Replaced the motherboard, seems GE Profile is known for its failing motherboards. Technician was knowledgeable and knew what the problem was based on the description of the issue, so had a motherboard with him when he arrived. He swapped out the motherboard and we've had no issues since. We were pleased with this business and would use again.

Joe arrived on time as planned and was able to determine the problem within a few minutes. After removing the back panel from the stove, he indicated that we needed a new terminal block which was damaged, and that he could get one by the next day. Stated he would be back tomorrow in the late afternoon. Next day, Joe was back as planned and was able to fix the stove. Paid $141.00 of which $65.00 was the service call charge. On time, very professional and friendly. I will use these guys again..

I bought a condo and my kitchen did not work. Well, the oven worked and the microwave, but nothing else. So, I consulted Angie's List and contacted Appliance Professional. They arrived on time and immediately got to work, checking and servicing my large kitchen appliances. By the time they were finished, my kitchen was working and has been working perfectly ever since.

There were problems getting parts from Sharp so it took a long time, but Joe, the repairman, was diligent and he got the job done. We were frustrated that it took so long, but that is because Sharp parts are apparently not kept in stock locally. I have had good experiences with this company.

. Nate installed the part and got it working in under 20 minutes, after being without an oven for weeks while we tried to get a new oven that would fit. We loved Nate and his knowledgeable work and would use them for again if the need arises. The cost of 249.00 approximately was far less than replacing the oven at over 1,000.00 and given that the new ovens are wider than our cutout for the wall oven, we probably would have had to remodel at least part of the kitchen to accommodate the changes in these ovens. Nate and Appliance Professionals LLC saved us a lot of money!
Description of Work: The repair rep that came out whose name is Nate, diagnosed the problem with my wall oven about a week before when he came out for the initial visit. I told him that as I was heating up the broiler, it flashed and burned out the coils, causing the electrical circuit to break. He found the problem right away and ordered the part. Today (one week later), he returned with the new part for the broiler, installed it and got it working well. We loved his work and his personality as he was very nice, friendly and very professional. I didn't realize until after he left though that the oven light was not working. However, it just turned out to be the bulb that burned out probably when the oven blew the circuit. I replaced the bulb and it works great. All in all, I thought that Nate represented his company well and I would recommend this company to anyone. Also the price was not much compared to what it would have cost us for a new oven.

Appliance Professional was the third company we contacted. The water dispenser wasn't working in our fridge (no more ice being made either), and it wasn't the common fixes you find when you google the issue. Sloan Appliance wanted $150 just for the visit, no thank you. I'd used them before (years ago) and can promise I didn't pay that just for a the visit. Then we contacted Appliance Doctor who wanted $50 or $60 for the visit. We scheduled them the next day for 8am to noon, and of course rearranged our schedule around them being here. At 11:45 my wife called to see where they were... they said they'd contact the tech and let us know. Then at 12:45 my wife called again. They said they hadn't been able to get in touch with the tech and they'd call us back. Sometime after 1 they called to say they were on the way... we said no thanks, we'll actually find someone who can come on-time or return calls. Finally we looked on Angie's List to find Appliance Professional, who had a good rating. They quoted $65 for the visit. We told the tech at the door we had two young children asleep upstairs. He was very courteous, professional, and thankfully quiet as he went in and out to his truck. He diagnosed the problem quickly. Unfortunately he didn't have the parts I needed, and offered to come back once they came in. I asked him to show me which parts needed replacing and I'd do it myself. A trip downtown for two parts and by that night it was working again. Their diagnoses and my buying the parts cost less than Sloan's quote just to visit, and they came on time.

On the original visit, 2 "technitions" came, and spent most of the time clowning around in my kitchen and asked me if I liked comedians, and I said no, hoping they would get the message. However, they continued taking up my time with their antics. In the end, this proved to be the big problem because they missed the fact that the was a loose connection. They told me that day that I needed a new control panel, and told me to pay them up front $325, because things would go quicker. Not really. I heard nothing back for 2 weeks, and when I called the office they told me that the wrong part had come in, and I would have to wait longer. About a week later, one of the clowns came back to install the part. That night, the whole stove went dead. I can't describe my anger and disappointment now that Christmas was on top of me. I called for yet another service call and that is when the technition saw that he had missed the fact that there was a loose connection and he fixed that finally. Who knows if I really did need the new control panel? I am so finished with this company. What a stressful experience for the holidays. Don't try this at home!
Description of Work: They made 3 service calls over a period of about 3 weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas to diagnose and repair my relatively new GE cook top and oven. During this peak of the holiday preparation time I was without the use of my stove. I was beside myself because I had holiday baking to do, and people to entertain. It was horrible.

It went well, as have all our service experiences with Appliance Professionals. The icemaker on our refrigerator had never really worked satisfactorily, and the service techs at Appliance Professionals replaced the non-functioning and/or leaking parts so that we now we have all the ice that the system is capable of making - and no leaks! We are pleased with the whole service experience and will happily recommend Appliance Professionals to anyone needing competent and courteous service.

It took a while to get all the necessary parts, but in the end, they did a good job. The did the work at a property we own and were also supposed to bring a replacement filter. When they arrived to do the work they didn't have the filter so they had to make another trip for it. At one point I made a suggestion for the work which they didn't do, but I can't fault them for it as we didn't speak about it in depth. Overall, they proved competent and I was pleased.

I thought it was going well at first, but after having to call them back again, and again, and costing us more money, it became so stressful and aggravating. And to be told that there was nothing more they could do, and left us with an non-working NEW ice maker, new water line, and whatever else it was, we were and are very disappointed. My husband kept asking me if I wrote a review, and told him no...well he asked me to write one in his words since he doesn't type on the computer. He said he will not use Appliance Professional again, nor would he recommend them to anyone. ******** VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE JULY 11, 2013******* I am very pleased to be making an update on this past experience. Today, July 11, 2013, Nathan Woods, the owner, contacted me personally and apologized for what I went through and let me know it was NOT acceptable in his business. We talked about what went wrong, etc.,, and Nathan was so professional and so caring. I feel horrible about writing the first review due to the ways things went badly. Mr. Woods, is taking care of this matter and has promised me (in which I completely believe) that HE will take over this now and will do all he can to fix my ice maker problem. I feel so much better and have all the faith in Nathan. He is such a nice gentleman, and I know for a fact now, after speaking with him, he takes his business to heart as well as taking customers to heart. Thank you Nathan for calling and speaking with me. I feel so much better now and can't wait to let my husband know that you will be handling the matter!!! I am so sorry that I had to write a negative review at first, but you have now earned an "A+" in my book!! You have a customer for good now!! :-) Have a blessed day!! *******ANOTHER IMPORTANT AND DISAPPOINTING UPDATE******* I am very upset that the promise that was made from the owner, Nathan Woods on July 11, 2013, never was followed through. After that one phone call he made to me, I never heard from him again. This was very disappointing to my husband and myself. How can the owner make an apology for the lousy service we received, make a promise to come out personally and handle the situation and make sure he did all he could do to rectify the situation? What a huge disappointment!!! We are definitely finished with using this company. We are looking for another large appliance repair company. All these months and all the money that we spent on believing that the problem would be resolved, and having to buy bagged ice, has been so annoying. We could have used all that extra money spent on replacing parts that may or may not have been totally necessary, to buy a brand new refrigerator with an ice maker. I have lost faith and belief in Appliance Professional LLC. Will not call them ever again, and it won't do any good for Mr. Woods to call me back. I hate being promised one thing and it never came to pass. I think that when the tech forced the new ice maker which had a longer cord into my ice maker, was the first red flag. He spent a long time bending and forcing the "too long of a cord" which made the ice maker not fit properly at all. But he was determined to MAKE i fit. Now the ice maker does not work properly and where he bent the cord in many places, it leaks terribly where it plugs from the back of the ice maker into the place inside the freezer. (sorry but I do not know the names of these parts where the freezer and ice maker connect. But the most important thing is that the ice maker was NEVER put in right nor was the correct ice maker ordered....if it was, then it would have fit properly and the connection cord would not have been so long that it had to be bent and twisted so many times and MADE to fit it...meaning it was forced into a fit that was NOT proper.
Description of Work: We have a Kenmore side by side refrigerator. From day one in 1994 the ice maker was a nightmare. Sears came out and "fixed" it approximately 12+ times. We eventually called in an outsider company and the guy found the problem almost instantly. We finally, after 5 years of going through constant problems with just the ice maker, to finally find someone to fix it. After about 5 years of it working properly, it went on the blink again. This was in November 2012. I recently became a member of Angie's List and went to Angie's List to find a reputable appliance repair company. I read up on Appliance Professional, and thought to give them a call, explain the problem and see if and when they could come out. The owner was who I spoke to and was very pleased about his friendliness and professionalism. He sent out 2 guys, and they checked it and decided it was a certain problem. They said a certain part had to be ordered. so the part was ordered and another service appointment was made. The guy who came back out, placed the part on, and then said that the problem that was still existing was what he thought the problem was in the first place. So, with one part put on, another part had to be ordered, and yet another service appt had to be made. So at the first 2 calls, and the first parts ordered and put in, had the cost of the service over $500.00. I had to call AGAIN because the NEW ice maker was still leaking and making a huge mess in the freezer, ice freezing up where the water line was dripping inside the freezer instead of all going into the ice maker. I was furious by this time. So another call to have them come out and fix that problem. The guy came out and with the new ice maker that he had placed in the call before, in my eyes(and I am not a woman who knows about ice makers) but could see the new ice maker was not fitting properly and questioned it. I was told that this was the new model for the side by side we had. He worked for a very long time and was getting agitated because he couldn't get the long line that plugged into the unit that brought in the water into the ice maker. After several tries trying to get the line to bend to "make" it fit, was aggravating me seeing how in a scenario of trying to place a square into a round hole, so to speak, was not going to work. But he "made" it work! Which actually it worked for only a few hours, and then it was leaking water again, into the freezer, which is frost free, yet it looked like an icicle wonderland. Boy was my husband angry when he saw that and the way the line was bent to obviously "make" the wrong ice maker fit!!! He called them this time and yet another time for them to come out a few days after Christmas. This mess made our family Christmas so embarrassing, since we couldn't use the ice maker and had to go buy a bad of ice. My husband was so mad that he asked for the $ 521.69 spent so far, to be refunded to us, only to be told that this was considered a "cash" transaction and we could not be refunded the money back. So we have this nice side by side which will last another 10 years, but was told by Nate on the last call, not only could we not be refunded any portion of our money, and the original problem was not fixed and now we had another problem with the ice in the door, not making and dispensing cubed ice when the "cubed" ice button was on, and was making crushed ice; we were told that that was not THEIR problem but OURS and they would not even attempt to try and fix it!! We were totally shocked at getting that response!! He actually said he would not attempt to fix it, because it was now a problem inside the door of the freezer section that maintains the mechanism of the cubed ice, crushed ice, or water!! I was so stressed during the 2 months of dealing with this, that my husband cut off the water to the line and turned off the ice maker, and now we are having to purchase bags of ice until we can find a company/person that WILL fix the problem. Not sure we want to fork out any more money on the same problem!!

In fairness to Appliance Professional LLC, they did have to make (3) trips to complete the repair but that was only after the new part that was ordered proved to be faulty and another one had to ordered. The shock was in the cost of the new LED Light Panel which as at $100.00. The repairs were finally completed on 11/27/2012.
Description of Work: The service and the knowledge of the personnel were as promised and with their timely arrival of the scheduled appointments. I thought the charge for the service call and the tech service was a little high just to replace the LED Light Panel.

All went better than expected. I would use them again.
Description of Work: Within first week after my call, a professional came to my home and assessed clothes washer that didn't work unless I slammed down lid, clothes dryer that "ate" some of my clothes. The clothes got stuck in rotating cylinder. To remove I pulled and clothes tore. My refrigerator needed front handle repair and ice maker fixed. My dish washer would not start. My toilet wouldn't flush unless I lifted lid and pulled lever inside tank manually. Also, a kitchen cabinet door needed hinge repaired. All issues were assessed, cost estimate made, then parts were ordered for repairs to begin. About a week later parts were in and repairs completed. Repairs were made quickly, efficiently, and skillfully. Professional staff were clean, mannerly, and took pride in their work.

The first time was OK despite a few hiccups.....I placed the call and told the lady exactly what was wrong and the parts that should be ordered so they could come out once and I would not have to be out of work twice. She was kind, I called her back the next day with the serial # and she said she would call when the parts came in the schedule service. That happened a week or so later, when Nate called an hour before the scheduled appointment he stated he was coming to inspect the dishwasher to see what was wrong, I quickly explained that I knew the diagnosis and he should have the parts to fix it and that is what he was coming for, he said he would call me back, he did and said there was a mix up and the parts were not on his truck however the lady from the office would meet him and bring them to him. I was off work that day doing other errands so the reschedule later in the day was no big deal. Nate arrived, was very pleasant and fixed the problem. Even though I thought the price was a bit high I decided to give them a call back when a week or so later our washing machine "died". Nate came out again and diagnosed the problem as the small pulley attached to the motor in the washer this would be over $350 because it had also broken the belt. I called Maytag it was under warranty so they would ship me a new motor free of charge. I paid Nate the trip fee of $110 plus $23.80 for a belt (a marked up price by the way, the belt is $20)and we left it at when the piece came in he would come back and install it. When the part arrived Nate came and put it on, the washer worked for the first load, he tested it before he left, I went back to work and later that night I came home to run a second load and the washer died again. I had Nate's cell and called (this was around 7-8pm) he was very nice and came right over on his own time without scheduling an appointment. He fixed the problem of a bent piece of a plastic cover and the washer was working again...or so I thought. It quit once again later that night (keep in mind this is a washer that is only about 1.5 years old) and I called Nate the next day to see when they could come back out, he said the office lady would call to schedule a time to come out. She didn't so I called back left a message, no return call so the next day I called again and got the appointment scheduled. When he arrived he said the other pulley was also broken and that would need to be replaced, it was on the truck and it was replaced. The washer now works fine. The issue I had is that we were charged another $65 trip fee for a problem that should have been diagnosed from the very beginning and wasn't..both pulleys were broken and needed to be replaced. That is not our fault. Nate was always extremely nice and professional about everything but he did always have to refer back or call his boss on prices or mark ups on parts. I would not use Appliance Professional again due to the cost, it seemed as if we were being nickeled and dimed over everything including the second trip fee to resolve a problem that was never fixed from the first service call/trip fee.

Excellent. Probably the best service call I've had.
Description of Work: This was a Whirlpool dishwasher repair. Whirlpool had suggested a different service, which we had used for another appliance some years ago that hadn't turned out very well. So, came to Angie's list to see if we could do better. Found the Appliance Professionals and liked the reviews. Called them, provided them the model information etc. and they were on the job the next day. Very punctual. When they say they will be there, they will be there. In our case they were early, which was a nice change from what has happened with other services. The fellow they sent knew the washer, diagnosed the problem, had everything on hand to deal with the problem and effected an excellent repair. And, then took the time to provided some tips to forestall future issues and to ensure the best possible operation of the equipment. The cost was exactly what they had told us it would be at the beginning . Would I use them again? Their number is on the fridge.

10/22/12 sent email via Angies list for quote, provided specifics of needed part & received $139 quote ($27 parts, $45 service fee, $65 labor, & $2 tax). 10/24/12 called to schedule the work, confirmed part needed, & was told technician would call the morning of 10/29/12 to provide arrival time. 10/29/12 at 8:06am received call would arrive between 1 - 5pm. 10/29/12 11:46am received call, technician asked "if I had the part?" which, of course, I did NOT. I told him that I had specified the part needed & received confirmation that his company had the part. He said the part was not ordered & it would take several days to get it. He offerred to reduce the labor charge by 10% because of their failure to order the part. I declined and canceled the service as I had talked to other service providers that would waive the service charge if repair work was done which cost me $45 less and I didn't have to wait for the part to be ordered.

Being left without use of the washer was not great. Service call was on a Friday, could not be completed that day, and a new service visit was not offered by the office until the coming Tuesday. The second visit was handled efficiently and quickly
Description of Work: Serviceman diagnosed the cause fairly promptly and called to get confirmation of his diagnosis. The store that carried the replacement part was noted to be "clear across town" and replacement could not be done that day. Washer was left in unusable condition.

I first must explain that I am not normally the type of person to complain, and have to be seriously jilted to post the type of scathing review that is to follow. The incompetence and unprofessionalism of this organization is jaw dropping. HORRIBLE! This whole thing started when my wife called regarding an obnoxious noise made by our aging refrigerator. Seeing the great reviews on Angie's List, she called and made an appointment for a wednesday afternoon. I was the one who had to meet them at our house, so she gave them my number. The technician (we'll call him Joe) called me the morning of the scheduled service. He gave me a 5 hour window (between 1pm-6pm) of when he could be there, offering a 30 minute "courtesy" call before he comes. I politely asked if we could reschedule on a day when I could plan a more definite time, limiting my time of house arrest. He politely informed me that their business doesn't operate like that, that they fit us in whenever is most convenient for them. So I took a day off work. Joe showed up within the last hour of the 5 hour window. He did give me a "courtesy" call, telling me he would be there in 10 minutes. So I show up and show Joe my Refrigerator. He asks what the problem is, and I explain the noise in detail to him. He was courteous enough, put a piece of plastic down to drag the fridge over, so as not to scratch our hardwood floors. After he takes the back of the Refrigerator apart, he promises that the noise is being made by the fan motor, who's bearings have gone bad. He promised that if the fan motor is replaced, the noise will disappear. He charged me $65 for a service call, and told me that that fee would be deducted from any repairs that they render. On the invoice under the "Nature of Service Requested" line, Joe wrote, "Refrigerator makes noise when fan comes on". We scheduled a day for him to come back on that following Monday to replace the fan motor, which he promised me would eliminate the problem. After ordering the part, Joe called to quote me a price of $45 parts/ $45 labor. I asked him if the $65 aleready paid would be subtracted from that, he said yes. Once again, Appliance "UN"Professional wouldn't let me schedule a time for a call, and put me on another 5 hour window of house arrest that Monday (between 12-5). I had to take another half day off of work. Finally, a different technician (We'll call him Nate) shows up @ 4:30. After I explained the problem, he went to work on my fridge. I wasn't watching close enough, but unlike Joe, Nate did NOT slide my Fridge over a plastic platform. This action caused two deep grooves in my newly finished hardwood floors, which I didn't discover until after he left! Once Nate had finished the fan install, he gave me a bill for $113. When I questioned him about the bill, he tried to talk in circles, not explaining the charges. When I asked for a breakdown of expenses, he got defensive and claimed that "he was just the installer and didn't understand the billing." I therefore asked Nate to call down to the office and find out what the charges were. It happens that although they had deducted $65 for my original service call, they had also tried to tack on an additional $65 and not write it on the invoice. I warn anyone foolish enough to do business with these people to examine their invoice closely. My guess is that vague invoicing is standard practice for them. It ends up I was only supposed to pay an additional $48.50. While all of this was going on, I noticed that the fan motor was making the same noise it had always made. When I pointed that out to Nate he said that the noise was coming from the compressor and not the motor. By then I was extremely unhappy, and wanted him to call Joe for an explanation. When Nate called Joe and ask him, Joe said "I didn't notice a noise." Never mind that that WAS our original complaint and WAS referenced on the original invoice. Nate explained to him that the noise he promised would be fixed by replacing the fan motor was actually being caused by the compressor. Joe's excuse was that the fan motor "needed to be replaced anyway", despite the fact it was functioning perfectly fine. He then suggested to Nate that he try and sell me a $400 compressor. Athough very displeased, I paid Nate for the fan motor I didn't need, if merely for the fact that I didn't want to wait for him to put the old one back, and franlky, didn't trust him to competently do the job. These people have no idea how to run a business and have assembled a team of untrained monkeys.
Description of Work: I called complaining about a loud noise made by the fan in our Refrigerator, every time the cooling cycle begins. Technician came to look at it, told us that bad bearings in the fan motor was causing the noise, and motor needed to be replaced. Second guy came to replace motor, problem still exists.

Response from Appliance Professional
At Appliance Professional our #1 goal is complete Customer Satisfaction; we take pride in our staff and our installers and always try to accomodate our customers. We offer a 30 min. courtesy call so that the customer is not limited to staying at home as most of our customers are working. Our technicians are polite and well mannered and WOULD NEVER tell a customer that they would be fitted in when it is most convenient for our office. Our customers always come first and they are certainly treated with dignity and respect. We are sorry for your view of our service Ms. W, and would like to take a moment to share the details of your transaction: Ms. W called in two work orders. The first was on a very old refrigerator and the second was a dishwasher that was not draining. Because there were two appliances, as a courtsey, only one service charge was incrued. In reference to the work orders. The work orders are filled out by our office staff. The nature of the service request is documented exactly as the customer tells us. When a customer calls into the office they are quoted our service charge and flat labor charge which equals $110. This customer was not overcharged and was informed of all fees in advance. Our technician after a thorough investigation of the refrigerator, could not duplicate the problem. Based on the technician's experience and the nature of refrigerators, the most likely problem or cause would be a fan motor. For this reason, the fan motor was ordered and installed. After the installation of the fan motor, , the compressor started making a noise. The technician informed the customer, Mr. W that the only solution to that problem would be to replace the compressor. The customer was extremely agitated, rude and disrespectful to our employee. Our technician offered to remove the new fan motor but the customer declined. Our technicians are certified and attend yearly training seminars for updates on appliances. Appliance Professional, LLC prides ourself on our professional reputation and as you can read in all of our reviews on Angie's List, our ratings are always high. Should you have any concerns or questions regarding this complaint you may reach Nathan Woods, Service Manager/Owner at cell #: 803-467-0195.
