Raymond reached out the day after I made the purchase via email. I responded then began to call him a day or so later (July 1st) to schedule the appointment. His mail box was full so I could not leave a message. I emailed him a few more times via Angie's List asking him to call me. To date I have not heard from him via phone or the message center.

They were great... they got in touch with me the same day I bought the service, called several times to set up a time to come look at the job, were upfront and honest about what they were going to do for me, and pulled the whole job off in about an hour. The guys were a pleasure to talk to as well.

Mr. Pearson was punctual arriving when he said he would. Immediately, work began without hesitation. The painting of a kitchen, living room, breakfast nook and a rather tall stairway was completed in one day. At the end of the day everything was cleaned up and removed and my home was left in its original condition with the improvement of a very professional paint job. I was so impressed by the work that I made arrangements to have a master bedroom painted the following day. This too was done with great care and attention to detail. I would definitely contact Mr. Pearson again for future jobs around my home. I felt that the work which was done was a real value for the dollar. In this day and age it can be so difficult to find someone who keeps their word and has pride in their work. With Ray Pearson I have been fortunate to find such a professional and craftsman.

The work has been good, with one problem discussed below. He is very serious about customer satisfaction, and works hard to set things right if there are issues. The cost to pressure wash my house last year was $200, which I felt was very reasonable (low) given the amount of work. I've done it myself a few times, and it's not easy. He had a crew of 3 or 4 people with him, and it was very hot out, so I felt bad for them. They took several hours to complete the work. My only concern was a few places the overspray left some marks on my door - that went away with time. He did a good job of washing and staining the deck, and was pretty thorough, covering all the exposed surfaces. At the price he quoted, he wanted me to supply the stain. Make sure you get that straight up front. My only concerns with this provider are in the pricing and the salesmanship. He is a little arbitrary in setting his price, and he's much more of a negotiator than I am. The current job started out as an Angie's List hot deal: $249 to "restore" a deck of 100 square feet. My deck is not very large, but it is a little over 100 square feet in plan area. Turns out, his idea of 100 square feet is the area of all surfaces of the wood - deck top, sides, rails posts ... so he immediately began telling me how he couldn't do the job for $249 (even after I bought the stain), and the negotiating began. It was sounding like his price was going to double (or more), so I started to get irked. Then he began telling me about all the other things he could do, and how it would be better for us both if he could do several jobs for me at once. That's how the job expanded to carpet cleaning - something I really needed done. Since I'm not a great haggler, we landed at a price of $900 total (including the hot deal $249) to do the deck and four rooms carpet cleaning. I shook his hand on that, but went away feeling I'd been had. Since I had already paid the $249 for the original deal, I was over a barrel. But, I will give the guy credit - he's not out to gouge you. When I let him know the next day I wasn't happy with the price, he knocked $200 off it. We talked about how the negotiation went, how he was surprised when I suggested the higher number, but was more than happy to do the work at that price. I think he is honest, and really wants to make a good impression and keep his customers. He is trying to build a business. And, when he pressure washed the deck, he also did the patio (rock walls and brick surface) without being asked - just to win me back on his side. All told, $700 is not a bad price for the services he did, it's just the way we got there that was uncomfortable to me. If you're a haggler, he's your man. Now to the problem with the carpet cleaning. His cleaning solution discolored one of our carpets. He pointed it out to me immediately to let me know he was going to set it right. He is insured against such problems, so I expect the insurance will settle this by replacing the carpet. Why would I use him again? I believe he's honest, he's very accommodating, and he is really intent on doing a good job, and on making his customers happy.

I contracted with Raymond Pearson of Seal-A-Deck to clean my gutters. I knew it was going to be a difficult job due to the lay out of my house. Raymond did a excellent job at what I thought was a fair price. I would recommend him and be glad to give him a reference. Joe Satterfield

It was okay, but they didn’t clean some of the areas that I wanted them to. They also splashed dirt on my rocking chairs when they were cleaning the porch and they didn’t even offer to come back and wash the chairs off. There was some time before they got back to me to setup the service. They sent 2 guys out to do the job. They got the job done in about 4-5 hours.

I found Seal a Deck on Angie's list and called. Since I'm living in NC right now I wasn't sure if we would be able to make it work. I'm was nervous about paying someone to paint without me being "right there" to check up on them. I changed my mind when Ray agreed to meet with me and my husband the weekend we were there...on a Sunday. He walked through, looked at it all and gave us a great price. He never pushed a service on us, since all I wanted was the walls taken care of (the people previous were shelf-a-holics!). I let him know when we needed it by and his response was "no problem"...and it wasn't! Ray is great with communication. Every night he called to update me on what they had completed and what was still to be done. On the second day he called and asked if we wanted our ceilings done because he felt they needed it. My husband made the decision to have them do it. What a good call that was! It took them 4 days to do 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a hallway (walls, doors and ceilings). Very fast, great work! I could have never covered all of those holes and painted it all in that amount of time. The house is now move in ready thanks to Ray and his crew! Side note: Find out what type of paint (type, not brand) he suggests for your walls if you are going to buy the paint for him to use. I neglected to do this and got what I have used in the past: Semi-gloss. It looks good, but if I had bought flat or eggshell the fixes wouldn't be as noticeable. This isn't Ray's fault....it was mine. Being the professional, he will know better what your house needs.

My concern at this time is that apparently he went to my back and cashed my check and they charged him $8.00 per check. I have contacted my back about this, since he wants me to reimburse him for the charges for two checks.

Mr. Pearson and his team of two others arrived mid morning and began pressure washing the house. Before doing so they were conscientious and careful with my porch furniture and plants by removing them and replacing them after providing service. For a minimal extra fee we discussed cleaning the front gutters. The service was performed in a timely manner and they completed the job in approximately 2+ hours for my 1400 sq. ft. home. During the cleaning Ray Pearson noted there was a potential wasp problem for which I was thankful. The house, porch and garage door look fantastic, just as I had hoped.

The service turned out great. He did a great job. He accommodated my time table. I scheduled him last month, but I could not do everything that I needed to do to cut down all the greenery and stuff around the house. So, he waited until it was good for me. He came and did a super job. He actually got in contact with me a couple of times during that time just to make sure I was still on schedule or what was the time for me. He was nice to talk to. He is very dependable. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. My house really needed it bad. It should have been done at least three years ago. He took the extra time to scrub it. The price was pretty reasonable for the job at hand. I think I got a good deal.

Guy was nice just couldn't agree on price.

Initially, we agreed on the price to wash the house/shutters, gutters and porch/railing/front stairs; however, since the gutters were not as bad as originally believed they also included washing the deck/railing/stairs in the price. After payment and the windows dried, I called the provider because all of the windows were splattered with the cleaning fluid. They returned and washed the windows.

Excellent. Had his done for my daughter on her birthday and she couldn't be happier. She called and said the job was done exceptionally well. Went over and above her expectations. Even sang happy birthday to her. I'm very pleased that she was very pleased. Thanks Derek

The only issue I had was with scheduling. It took a while to hear back from them to set up the appointment, I eventually sent an email saying if I didn’t hear back I would have to cancel. They responded quickly after this email. The work was done really well. He was very nice, personable and cordial.

Instead of just painting over leak in bedroom he put putty in, caulked, painted a lot more than asked around crown molding plus primed and painted a large area around the leak. Very pleasant, very helpful with ideas to make me happy, and asked me to check for anything I didn't like and fixed it. Very happy with the whole experience. Would recommend him highly.

I hired Ray to paint a spare bedroom, bathroom, and laundry room. After initially meeting we were happy with the estimate as well as Ray so scheduled a date and time for him to come out. The week the work was scheduled, Ray emailed me to confirm we were still one. It ended up snowing quite a bit so we rescheduled from Wednesday to Monday. Ray called Monday morning to let me know exactly when he would be there. Heshowed up on time and started working right away. He and his crew were done within only a couple of hours and had time to add a could things. Everyone was extrememly polite and professional. Ray even gave me some tips on other things I can do to get my house ready to sell. The paint looks fantastic! Definitely a job well done. We are already thinking of other things we need done that Ray could help us with. Highly recommend

It went well. he assessed the job on an agreed upon date; explained the process and set an agreed upon work date. He arrived promptly and worked steadily. Upon completion, we surveyed the results which were great. He had even done a few extra areas not originally planned, at no extra cost.. He had a winning personality and I will use him again. .

He used a hazardous, highly concentrated hypochlorite solution and did not rinse the house. He and his men were over exposed to the chemical. It was a dangerous situation. Drips from the house burned my wife's back and ruined her shirt. We will NOT use him again. We later discovered his chemicals bleached our upstairs carpet....yes carpet by blowing underneath a door.

Good communication before and after. Excellent results. Pleased with the service and the outcome.

I hired Seal-a-Deck as part of a $199 Angie's List Big Deal for exterior pressure washing of my house. The deal clearly stated upfront that larger houses may require a price adjustment. Following the initial estimate, an additional $50 was quoted which I accepted. The total price paid was $249.00. The quality of the pressure washing of the house was excellent. All mold, mildew, and dirt was removed from the siding of the house. There was an unexpected issue with the overspray of the pressure washing chemicals which bleached certain areas of my deck. I made Seal-a-Deck aware of my unhappiness with the appearance of the deck, especially since I had it pressure washed and sealed one month before. Seal-a-Deck responded by returning and re-pressure washing and re-sealing the deck to my satisfaction at no cost to me. Seal-a-Deck was one of the more responsive companies that I have worked with on Angie's List. They kept me updated constantly with the message feature on the account, as well as, phone calls. I rated them a "B" for Punctuality linked to the overall amount of time it took for the entire job to be completed once it began. Seal-a-Deck is an extremely professional company that went a long way to make sure that I was 100% satisfied with the work performed. With Seal-a-Deck, the customer really is "always right." I would use Seal-a-Deck again.

Had ice cooler for tool box and scissors for wire cutters. Advertised 2 hours of handyman service for $90.00 which I paid to Angies List. It took him four and a half hours to install the fan. It wobbles on high. That is the way he left it. He said he was being careful so it would be installed correctly. He said that was the reason he took so long to install it. I had to show him how to attach the remote power module that was installed in the fan base. After finishing he requested an additional $40.00 for the installation which I paid him. I don't recommend him to anyone. I wasn't going to review him at all but after having several different companies or individuals do work for me that are listed on Angie's List told me I should give a review after I told them what happened with this ceiling fan installation.

We were impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the provider. When he arrived, he focused on the task at hand, and completed it in a timely manner, and with great results.

I wasn't happy with the deal. Price was $199.00 and value was supposed to be $400.00. I have a 2100 sg ft two story house so I understand I can't get the deal for $199.00. Service provider called me after seeing the house that he would need $250.00 more to do the job. He claimed I had a three story house since I have a deck on the back yard and that the house was big as a mansion... He even started arguing with me when I said that $650.00 sounds like a lot of money for the job and said that I'm only paying $450.00. I had another contractor visiting the house and he said he would do the pressure washing for $350.00. I didn't even tell this guy what the other offer was. So where's the Big Deal?

The deal was $249 for 7 hours of handyman work. The handy man came on time and very neatly dressed at the first meeting. I needed a outdoor light fixture changed, minor plumbing on a bathroom sink, a doorbell changed, a dining room mirror hung and to close a window that was stuck open. He was not capable of doing the chores I needed done, so we settled on him working on the landscaping and changing a lock and closing the window. Every job needed a long explanation until I finally said said to just do what he could. He kept saying he would need more money and he would get others to work with him which would bring it to 2 or 3 men for 3 1/2 hours or 1 3/4 hours. I told him to do whatever he could in the time specified. He kept insisting he needed more money. I have property in the back of my house. He wanted to know if I rented it out. He kept saying this is a big house and wanted to go inside. He was to call me on a certain day to arrange a time when he and the other person(s) could come out to start work. He never called. I called him the next day and he said he still had not gotten anyone to help. His whole mannerism was short and rude. When I asked if he could cut the hedges he said he could not be responsible for how they turned out. Finally, I just told him I would get someone else. He began to argue with me. I said, "sir, there is nothing else to talk about." He said, "well, I am going to say it anyway!" I hung up and received a refund from Angie's list. My family discussed his behavior then got someone else not from Angie's list to do the work.

I originally purchased 3 days work for 1 handyman using the big deal. After Raymond came around to a**** the work it was agreed that the total work was a lot larger than expected. We negotiated a price for all the work, and set a date a month latter. This was at my request so I could save up the money required for the work. He organised and supervised the guttering team who came out to take down the guttering and replace all the facia boards. He came back afterwards with another team and they set to painting all the exterior wood work. I am very happy with the job
