood lesson in the new technology. He even called Rinnai to double check on an extended warranty and a rebate. He cleaned up everything and hauled off the trash. And after he left my house, he want to my neighbors house to check on a problem there. Gregg is friendly, skilled and a true professional.
Description of Work: Gregg first diagnosed the problem on the phone, came to the house to repair and then recommended a replacement of the water heater.

The owner Gregg, inspected my very old water heaters and thought they should be replaced. He was able to provide me with a tankless model which heats the water as needed saving money in the long run. He and his crew arrived on time and stayed until the job was completed. I did have an issue afterwards on a heating duct which had been loosened by one of his workers but not fixed. He responded immediately. I really liked having the owner of the business doing much of the work and being there while his crew and electrician did their work. Afterwards they removed my two old tanks which were hard to get to in my old house. They were courteous and clean. I would use them again.

After getting a water bill that was over three times our normal amount we hopped on Angies list and went looking for a plumber. We selected Kessler Plumbing LLC after talking to a few other companies because he was very responsive and the price he quoted for the work was well under the other quotes we recieved to re-plumb the entire house. After turning the verbal quote into a written contract it was just a day and a half before Mr Kessler was at our house to begin work (the day and a half included time to pull the permit for the work). The work took right around a day and a half and before knocking off after day one Mr Kessler made sure that we had water to wash and cook with - only our spare bathroom had yet to be re-plumbed. the work was wrapped up completely (including cleanup and everything) the next afternoon and we were VERY satisfied with the results. The icing on the cake was when my wife was worried that there might be a leak in the attic about a week after the work was completed (there was an odd almost dripping sound in the cieling above our master bath), Greg Kessler was there the next morning after our call to climb back into the attic and confirm that all was well - the sound was actually the new pipe expanding and rubbing against the 2x4 it was bracketed to as hot water rushed through it. There was no hemming and hawing about when he could come look, he just said he'd be there the next day and he was. I could reccomend him solely on his good and prompt work or his competative price but its the visit a week later to check his work without hesitation that makes me reccomend him - thats just great customer service and a sign of someone who stands behind what he does. Something not all contractors (plumbing or otherwise) will do. anyway - the wife and i are are very happy customers of Kessler Plumbing LLC and his card is on on the fridge just in case we ever need him again. Thank you Mr Kessler

He was quick to find the source of the leak and didn't make it into a bigger issue that it was. Just a simple fix. I've never had a more pleasant, up front, fair experience with a plumber before. In fact, I plan on using him again when we replace our countertops, rather than use whom ever the countertop people use.

Sent Kessler an email last week describing the problems I was having with the old control valve and based on his estimate and our schedules we set up today as the best day for the replacement. I wanted a Moen valve system due to the life time warrenty. Kessler emailed me photos of the proposed unit for approval. His installer, John, called to let me know he was running about 30 minutes late and once he got here he worked steadly to install and test the new valve. Due to the original installation, when the house was built he had to enter the wall behind the tub/shower unit. He was very careful to keep the area clean even though it was a storage closet in the FROG. He made sure the unit was fully operational. Since the shower head was new and the connecting pipe in excellent condition there was no reason to install the one that came with the control valve. I requested and he replace the old connecting pipe in our Master Bath, which was showing signs of pitting and rust, with the one that came with the kit. The caulking he applied was professional and the lines clean and straight. He did an excellent job of cleaning up all work areas.

They are very good plumbers, we will call on again.
Description of Work: I had work done on my newly installed tub/shower. They work quickly and don't overcharge. They were efficient and professional. I also like the fact they didn't leave a mess for me to clean up. The $150, is a rough total to the two times they came out. I will definately be using them again. I also liked the fact they are willing to travel to W. Ashley from Summerville, without charging extra.

WOULD NOT USE AGAIN as they overcharged for the work and for the results in my opinion.. They were nice, came quickly, did good work (on the leaks), but were overpriced and I still am not sure it was the proper solution to what I needed. they fixed some leaky pipes on well pump which was done well (at first only charged $80.00 for that) however, came back to replace the pressure switch that same day (after talking to their boss), and then we were charged 343.00 (total) for fixing the leaks and for just replacing a pressure switch! So it went from an $80 fix (the leaking pipes) to a $343 dollar fix. My boyfriend replaced my pressure switch for me (at another house) recently, and it took no longer than 1 hour!!! Kessler charged for over 4 hours. And the switch was not regulated correctly (it cycles on and off every 10 seconds or so when only using the back yard sprinkler…Cycling that rapidly could burn my well pump up as per lots of google searches i did on the internet). As a quick fix, I use both the front and back sprinklers so that it doesn’t cycle on and off. Also, at first, prior to coming back to replace the pressure switch, they also recommended that we buy a new pump which we did not need (at least not yet). Having said all this, however, the young men that came out to do the work, were very nice and polite. However, all in all, we were very disappointed and would not use them again. I feel like the switch/pump is still not running right, but due to my "quick fix" of using two sprinklers to get more water flowing (and thus stop the cycling on and off), we are going to wait to fix anything else. I did call the company to report my frustrations with the work, however, i left a very detailed message that may have gotten "lost", so I never received a call back (i did not ask for a call back anyway). I'm sorry to report this, but feel that is what this list is about. thanks.
Description of Work: Outside Well pump repairs. My well would not prime and water was leaking out of the pipes (thus the reason for not keeping the prime). So called plumber who fixed several leaks, replaced pipes, and replaced the pressure switch. At first, they only fixed the leaks and only chargesd $80.00 which was a good price. However, they said they thought we needed a whole new pump to be fixed completely. Greg was not the person who actually did this job, but two of his employees who were courteous and very nice. They left after fixing the leaks, and all the pipes (nice job on that), and apparently then called to relay the information on the job to Greg, who then said that they should turn around and come back to check some other things on the pump (apparently, Greg did not think that the whole pump needed to be replaced). The owner sent the young men back to the house, since after talking with the workers, he decided that the problem instead may be related to just the pressure switch. So the workers turned around, and came back and spent the next 3 or 3 1/2 hours replacing the switch and then trying to prime the pump to be sure it was fixed (that was after putting the switch connections on backwards). I must add that the workers were extremely nice and polite and were very hard workers (it was a scorchingly hot day), so i hate to say anything negative about them or the company, however, i will create a report just to document things as i understand it. The pump cycles on and off now unless i put both the front and back yard sprinklers on, so i think that the pressure regulator switch needs some adjusting now (however, due to the cost of this pressure switch replacement, have not asked Kessler to come back and adjust....actually when i called to ask about the cycling of the pump, they told me that was normal and would ensure it didn't overheat.) I have done research on the internet and found that to be just the opposite. Constant cyclying like that would burn the pump up. so anyway, to make this long story short, i felt that $343.00 for the job and not even getting a new pump was way too expensive (especially, since the pressure switch is not set up correctly and it causes the pump to cycle on and off to quickly).

Very pleased with both workers. They were courteous and arrived on time.
Description of Work: They checked out our master bath toilet which plugs up frequently and gave recommendations how to unplug or possible future replacement. At that time we were also having an infestation of black heart-shaped flies in our other bathroom. Evidently the flies were nesting in the shower drain sludge because this shower is only used when we have company. All of the recommendations I'd read about on the internet hadn't worked. The drain was flushed and no more problem.

Description of Work: John was great he called before coming out to the home! Which was a plus for me because we do not live at the home yet because we are working on it. He was on time! I had new countertops installed and it switched the disposal from right to left. That left the existing pipe extended to the wrong side and required lots of pipes to hook up. I did that work myself. Eventually it started leaking and was extremely slow to drain. I called Kessler Plumbing and scheduled an appointment. They told me their rates and gave a time estimate based on the information I provided. They came out, cut the pipe and routed everything the way it should be done. Sink drains really fast and no leaks. Performed the work in just under an hour. Good honest service for a reasonable price. I will use then again if and when I need plumbing service.

Gregg was very professional and well-spoken--called me right back, came when he said he would. He found the cause of a leak in bathroom plumbing that had been caused by a "handyman" who had worked on it previously. He was hesitant to blame the other worker, but did show me the re-used pipe that should have been replaced and explained how the initial "repair" could have been accomplished in a more timely manner. He and an employee accomplished the repair (which included crawling under the house to look for the source of the leak) in a little over an hour. A very pleasant repair experience.

I originally called Kessler Plumbing for a quote to install a new vanity and possible plumbing changes.... Quote was very reasonable however I didn't have enough room for the vanity I wanted... so back to the drawing board. My water heater stopped dispensing hot water on Thrusday night. I immediatly e-mailed Gregg and he put me on his schedule for Friday ... His morning job took a little longer then anticipated but he did call to let me know he was running behind. When they arrived, they had all the parts they needed already in their truck, and fixed me right up in about 30 minutes. I would deffinetly use their services again - although hopefully I won't need to!... Thanks guys!

I was impressed with Gregg's quick response to my call, even though it wasn't an emergency. Price included 2 supply tubes and Angie's List discount of 10%. I was especially impressed with how clean the sink was when they were finished.
