I talked with Joe about the pricing, but did not have him come out as i had already made arrangments with another company to come out and give me an estimate. The company that came out wanted to charge me twice what Joe was charging. They stated the reason was because they paid extra for a 48 turnaround where other companies would take three weeks. i called Joe back and he assured me that he could get the same test results in a 48 hour turn around so i went with him and indeed got my results within 48 hours as promised. Thanks Joe so much for giving me the same quality service for half the price!!!

Carolina Aire & Mold Solutions is a family run company that takes pride in their work. Joel Few and his crew were extremely helpful and very professional. Joel came out to give us a free estimate and outlined everything that his company would do. They removed and disposed all of the wet insulation, removed the mold and fungus, and installed a heavy liner that covered the ground and part way up the wall, sealing it to make sure that no water could get in. They disinfected inside the house and the air duct system. They even had an industrial air purifier that they put in the house to clean the air from anything that might come through the vents while they were working. The crew also alerted us to problems that they found in our duct work (some laying on the ground, not properly strapped up, and one that had even come undone). We were able to get this fixed while the crew was there and they made sure it was done correctly. They also alerted us to a plumbing problem that needed immediate attention and made sure that a plumber would come asap to correct it. I am beyond pleased with the job that this company did and I would highly recomment them!

This company was very prompt, professional and easy to work with. The company came out to my house within 24 hours of the leak to prevent further damage. The company was very thorough in their removal of the damage and the drying process. The company also took extra measures to ensure the house was safe for my family, especially my newborn who was only 2 weeks old at the time. After the work was completed, Joel and his company worked with my insurance to get my full reimbursement. I would definitely rehire Carolina Aire and would recommend them to anyone in need of mold removal, water damage removal or any of his other services.

Joel Few and his son Stephen, who runs the Charleston, SC operation, came right away and did a thorough inspection and evaluation. Their quote seemed a bit much, but after they explained what they would do I was amazed. Their crew removed all the old insulation (which was retaining moisture and mold), blocked off all the crawl space vents, put down a heavy duty plastic moisture barrier made from the same stuff as swimming pool liners over the entire ground and up the walls two feet, sprayed an environmentally safe insulation the rest of the way up the walls (left termite inspection ports), and installed a small heating & A/C vent from our vent system into the space. Essentially, they turned the crawl space into an environmentally controlled basement where the humidity cannot enter, and where the old insulation is no longer needed. It took them four days, and they removed the mold from all wooden floor joists, the ventilation ducts and inside the house using a naturally occurring harmless spray. We had some nasty odors in our house and they were eliminated, as we did not know that the mold was causing the odors. Joel and his crew were very professional, friendly, and courteous. It was a pleasure working with them, and the money spent was well worth it!!

We knew our “new to us” house needed a replacement vapor barrier when we purchased it so we enlisted Joel’s company to assist with what needed to be done. Joel came to our home and walked through all the rooms, closets, under the house, looked at air returns, etc. to see what was really going on with the house. We had hardwood floors that were always cold and bowed up on the edges; a hallway that smelled and felt like a damp cave all the time. He measured the humidity in the walls and then educated us on what was going on. We needed an encapsulation system under our house! When the job started the team showed up on time every day to get the new vapor barrier completed (took just over a week). Joel was there on the first day to get things started, a couple times during the week, and again on the last day where he personally sanitized inside the house. Everything that was removed from the house, the team bagged it all up and hauled it away. We did not even have to vacate the house during the work due to the process that they use. A week after the job and we are already noticing a huge difference in the way our house smells and feels! Thank you to Joel and his professional team!

Everything went well. Caroline Aire dryed out underneath the house and installed a very heavy vapor barrier. They sprayed inside the house with a safe chemical. They used dehumidifiers to dry up all the moisture. They did a great job. I was very pleased and will use them again if needed.

Great. It was a big project but all went smoothly. Joel and his crew were very professional, punctual and accommodating. We have had a few questions and issues arise months later and they are happy to help and can usually run by within a few days.

Joel and his crew did an excellent job waterproofing our crawl space. He recommended and installed a Santa Fe Compact 2 dehumidifier which removed all excess humidity. Joel even came back to repair torn plastic sheeting done by another contractor. Joel has been out two times, and never charged additional fee for repairs. From start to finish, my experience with this company was superior. The main representative, Stephen, was very thorough with his analysis and recommendations as to how to bring my crawl space in to much better condition, while remaining within a budget. They even threw in a few courtesy services, that frankly many other companies would have tried to charge me an absurd amount for. I'm not saying cleaning a crawl space is ever cheap, but the fact that they were on time, courteous, thorough, responsive, patient with my many questions and requests, and my crawl space looks incredible now...I would highly recommend Carolina Aire & Mold Solutions. They use a non-toxic product to clean up the mold, which is fantastic for those of us who are chemically sensitive. I will likely hire them back for more work in the future.

Excellent. This is a 2nd home. They did the work while we were away. They sent pictures along the way of the project. They came back 6 mos. later to check the work and check the humidity levels: unannounced. House smells so much better!

We had some issues under the house, in the crawlspace. We had some moisture in the insulation. They were going to do an insulation removal as well as install a system to prevent future moisture. They didn't do anything. We just asked them for a quote and we decided to hold off. It wasn't an unpleasant experience, but the pricing was higher than we had expected. There was no charge for the quote.

It went great. We have a very tight crawl space but they were able to get into the nooks. They were incredible responsible and kind. They explained everything to us. And when we had follow up questions, they were on top of it. Great experience. Very grateful to have found them.

The team did a fie job, and even came back to repair a vents that were damaged by another contractor.

The owner, Joel, was extremely responsive and prompt. After an extremely wet fall and unremitting rain, our house had begun to exibit mold / mildew. This had never happened before. Though it was just before Christmas Joel came right away, he tested walls and different areas of the house for moisture, explained his treatment which included an organic compound misted thoughout and a dehumidifier which ran for several weeks. He treated the HVAC ductwork as well. This treatment was effective.

I first found Joel at Carolina Aire and Mold Solutions here on Angies List. I called to ask some questions regarding some concerns I am having with heavy mold all over the drywall in my open air basement that started just six months after the house was built. He spoke with me for a good 20 minutes and made several suggestions including going to Lowes to purchase a moisture meter to test the moisture level in my drywall. There was no sales pressure at all and he made several suggestions of ways I could address the problem on my own. He offered that he would be happy to come out if I did want him to evaluate my situation. I followed his instructions and tested the moisture content. I still had more questions, so I decided I was willing to pay to schedule an appointment for Joel to come out and take a look at my mold and give me his opinion. He made an appointment and came out and spent another 20 minutes walking thru and giving me his opinions on several points and didnt even charge me for the visit. Having just built our home, my wife and I have dealt with dozens and dozens of vendors providing different services. Most left a lot to be desired and 15 months into living in our house we are still fighting some of those battles for work that was never completed or completed improperly. Joel definitely made a great impression on me, and I would not hesitate to call him and use his services if I need to. Without a doubt one of the most professional, upstanding and honest people you can work with. They do a great job and stand by their product and work 100%. Joel and Peggy are understanding, competent at what they do and will always take the time to make sure you are completely satisfied with their work. I first hired them about 2 years ago and they continue to service our home. You cannot go wrong with them- just outstanding in every respect. Call them first if you have any crawlspace, mold or other similar issues. First rate and First Class business.

All went well. We continue to be pleased with the decision to have this type of insulation and service performed on our house. We are going into our second winter of having the new insulation and crawl space enclosed. Last winter, we were not near as sick as we were the years before. The house is no longer damp and musty inside. The air we breathe is cleaner. We weren't plagued with a wet cough last winter. Usually, we would get congestion and/or sinus infections and keep a dull headache. Those days are gone. Our power bill continues to remain stabilized. Even with the drastic 16% increase in the cost of power from our electric company, our monthly bill has not sky-rocketed. Thank you Carolina Aire!

I can not say enough great things about this company. The prices are VERY competitive and everyone involved with the company was very personable and professional. During the initial consultation Joel really took the time to make sure that I understood everything that needed to be done and answered any questions that I had. They were always on time and available to talk when I had any questions. Joel (the owner) personally attended the job to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction. His crew really took the time to do a very thorough cleaning and make sure all of the water and mold was removed from my basement. They did a fantastic job. They go above and beyond to please their customers. After his crew finished the job they waited around for an hour for me to get home (even though they had a very long drive home) just to make sure I was happy with everything they did and answer any questions that I had. If you are looking for someone to take care of any flood/mold issues these guys are it! They dont have a big corporate structure so customer service is FANTASTIC and Joel personally communicates with his customers and makes sure they are 100% satisfied.
