Very well!
Description of Work: Very understanding about safety concerns I had for my cavalier King Charles spaniels finding nails, etc to chew and swallow on the ground after job was complete. Butch was my sales rep who explained process and was available and responded in a timely manner about questions and adding a new Velux skylight to the job. Donald my super sup on the job with fast courteous crew did an outstanding job in low country heat! Clean up was immaculate and they communicated with me during the entire process. I encouraged them to open an office in Beaufort, we need professional contractors. I am sure they would get immediate ROI ! Thanks ya'll!

Description of Work: I called them because my roof is leaking into my bedroom and garage. The woman I spoke with was very arrogant and seemed to expect i should beg or cry for her to take my case, she simply insisted on putting me into their database and hung up the phone on me. I called back and she finally told me it was a minimum of 5 weeks to an appointment; I let her know she could've simply said that in the first place.

Response from Tri-County Roofing Inc
Thank you for your review. I'm sorry that our response time was off from our regular schedule. This repair was done after the historic flood in October. We really were doing the best we could at the time. The flood took us by surprise, it was like we had a hurricane. We hadn't had that many roof repairs to do since 1999 with Hurricane Floyd. I hope the repair is holding up well.

They were very efficient. They came when they said they were going to come and they were done very quickly. They were right on time on the estimate that they gave us. They had a really big crew and they worked together all the time and that was very nice. The owner came out to our house every morning and oversaw everything and that they were no problems.

Mark came out and gave us a quote with options. I was very tight on time with international travel planned. He got his crew together within a couple days and completed the work on the date committed. Excellent work.Nearly a year later and many rains later - no issues at all! Would use them again, no question.
Description of Work: We had a construction defect on our house that was trapping rain water in a corner of the garage. Some wood work and sheetmetal work had to be done before putting new shingles.

The process was quick, painless, and very pleasant and we love our new roof!
Description of Work: Shannon from Tri-County came to our door one day and asked if we wanted a free roof inspection. We said sure, comsidering our roof was quite old, and we had just gone through a hail storm recently. He told us that Tri-County is accredited with many state and local agencies concerning roofing. He then offered to give us an estimate if we would have our appraiser from our insurance company meet him there. He showed up early and stayed late, even though the appraiser did'nt show for hours. Anyhow, he met our insurance price an all we paid was our deductilble. They also re-roofed my husbands garage at no extra charge. They just finished our roof less than a week ago and we are extremely pleased with the quality of the workmanship, and my husband is not the easiest man to make happy. Shannon came by after all was done, and checked the roof and asked if we would want anything changed or added. All in all, they did the job quickly and efficiently and did not leave behind any mess. The whole process took only two days to re-roof both The the garage and house.

We contracted with thie company in March to install siding in early to mid-May, giving them 7 weeks lead time to schedule the work. The work was never started, nor could we get a start time from the salesman who took our $8,000 deposit. Although we tried repeatedly to talk with someone other than this salesman, we were not allowed to speak with anyone else to try and resolve the issue. We gave them extended time to complete the job, but they would not commit to a start date. We gave them a deadline in writing to establish a start time or to refund our depost, since we couldn't actually speak with anyone;. their contention was that we cancelled our contract with them. After being contacted by the Better Business Bureau, they sent an unsigned check for a partial refund -- dated the day BEFORE the deadline we gave them to resolve the issue! Of course, we cannot cash an unsigned check, and will now have to pursue our deposit through the legal system. We have beenr revnovating houses for 30 years, and I've never dealt with a contractor more full of lies and obfuscation than this one! The quality of their work may be good, but if honesty and integrity are important to you, stay away from this company.

Response from Tri-County Roofing Inc
Sometimes people submit reviews out of anger and are full of half truths. This complaint was due to an incident where the owners lived in another state and where trying to fix up a rental property the week before rental season began. The job was indeed do-able and why it was accepted, as this couple was told at the time of the estimate that scheduling 7 weeks out there was a potential for delay due to the weather that would affect previous jobs and may affect this one, and we did ask if we could start earlier but the answer was no because they wanted to be in town. The warning that was given was ignored and the worst happened, the week before the scheduled job we had real bad weather, hail and severe wind. Their was plenty of communication but it was telling the owners they would indeed be pushed back a couple days because unfinished jobs had to be finished before we could move on. The home-owner insisted they wanted to cancel because their house was more important. Although i agree that every house is important it is understood that the most important job is one that must be finished, it would be unfair to quit one to start another. Tri County did everything in our power to resolve this issue on day one. After being canceled on the first day with no comprehension we were putting in a huge effort to have the work done still we then agreed and terminated the contract, the problem was that the material was special order and was already paid for. Our Contract states that if one cancels they can keep the material but we are still owed the money because we bought it. Special order items can not be returned. But the owners are right, we did send them a check. We actually sent it to them when they canceled and apologized it was unsigned and actually sent another immediately. The problem lies that after they canceled they then called back and wanted the work done the very next day and to end by the end of the week. The problem is that other jobs where rescheduled and we were not willing to play games. We sent the homeowners their money back as a professional business would, actually ate the cost of the material and went on to service our other customers. We ask for all Angie's List members to look at ALL our reviews and make the decision for themselves. We are a very respected and professional business in the Charleston area and these silly attempts of slander are misleading. It is unnecessary and uncalled for but thankfully for honest customers, there is a way to overcome such deceitfulness. One can look at the Better Business Bureau and see that this complaint has been resolved because it was proved that we made every attempt to make peace and went over and beyond to solve the situation.

Well looks like I got the two paragraphs backwards, so see the first for "How did it go?" Scope of works Total roof replacement with 4 gable ends braced. Tri County uses a self sealing membrane which is a step up from roofing felt. They also use a 6" heavy duty drip edge, and Timberline Prestique High Definition Shingles. There was a piece of rotten fascia board that they replaced. I suggested Mark go to Guy C. Lee for the wood. He went all the way to Lowe's because my house is sided with cedar, and he wanted to use the same material. I frankly would have never known the difference, since the fascia will be painted and gutters refastened to it. That attention to detail speaks volumes to me.
Description of Work: I received a grant from South Carolina Safe Home, along with a list of contractors certified by them. One wanted 20% of the grant in his pocket, one came out and measured but never sent me an estimate, one only did gable end bracing, not roofing. Mark Poyner came from Ladson the next day, measured up and gave me a detailed quote in writing within half an hour. We agreed to a start date, May 9th. The crew is hard working, tidy, and respectful. They are putting in some long days, up to 14 hours, and they come to and from Ladson. The job is not quite finished, but I am confident enough to write this recommendation now. They also offer one year financing interest free. They have been in business for over 40 years, and that means a lot to me, I know if I have a problem down the road they will be there. They also include a 25 year warranty on materials and labor. Of course it is prorated, but that's fine. After the other contractors I spoke with, Mark is a breath of fresh air.

Their customer service was excellent. They were very responsive. They removed the old roof, new underlayment. I actually specified a different kind of roof vent. They had to do a number of repairs, plywood replacement, and had to fix a broken beam. They had to waterproof an entire section of the roof. They used a kind of automatic sealant. They were very quick. I think it was almost less than two days including repair. They tried themselves on cleaning up the yard, it was fine but it wasn’t what I understood would happen. We worked it out though. They were more than happy to come to fix whatever complaints I had. The price was good. I did a lot of comparison shopping. It hasn’t been long enough for me to say about the quality of their work. It has been good so far. I would use them again.

I called Tri-County Roofing to get an estimate on an entire roof replacement for the home we lived at that time. A few hours after my phone call, an employee for the company came to our house and gave us an estimate. The estimate was good, so I called the employee and told him we wanted to hire them for the job. He set up a date and time that his crew would be there to reroof our house. Only on that date and time his crew did not show up. We waited all day for them and still nothing. I kept calling the employee's cell phone and could not reach him. The next day I called the company and talked to the top guy there. He said he had no record of the job to be done and knew nothing about a job that was to be performed at our house on that day. He then called the employee that had given us an estimate and had set up his crew for the job. He then called me back and told me the employee made some excuse about not wanting to do the job. I don't know what his excuse was. The top guy asked if I was still interested in another crew of his doing the job. I said no and thanked him kindly. A few days later I called the company and said that I was indeed still interested in another crew coming out to reroof our home. I never heard from them again! I have no idea what went wrong. I was always nice on the phone, even when they were a no show. My husband was very nice to the employee that did the estimate. I guess we'll never know the reason.

From start to finish both the salesperson-estimator and the workers were very professional in getting the job done. There was a problem with the delivery of the shingles by the supplier and my estimator immediately stepped in to resolve the issue. I did not have to get involved in any way and the problem was solved immediately. The entire job was completeed in two days and the cleanup was verey good. The workers were conscientious and hardworking and never interfered with my daily routine. The materials used were of a high standard and my impression was that my complete satisfaction was very important. I would certainly recommend this company to anyone in need of a new roof.
Description of Work: The company sent seven skilled employees to do the job and they replaced 3800 sq. ft. in just two days. The sales person was professional and spent extra time with me before signing the contract explaining exactly how the job would be done.

This company was hired in February 2008 to stop a leak near the chimney (brown water stains were appearing along the ceiling close to the fireplace). At the time, they said the work was not guaranteed. In September, I noticed the drop vinyl ceiling in the screen porch adjacent to the chimney where the leak was fixed in February; it was full of water. I contacted Tri-County Roofing and they sent a couple of young workers to take a look at it. They determined the problem was a vent on the screen porch roof. They called in to report the diagnosis to their supervisor. The supervisor told me they could repair the problem for $250. I gave them a check and they spent about 15 minutes on the roof and left. The also used a broom to poke the ceiling, trying to drain the water. The ceiling was all scuffed up and dirty when they left. The young men told me our entire roof was bad and needed to be re-roofed. After they left, I noticed there was still water in the screen porch ceiling. I called their supervisor and he checked with them. They denied that any water was left, and said it was "debris." They were supposed to come back out and look at it, but never did. About a week later, Tropical Storm Hannah came through and water was steadily trickling into the house, down the wall and in the chimney. A very large stain began spreading over the ceiling. I contacted a different company, East Coast Roofing, and they quickly identified the problem and it was tied to the original repair work done by Tri-County Roofing in February. East Coast also said our existing roof was good for another couple of years.
Description of Work: Hired to fix a leak that had allowed water to accumulate inside the ceiling of our screened porch.

This company did a good job, everything was handled in a professional manner and the result looks great. I believe they did a quality job at a reasonable price. The gutters and downspouts they had installed were very high quality. They look great! ri-County did not exceed the original estimate, and that estimate was actually the lowest of three that we'd requested. Two were close, but we selected Tri-County Roofing because their estimator actually got up on the roof, looked around, took some time and talked with us about the options. The second closest bidder never got their ladder off the truck.
Description of Work: Tear off old roof and replace with new; GAF 30-year architect shingles; ABS ridgevents, flash chimney, replace 30' of gutters and downspouts, etc.
