One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning

We interviewed and evaluated six HVAC companies in the North Myrtle Beach area. Prices were all over the map. Selected One Hour due to several factors including thoroughness in assessing our needs, reasonable price, quality record of the company, reviews on Angie's List, and Best on the Beach selection. Installation was scheduled and performed as expected. Installers were very professional and knew their craft. Everything works perfectly -- hopefully good for another 10 years.

Quickly and way too expensive and poor office management

We have a yearly contract with them so they come twice a year. It was a good price, we shopped around to get the prices. It was good quality or we would not have them back and we do have them back. Everybody responds when I call. It was satisfactory. It is usually just 1 worker.

They're pretty good. They installed a heat pump. When they installed my heat pump the price could have been better, but the yearly service price is ok.

It went very well I'm highly satisfied with one hour. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a reliable AC/heating company. I have used them for a year. They are courteous, friendly and give you a call as to when they will be there. They don't try to sell you anything that is not needed.

It was perfect! The technician Rick was professional, friendly and helpful as always (I usually request him when I schedule the appointments). He has been to my home several times, and I'm always pleased with the service. Thank you SO much Richie Drew (owner) and One Hour staff!

This was a checkup. He did his job well. He recommend a shield for the outside unit and we purchased it. Overall a good experience. The $99.00 was for the shield for the ou=tside unit.

It didn't go. They have not contacted me.

They do top-notch work. They leave the work area clean.

Excellent. The technician explained everything to me,offered me upgrades to prolong the life of my heat pump, and actually did a complete cleaning of the entire system. If your looking for cheap work don't call them. If your looking for a professional company ,the pride they take in there work is nothing less than staggering.

We're not happy with them at all. We don't refer them to anybody. This is under contract. We paid $12000+ to have a new system put in and it's not properly installed. There are all kinds of issues with it. It all goes back to November.

1st Had a problem with my HVAC called my service man he told me that the unit was short and needed to be replaced. Gave me a price of $8,000 and could do it next week. Called me another service agent in the area and he gave me a price for the same unit and he came in at $6,500. and he could do it next week. CALLED ONE HOUR AIR CONDITIONING THE SAME UNIT CAME IN $5,400 AND THEY COULD DO IT NEXT DAY. THEY CALLED BEFORE ARRIVING , INSTALLED THE UNIT AND WAS DONE IN LESS THAN FIVE HOURS. THE FOLLOWING WEEK I HAD MY UPSTAIRS HVAC UNIT TESTED IT FAILED SO I CALLED ONE HOUR, THEY WERE THERE IN ONE HOUR, GAVE ME A PRICE, AND THE NEXT DAY INSTALLED THE NEW UNIT. DON'T CALL ANYONE ELSE BUT ONE HOUR , ALL BUSINESSES SHOULD BE THAT GOOD, THANKS TO TOM DITLZER ,ROGER, WALTER AND THE REST OF THE CREW " GREAT JOB " 10 ++

They were prompt, thorough and explained everything that I need to replace a very old system with a new system.

First, the dispatcher Holly is awesome. She is friendly and professional. She scheduled the service promptly. Jase was punctual, courteous, and knowledgeable. And, he wore shoe covers to protect our floors. The coils for the air handler required replacing, and refrigerator was very low. Jase analyzed the system; then outlined three different methods for the situation. His ability to give details for each method helped us make a decision. Given the age of the unit, the cost of repair, we have decided to replace the unit. One Hour will install that today. Holly (dispatcher) called yesterday to discuss the arrival of the team. This morning, I received a phone call from the tech advising his arrival time.

I was amazed at this company's willingness to come out at any hour and not charge extra for after hours. I was also impressed by their quick response time. They came the next day and it was after 5pm. The representative was professional, seemed skilled, respectful of our property, happy to take pictures of the area needing repair, which was up in our attic rafters where we cannot go, and friendly (just a tad too-familiar/casual but nothing we couldn't work with). We even joined their "Comfort Club" which costs us only $12.00/mo (must be automatically debited monthly from your account) and offers necessary maintenance on a regular basis as well as discounts on repairs. The one problem, which we did run into was that we purchased a $100 coupon through Angie's list at a cost to us of $50, in anticipation of reducing the cost of the job. As it turns out, we were unable to use the coupon because it could not be combined with the already discounted price of the service. (the coupon was less of a discount than their discount and understandably could not be combined the discount) I'm not sure how this problem could be avoided in the future, but it was truly disappointing. I would highly recommend this company to friends and family.

Everything went great. Prompt, courteous. New system works great.

Date of service was approximate. I can't recall. The service guy was basically a very high pressured salesman trying to sell much more than was needed. This company originally installed the unit 15 years ago so that's why I called them. Many items were not done correctly then according to 2 other licensed AC professionals. I would not ever use this company again.

It took 2 days with 2 different crews.All the men were very professional,and friendly.Everything was explained to me in easy terms I could understand.

The service technician, Jason, seemed very nice and went about doing the service. After approximately 1 1/4 hours he came down and wanted to sit and talk with us. He said the good news was that our unit was working but that bad news was he had a whole laundry list of items that needed addressing. I couldn't have been more shocked. We've had that unit serviced, regularly, since we moved into our BRAND new house 10 years ago and no one had ever noted any system deficiencies including another technician from One Hour Heating & Air that did the Spring service (when I mentioned this to Jason he said that he was more thorough). Jason proceeded to go over a very LONG list including a $450 UV Scrubber and a $750 duct work cleaning. The sales tactics were clearly HIGH PRESSURE and PANIC PANIC PANIC type. He kept telling us that there were deals that expired tomorrow, that his crew had nothing to do and could come tomorrow to install the new unit, that we could finance it and it wouldn't affect our credit. He called his boss to get an exact price for everything which totaled over $7000 (which is excessive for a 1800 square foot home) and said that they had yet another deal that would expire tomorrow. I told him multiple times that I had to talk it over with my husband that we weren't going to make such an important decision willy nilly. He kept pressuring me for a date as to when I'd like to install the unit. I finally told him that I had to get my dogs out (they'd been locked in the bedroom from 5 p.m. until well after 7:30) and that I needed to get to bed. He then asked if I wanted to do the repairs then! I am a polite person which is why I didn't kick him bodily out of my home. After he finally left, I grew more and more angry about the pressure he tried to exert. All I could think of is how someone more gullible might fall for such a ploy. I've called the company that initially installed the unit to come and do an inspection as a second opinion. I will not, however, ever use One Hour Heating & Air ever again and recommend that no one else does either!

There services turned out to be terrible. He said the unit was so old I may want to replace the whole thing. The part he was talking about and we had another person look at it and he said the guy had crossed the wires on the outside unit and that it couldn't possibly work anymore. He blew out the lines and did some soldering. He added some freon. What the guy from One Hour Heating did was fraudulent.

came and fixed it for free because it was their mistake.

The temperature was in the high 90s. We called another company who came out in late afternoon of same day and worked into early evening to repair the problem. Here is what that technician did: "Checked system out,found compressor wired incorrectly, and rewired to fix problem. Also found and repaired leak in the heat pump. Unit had bad capacigtor and replaced with new capacitor. Cleaned the indoor coil and cleared blockage in the drain. Unit was also low on refrigerant and added R-22 Freon. Unit working at this time." The company charged $440. Please note that the last company to service the system was One Hour in 08/2014. We were upset with being told that the compressor was dead and needed replaced without any options other than replacing compressor. My husband called One Hour and told them we believed we were deliberately misled about the compressor in order to make a sale. He talked with a supervisor who said he would look into it and give us a check for the Angie's list expenditure of $49 and something stating that we were entitled to a future tune up since the technician did not do one (and we paid another company to do one). That was at least three weeks ago and we have heard or received anything from One Hour. We have been customers of One Hour since they took over the business from Air Experts. I simply don't trust their integrity and service any longer.

The service man came out the same day I called even though I know they were slammed with the heat wave we were experiencing. He gave me a price for the work and scheduled the replacement of the old AC system for the next day. They installation guys came out removed the broken down old system and installed the new one in about 8 hours. They made sure that everything was clean when they were done and even vacuumed the carpets where they had walked. They were outstanding!

Fabulous! He was friendly and on time. He did everything that was asked and provided helpful information.
