Really disappointed in Homewerx. Over a year ago I had a roof issue, ended up being loose ridge vents which homewerx came out and fixed for no charge so when a new leak sprang up my automatic response was to call homewerx. I don't know if there has been a change in managment or what but the person who answered the phone asked if he could call me back within the hour, I said fine. About 3 hours later I finally recieved a call back and he was very apologetic, things got away from him, would still like to business etc. I was told that he would give me a call back and tell me when he could come out and look at my roof and that they'd be able to do the work the next day. I have yet to speak to anyone again despite follow up phone calls and messages. Very disapointed as I recieved great service last time.

Saw that Homeworx was well rated on Angie's List, added them to my group of 3 quotes. Called for an estimate. Took 3 days for them to return my call (wish that was quicker). Frank came by to discuss what would be done and gave a well described estimate. On Our scheduled work date Billy and crew showed by around 8:00am. 11 1/2 hours later I had my new roof installed. They did a nice job cleaning up and I'm very happy with the end result.

I don't know how many roofs they did in my neighborhood and when I saw the work they did and when they came to talk to me, the first thing I asked them is if they are on Angie's List. I have used Angie's List for a couple of things and I've been very, very happy, they want to help you and if you have a problem, they are right there on the ball. They were good, the work was done and it was done well but I was promised it would be clean as could be when they left and I found a few that made me stop but everybody came and cleaned everything up, it wasn't a matter of maybe an hour or two from the time I saw until they were going again, that included the owner and everybody. They were on the spot and corrected it. They had done at least 10 houses in this subdivision, they did a great job for everybody, they were really good. I would use them again and I would recommend them too.

Just bought our house and decided on new roof late December 2012. Frank Speck/Salesman for Homewerx came to the house and presented. We were told they offer a lifetime warranty on their roofs and use a new product, Tiger Paw as an underlayment. Their sales pitch was that this product is so strong it will withhold a hurricane if the shingles blow off that no water will penetrate underneath the Tiger Paw. Frank wrote up an estimate and had us sign it. Reviewed other roofing companies and received other estimates. In the meantime Frank called us reapeatedly several times a day. It came down to two roofing companies that we felt comfortable using but the and quot;Tiger Pawand quot; is what sold my husband in going with Homewerx. We liked they were certified GAF contractors and the lifetime warranty. We made sure we asked about the Carolina codes, the application process, water and ice felt, etc. and they guaranteed that they follow the South Carolina codes and the proper application would be done. The roof was completed in one day, Frank stayed on the site and the owner, Billy Martin came after the crew left due to shingles needing trimmed. Paid by credit card and were not given a receipt nor the warranty. We were told they would dropped it off the next day. Weeks went by and still no receipt or warranty. We called Frank many times and were told that Mr. Martin would be sending us the receipt and warranty. Left messages with Mr. Martin and never once received a return call. In March 2013, three months later after a heavy rain, our roof leaked and had rain come through the laundry room ceiling. Called Frank and someone come out that evening to tell us there was an exposed nail and pinhole in the flashing and they and quot;repaired it.and quot; We were not satistied with a repair being done on a and quot;3 month oldand quot; roof. Called the owner, Billy Martin to explain why we had a leak and what was going to be done since a repair was not acceptable. We were told that the roof was fine and nothing more needed to be done. When we started questioning him on the application of the shingles and if the Carolina codes were followed he would get frustrated and hang up on us. When asked if the roof was inspection and was told it was, we asked for a copy of the inspection. He again became frustated and said he didn't have it in his back pocket and would faxed it later that evening. After many calls to Mr. Martin and Frank and each time ending with them hanging up on us, I filed a complaint with GAF who quickly got to the bottom of the problem. Found out Mr. Martin never registered our warranty,which has to be done within 2 days of completion and therefore inspection was never done by GAF who holds the warranty. Do make sure you ask all the right questions and find out exactly the installation and products being used on your roof. Do make sure you get a receipt and warranty up front or do not pay in full. Have them explain the process of getting the warranty. Homewrex is very unprofressional and would never recommend them. They will beat your door down to get your business but if you have a problem you will get no response. Wish I would have hung up on them when they called repeatedly to get my business like the many times they hung up on me when they couldn't answer my questions!

Couldn't have gone better! Showed up on time, very professional, cleaned up all debris and were done in one day!

After arranging for work to be done; Homewerx personell started work the next morning, well prepared to work. Cloth was placed around the house to help prevent a mess. There was a large trash tub on site to throw in all the removed materials. They also replaced all rotten lumber at no aditional cost. Dan Edwards was there the whole time during the roofing and was able to answer any questions my wife and I had about the job. As well, Billy Martin-Supervisor was there to check on the roof several times . After the roofing was completed, the workers cleaned the area to include running a magnet to pick up any loose nails and roofing materials not caught by the cloth. Dan Edwards walked around the house to review the work with me The next day I found a few nails in the front and back yard and some trash in my screened-in porch and sunroom. I called Dan Edwards about this; the next day Billy Martin came and reran the magnet in the front and sides. Billy Martin could not get into my back yard because of my gate. A few days later, Dan Edwards came and reran the magnet in the back yard and the sides and front again. Dan, also, vacuumed the mess in the screen porch and sun room. I was well satisfied with the work and the attention Dan gave to the job. I will highly recommend Homewerk to my neighbors and friends. I will use Homewerk in the future. I had met Dan at the 2012 Fair, he was very professional and friendly to talk to about roofing. I called Dan about looking at our roof and he was out the next day. He gave us a quote on repairing my sunroom and a quote for the whole roof. I thought the quote was little pricy, but in the long run I believe the roof will pay for itself. After a few days, I called Dan back and told him,we would like for Homewerk to do our whole roof. We are very happy and pleased with the work Homewerk preformed. P.S. Dan Edwards,also, informed me of a $300.00 rebate from GAF for Veterans to help bring the price down.

Frank Speck lacked professionalism and follow up. Roof looks OK, but they failed to do a magnetic sweep for nails and left a bucket full in my yard. Had to have them come back to clean up. Also, caused extensive damage and mess to attic when installing ridge vent. Failed to instruct me to cover any of my furniture and items stores in attic. Attic is covered in tar paper, sawdust and nails. Frank dismissed this as what happens when a ridge vent is installed. Would not recommend this company to anyone. They installed quickly, but lack follow through, proper care and clean-up and customer service.

The area around the ridge vent and several nail holes was filled in with roofing caulk. When they said that was it and started walking back to their truck, I asked what the cost would be, the answer was nothing. They wanted my business when it bacame time to replace my roof and hoped I would consider them. When a neighbor asked if I knew a good roofing company, I quickly recommened Homewerx. They found that one of his ridge vents was almost completely torn off. They put it back on, re-nailed and caulked it. They also gave him the same answer they gave me, no charge, we just want the big job of roof replacing.

I would recommend them to anyone who did not want to worry about whether their job would get done.

We had purchased a solar roof vent and needed it installed. We had called another Angie's list Company to give us an estimate, but he never came as promised. Homewerx came when promised to give an estimate which we found to be resonible and then came back as agreed to preform thte work. We were very happy with services preformed and the quality of work. We will definately use them to replace our roof in a few years.

Even though we haven't had work done yet, they have provided excellent service so far. They are very knowledgeable and have returned all of our phone calls. They have been extremely helpful as I've never had to deal with anything like this before. Their knowledge has really helped to ease any of my concerns.

They told us that our ridge vent was bad and that our flashing had been poorly done. The gentleman told us we needed a whole new roof, even though ours is only 6 years old! He quoted us a price of around $6,600 for a new roof. He was professional in his presentation, but it was essentially a sales pitch. He even pitched us a financing offer. We contacted another roofer to get a second opinion/quote, who fixed it for a mere $375. The other roofer said our ridge vent was fine and was built to withstand 150 mph winds. Since the other roofer fixed it, we have not had any leaks, even with days of very heavy rain. We are very grateful we did not take Homewerx's recommendation to get a whole new roof, because we would have been $6,600 in debt!

While explaining the roof repair I needed, this rep was very condescending and interrupted me several times. I should have just given up on this company right then and there because he was giving me a glimpse of their "customer service". He agreed to come out the following Monday morning to view my roof and work up an estimate. Monday morning he called at 7:30am and said he could not come out because it was too wet and he could not go up on the roof. Granted it had rained Sunday but the sun was already out by Monday morning. Also, I told him that he would not need to get up on the roof for what I needed. He dismissed my claim and said he would come out Wednesday. Wednesday came and went, no roofer. Message to company owner: If you publish a phone number in an advertisement and send that ad to thousands, make sure the guy answering that number has customer service skills. Anybody can swing a hammer but it takes a professional to make customers happy. I can guarantee that none of my neighbors will use Homewerx.

they did the job in one day thought I still haven't heard from the person that is suppose to come and inspect there work yet.

Homewerx was one of the most professional company I have worked with. Sidney arrived for the estimate with all the paperwork. He had license, insurance and bonded papers. References, not just 1 or 2 but all that were done. He explained what needed to be done and how. They include the price of plywood replacement not just and frac12; sheet. The quote is the quote no matter what else pops up. Sidney was the only one that brought up the GAF Troops for Rebate which brought the price down even further. Homewerx did roofs in my area and I drove around and asked some owners. All gave thumbs up. On they day of re roof they were right on time with the owner Billy Martin right there with them. From the moment they got out of the trucks the crew were professional and worked with precision that got the job done right. All knew their jobs and you can tell they take pride in their work. Billy the owner was there till the end but really did not need to say anything to them, they were working on it before he could. Billy was there because I believe he wants the customer satisfied. Well between my interaction with Billy, Sidney and the crew I am SATISFIED. I am in need of window replacement and HOMEWERX will get the call for estimates and the other companies better work hard for me to go with someone other than HOMEWERX.

From the very first I knew Frank was the guy who I wanted involved with this job. He was pleasant and very knowledgeable. He was also VERY responsive...if I called him I usually got him first try...if not he returned my call pronto! The crew arrived on Saturday morning at the time they said they would and were VERY thorough with protecting my plants (I have a lot of shrubbery) and once they began, they barely stopped until the job was done around 6:30 Saturday evening. They worked like busy beavers...and they had 2 people on the ground going around picking up debris, shingles, nails etc. and putting them in wheelbarrows which they then had emptied onto their own trailer...no unsightly dumpster...They did a great job! They came, they did, and left...without any trace of having been here. The clean up was superb. I am really fussy and they and exceeded my expectations....I had several other companies who bid the job but their price was the middle of the road but what sold me is that they are trained and certified as "Master Elite" roofers by GAF which means they receive ongoing training on GAF materials. There are only 3 roofers in the Charleston area with this designation. Truthfully, even if they had been higher in price I would have chosen Homewerx to do this roof. I highly recommend them to anyone who is fussy and particular about their landscaping and want a quality job which will enhance their home.

The inspector and technicians were on time, professional, and thorough. We have not had any leaks since the work was done, even though we've had several rains.

They came out on time to give the estimate. They thoroughly inspected my roof and seemed to find where the leak was coming from. They quickly caulked the areas where he thought the water may have been coming through. I am still waiting for it to rain to see if the problem was truly resolved. However, they didn't charge me anything for what they did. They were easy to communicate with, and easy to talk to. They were honest with me and seemed eager to help.

I woke up about a week and a half ago with water streaming down my ceiling and wall. I found Homewerx on Angie's list and gave them a call, out of the 6 companies I called this was the only one that had a prompt response with a definite appointment time to recieve an estimate. They showed up on time and quickly started taking a look at the roof and identified the problem and went ahead and fixed it and resealed the loose area free of charge! This astounded us as other companies had given us estimates in the $500 area. I will definitely use this company again and sent their information to a friend who was needing some work done on his house as well that same night.

The owner always showed up on the job site to make sure that everything was going well with the project. Even the neighbors noticed what a great job they were doing! The salesman was great. Everything was great!

Work was scheduled, workers were prompt and completed as scheduled.

great experience! I certainly didn't want to have to spend $$ on a roof (who does?), but Homewerxs was excellant!

Sidney came to our house and gave us an estimate and kept it short and to the point the way I like it. He brought all the information with him that we needed to make an informed decision. He promised no charges would be added at the end and he would do the work for the price he quoted. He was very quick to answer his phone or return my calls with any questions I had before and after the work was done. The day of the job the crew arrived early and tarped off around the house as promised then did a magnetic sweep around our house also as promised. Roof was finished in one day. Roof looks great and doesn't leak anymore!! Also after the job was completed Sidney was quick to fill out an insurance form I faxed him answering questions about the type of roof with hopes of getting a credit on our homeowner policy. I couldn't have asked for a better "new roof" experience.

I did not have any complaints with them. They were not my highest estimate and neither the lowest. They were rated highly on Angie's list. I liked them. The worked they did was good. I was pleased with them. They were very responsive.
