"I contacted KitchenTuneUp/BathTune-Up to get an estimate to remodel my master bathroom and kitchen. Tom Taube came to my home and listened to what I disliked about the current spaces. We discussed ways to make a bigger shower and gain more storage space in the bathroom. In the kitchen, I had dark cabinets I wanted to update but stay affordable. I also wanted to keep my granite countertops. I disliked my "closet" pantry. I received very comprehensive proposals listing out not just what labor was to be performed but also budgeted items for materials so that I would have a full understanding of how much the remodels would actually cost me. I started these remodels right before the pandemic started in March of 2020. And even though there were a few delays caused by the virus, my projects went very smoothly. I was provided an online schedule of activities so that I would know who was coming and what they were doing (when my dumpster would arrive, drywalling, plumbing work, painting, tiling work, etc.). I liked that there was a final walkthrough before final payment was made so that I could address any issues I saw after the work had been completed. Make sure to follow-up in writing any and all verbal agreements on work scope, compensation, etc. On the plus side, he is open to making small changes to the design/build without claiming "change order".
