I can't say how happy I am with Shawn's colleague Robert (Bobby) Moyer. Shawn sent Bobby to my home about a month ago to give me an estimate on replacing some old plywood walls between my basement area and the adjoining crawl space. (I believe Shawn himself was already booked up with projects at the time.) The job was delayed because we needed to finish some other work in the basement area before Bobby could begin, but once we were ready he came out within a week. Bobby assessed the job carefully and suggested upgrading from plywood to dense glass drywall for better mold resistance. He listened attentively to my husband and me about what we needed, explained to us exactly what he would do, and, with the help of his uncle, completed the job in just one day. He and his uncle were very polite and professional, and they cleaned the area well once their work was done. I'm so pleased by the job that they did that I've already arranged for them to come out and do another job for me next month.

Shawn promptly estimated the cost. They arrived in 2 days, cleaned the gutters and reinstalled the gutter screens.

I called them on 7/14/2010. No one answered so I left a message. They called me later that day, took my information, and said someone named "bob" would be calling me sometime that day to schedule a time to do the estimate. I did not hear from anyone until 7/16/2010. Bob asked if he could stop by that day at noon, so I said yes. He stopped by on time but did a lot of talking, and very little listening. He brought his daughter with him, who looked very young to be in the gutter repair business. He looked like he just got done working, and his truck was very messy inside. I got to see how messy, when he was digging out crumpled bits of gutter guards to show me. The estimate was VERY low, only had half of the things we discussed him doing listed on it. The estimate did have one item listed on it I never asked him to do.

Swawn and his crew was working on a drywall installation and finishing job (separate report) for a house addition project. Shawn offered to clean and install leaf guards on the front gutters. He performed this work for no additional charge. Shawn is very friendly and responsive to input. He does high quality work.

Shawn was very easy to work with and the screen and door look great. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

The demolition of the old decking and railing was done quickly. The modification to the substructure took several days, but as expected. The decking was installed with a few minor problems due partly to the design of the original deck structure. I was satisfied with the result but regretted not discussing some decisions in more detail. The railing took longer than expected due to manpower issues, weather and some unfamiliarity with the Azek materials. In the end the project turned out beautifully. There was a change in the price of the decking after the contract was accepted due to Mr. Hunt's error in estimating material cost. Be sure he has gotten final costs before signing!

Shawn did the estimate then and promptly provided a detailed quote and pricing. He identified "risk factors" like stubborn wall paper and revealed his hourly rate for additional effort. Once we had 3 other quotes, Shawn' was the most responsive and mid priced. He and his crew pre-scoped the job and they started ion Monday. The removed the flooring, toilet and sink, laid the luan plywood and patched and replaced the trim. The painting, flooring and toilet/sink and vanity were done by Wednesday. They completed all of the work very quickly and professionally. They were very responsive to changes or special needs. Bobby and his helper were very efficient, cleaned up nightly and were well organized and professional. The workmanship was first class and the both jobs turned out better than expected. The charges and changes were identified and the entire job was well done. I would use this contractor again. Highly recommended.

On the last day he was at the house until 9 pm trying to finish up because he had another job lined up for the next day. Well it looked liked he had rushed to finish some of the final touches. The trim on the floor wasn't straight, and you could plainly see the joint and nail holes. The paint job looked rushed and there were a few spots that didn't get painted. The tile job was good. When we called him to ask him to finished the job, he had plenty of excuses and couldn't see why we weren't satisfied. I have photos if anyone is interested. I wouldn't hire him to do any finishing work.

We hired S W Hunt to fix a leaky roof. We already had a guy come look at the leak and give us his guess of what was wrong. But he said he didn't do roof repairs, only installations--we actually had a hard time finding someone who would fix a leak, as opposed to replacing the shingles--so we went to Sean. Sean came out at around the time he promised. He quoted us $500 for the repair. I mentioned that the other guy had identified the problem. Looking back, I shouldn't have said that; I should have let Sean confirm the location of the leak himself. But Sean did fix the leak. The whole job took less than one hour. I feel I was overcharged based on the amount of time the job took. Sean also wanted to charge us another $500 to repair the drywall ceiling under the leak. I found another drywall guy to do that job for much less. I'm glad I didn't get overcharged twice. Eight months later, after a big rain, the roof started leaking again in the exact same spot. We called Sean to come back out and re-evaluate the work he did. After rescheduling once and not showing up at all the second time, Sean stopped returning our phone calls. I feel a roof repair, especially one so expensive, should last longer than eight months. Sean overcharged me the first time and did not stand behind his work. I know he gets high marks from many AL users, but the work he did for me was subpar and overpriced, and now I'll have to pay someone else again to do it right. I have to recommend that you not use S W Hunt for repair services.

The builder didn't caulk around the door on our basement walkup so over the years water caused the wood to rot. Shawn originally thought he might be able to repair the door but after taking off some of the wood trim he realized that the entire door would need to be replaced. Shawn checked a couple of stores to find a door in stock. He gave us a choice between a low cost and higher cost door. We paid for the door over the phone and Shawn picked it up and installed the door. We tried to reuse the hardware from the old door but it didn't fit correctly. Shawn picked up a new handle and lock and installed that as well. Throughout the process I felt that Shawn was being honest and fair.

Very well. Always on time, excellent work habits always 100% satisfied with the job when it's done.

The whole experience was fantastic. Shawn promptly replied to all my calls and emails. He had an estimate ready the same day he saw the work that need to be done. His prices are excellent and his job quality was the same. He finishes a job in a short amount of time. I would use him in the future for any home repair or other similar handyman service.

In the end ultimately pleased, however during the process when Shawn left much of the work to his crew there were extreme delays and the job took much longer than anticipated due to the lack of motivation of his crew. When Shawn was on site good work was accomplished.

He replaced the door that covers the water heater and the hallway. It works well and I have not had any problems so far. However, I felt that the work was expensive.

Excellently. Insurance company was delighted with the pricing, and you can't tell there was ever a problem.

The job was done in a speedy, efficient and neat fashion. We were thoroughly satisfied.

Everything went really well. He did a very good job. Everything went very smoothly. He got the job done quickly and did a nice job. He was very professional and honest. He showed up on time.

The project did not go well. One of the pipes they installed burst and flooded the basement. We were not pleased with the company and will not use them again.

Shawn was terrific. Very responsive and professional from the first moment I contacted him. The quality of the work was excellent, and when we had a misunderstanding about the placement of the diverters, he installed two new diverters at no extra charge. He and his partner Jesse worked quickly, were friendly, and left no mess. I'll definitely be hiring him again.

Took multiple calls to company to elicit initial response. Estimate promised by a specific date. Not delivered. Company called back four days later to reschedule without explanation regarding failure to deliver estimate on specified date. Went with another company that had responded as promised to estimate delivery date.

We had been troubled with a roof that leaked into the foyer whenever there was a hard rain. Called and made an appointment to have it looked at. Shawn called the day before the scheduled appointment and said he could be over in a half hour. Quickly identified the source of the leak, went for parts, and made the repair that afternoon. Bottom line: no more leak!

We haven't had a lot of rain yet but it does look like they cleared the gutters out pretty well. They made sure all gutter connects were secure as well. From what we know so far, it looks like they did a good job.
