DJ came out for Davis to repair it. As a Control Systems Engineer, I am often disappointed with the knowledge displayed by HVAC personnel. DJ was knowledgable and was able to troubleshoot the system promptly and correctly. We were pleased with his work and contracted for yearly ongoing maintenance with Davis on the basis of DJ's good work.

Before I begin, let me say this: A proper and knowledgable HVAC installation of a properly sized HVAC means EVERYTHING! You can buy the best HVAC system out there, but if the installation (including duct work & air returns) isn't done right, you will never be happy with your HVAC. It pays to have someone who knows what they are doing. We had spoken to the owners of Davis Services earlier this year (2010) at a home show. We were very impressed with their knowledge and professionalism so when we decided we could no longer put off replacing our HVAC, we were equally impressed by their Comfort Specialist Mike. Not only did he have many years of HVAC experience, he was the first person to ever inform us that our main return was undersized. He took the time to properly size our new unit to our house and needs. We have been impressed with his follow-up also. The installation crew were the most professional, knowledgable,& friendly folks that we have ever had to perform work at our house. They were very punctional (which really impressed us) and conscious of keeping our house clean while they perform the installation. They put down plastic sheeting to protect my floors and carpet and cleaned up after the installation. They made sure that we understood the system and thermostat. Mike (Comfort Specialist) had told us that he was sending his best crew and he most certainly did. Mike had told us that we would be pleasantly surprised after the new HVAC system was installed and we were. We now are comfortable with a higher temp.setting on the thermostat and amazed at the air flow from the vents due to the system and the larger air return. The old unit was outside our bedroom and was so loud. We can't believe how quite this AC is and the same goes for the new gas furnance. We can definitely recommend Davis Services in Spartanburg SC for any HVAC work you might need.

Absolutley outstanding!!!! I had six estimates from various services, though Davis was a little bit more money (not much when all is said and done) they were upfront with the cost and did not deviate. The saleman was thourough and completely educated my wife and I about what was involved and about how long it would take. Jeremy was the installer and couldn't have been nicer, very respectful and kind hearted always had the customer in mind. The vapor barrier they installed is nothing like what the exterminators install, this is not your rolls of clear plastic and is installed to stay put and last for years, completly covers all the soil under my house and is heat sealed together and taped. It has been six months since install and the system works great. The company just did its six month check up without prompting and was very flexible in scheduling. Anyone considering replacing their heating and A/C should seriously consider Davis, look past the numbers and consider the quality of life improvement for you house and family.

They gave us a quote for all the things that needed to be done when we moved to this house and we found when we got other quotes that it was grossly exaggerated. They gave us a price which was totally unreasonable. They gave us a price and when we went to the shop they wanted more. They also wanted 75 dollars for working in an awkward space which was a cold space and we thought that should have been part of the quote. So, we didn't like them at all. We have used them in past and we thought that they were very thorough and reliable. But, on this occasion we felt they wanted to overcharge us.

We liked them and they did the job well. They brought us an air conditioning window unit when they knew that out unit wasn?t working at all. That was nice because it was hot. They guys were good and cool. We got quotes from 3 companies and their quote was the least expensive. My husband picked them and thought that the duct work for the attic was included, but it was not. That was the only bad thing we faced. They were responsive initially, but after that they still haven't sent us the manual. We would not use them again in future.

They guys showed up and worked 5 solid days getting one system up and running before tearing out the other system, so we were never totally without heat and air conditioning. Duct renovations were made to insure that our new systems would be able to perform as promised and each system was tested at the completion of the job. These guys have the expertise to get the job right and stay with it until they do. The static pressures and measured performance was well within the parameters we were given at the start of the job when they were finished. We were very impressed with the overall experience. These guys were not the cheapest quote we considered, but we feel we got our money's worth and more and look forward to many years of great service from our new systems.

My AC went out over the weekend, so I came here to Angie's List to find someone to repair it. Davis was well-recommended, so I went to their website and used their online service call form. Within three hours, they had someone out here to look at the problem. It turns out that the capacitor had blown out, which is evidently a common problem with the kind of heat pump I have. The repairman, Jeff, was not only extremely knowledgeable about the system, he also walked me through the process of what could be wrong as he was doing it. He explained exactly what he was doing and why, and give me a ballpark idea of what each possible problem would cost as he went along. When it turned out that it was a relatively simple matter of replacing a blown-out capacitor, he was able to fix it on the spot. The whole diagnostic and repair process took perhaps 45 minutes. Given what he did and speed with which he did it, the price seemed more than fair. He also talked about things he thought I should be aware of in the previous installation, but made no effort to try to sell me on getting it repaired by his company. I got the feeling he was just trying to be friendly and helpful. Overall, the experience was very positive, and I can't think of a single complaint.

I really liked them. Out of three companies, they offered the best competitive price. They had the new one up and running the next day. I also liked the fact that they found some ducting that wasn't put in right to begin with and fixed that as well.

I have saved so much money since this installation. They have done a wonderful job and I am always pleased with the work. The price was reasonable and the workers were very friendly.

I have so many systems, as I have gas heat downstairs and electric heat upstairs. My furnace is actually under the house so they have to get under there and check it. They have come out a few times to change the media filter on our units. This is all included in my yearly price. They are very responsive, and the tech is always great when he comes out. I enjoy their services.

The job went fine until the final bill was written up. On the bill DJ added a $89 travel fee. This fee was never disclosed to me until the final bill was written. I do not see how it could cost $89 to travel between jobs in the same area! I would never use them again because of this "non-disclosure."

I have had no problems since the installation. They were very helpful and I was happy with everything. They were professional and courteous. They are a little pricey but they kept my old unit alive for 25 years so it was worth it. My heating and air conditioning unit died on me on a Sunday afternoon during February and they came out in an hour to remove my old unit and put in a new one. They cleaned out all the junk that was left behind. I have been using their services for 20 year and they are very respectful of my property.

Davis Heating & A/C did a fantastic job for me. They were able to get the job done very quickly. They didn't leave until they were sure the job was done right and the unit was working properly. They gave me a great warranty. Some of the parts had a 2-3 year warranty on them. They didn t leave any messes and they hauled away the old unit for me.

We had been with Davis for several years and they had always done a good job. The technicians were professional and responded quickly to our needs. The problem was that each year they increased their maintenance costs. We could understand an increase every couple of years but not every single year. Regardless of their good service we were forced to hire another company for our ventilation system needs.
