+ 1 moreWork that was done was great. However, I was told 1 day to complete the work and it took 2. One part was never completed. On the first day they showed up a half hour after the 1.5 hour window. On the second day I had to call an hour after the time window because no one showed up...explaination was that people were sick, which is fine but they should have looked at their calender and canceled. Then they didn't have the materials needed, so they tried to buy them that day and were unable to.
Description of Work: Replaced sliding glass door; replaced trim on stairwells (2); replace door sweep (never happened).

Description of Work: Two workers removed and replaced a glass shower door. The fee included the price of the shower door, which they picked up for me and installed, first removing old caulk and cleaning the shower really well.

Description of Work: It has been two weeks since Mr. Hunt promised to come and see the work that I want done. Both times, including today, Friday, April 28, 2007, he did not call nor did he come. Two weeks ago, I was off from work and waited all day for him. When I called, he stated that the had called and left me a message saying that he could not come. He did not. There were no messages on my voice mail. Do you understand why I am disappointed. I think that Mr. Hunt is not an honest person. I will not call him again nor will I call anyone on the list. I am and have wasted my precious time. Thank you for allowing me to express how I feel about Angie's List.

NOTE: we have done a lot of recent upgrades to our home and are very aware of what sub-contractors charge. We were so happy with his and his crews work that we added additional jobs! Very capable crew of four. We will ABSOLUTELY use S W Hunt Home Improvement again!!
Description of Work: Finished a closet in our basement including putting up drywall & finishing. Also, placed in a French door. Fixed a double gate for our privacy fence. Fixed a front door entry.

Work looks great will not know if the problem is fixed until the next rain, but from the looks of the job it should be okay.

When the job was complete, they cleaned up the site. Shawn has a great work ethic. I thought his prices are higher than most. He did excellent work. It was well worth it.
Description of Work: Shawn and his crew repaired and shingled the shed roof, repaired and re-sided the mudroom, replaced a wall heater, and resealed caulking around the roof vent.

+ -1 moreMr. Hunt was very courtious and answered my call quickly. He came out the next day and found the problem and repaired it quickly. I thought he was a little expensive, but if the leak is fixed, it is probably worth the money for the rapid service. It has rained once since the repair and no leak. The reason for the higher cost was that he had to travel some distance to get to our house and charged $125 for that distance.
Description of Work: Repaired a leak in a window and door frame. It was caused by a driving rainstorm.

+ -1 moreI called Shawn the day my mom came home and fortunately he happened to be working in the neighborhood. He stopped by and gave me a fair estimate. Unbelievably, he came the next day and within an hour or so the railing was up. I am really grateful. The work was done well and of course he couldn't have done it any faster. Really a nice guy.
Description of Work: Wooden railing secured adjacent to the stoop at the entrance to the front door. I needed a railing because of my mom. She broke her hip and returned home after a stay at a rehab facility. But there was no easy access to the front door, nothing to hang on to on the step up.
