Description of Work: My son got his driver's license and the first thing he did when driving my car for the first time on his own was hit and damage my garage. Aaron and his crew repaired the damaged board on the garage doing a beautiful job. I didn't even need to be home to meet them! It is great working with Aaron. I've used him before and I would use them again!

Description of Work: Superior Builders of Charleston responded quickly to my initial call after a the cold water pipe burst behind a the wall where my washing machine is located. There was major damage to walls and sub-flooring, as well as mold growing and wood rot from a previous incident that occurred before we purchased the house. We had a disaster recovery company come out and tear up the flooring in both our laundry room and the bathroom next to it which were saturated from the leak. Superior Builders gave us a very accurate quote to repair and renovate both rooms. They treated the mold, added necessary beam support for a rotted structural beam, and replaced all of the sub-floor and insulation in both rooms. They did the demolition work on a fiberglass stall shower and vanity in the bathroom. Aaron and his crew installed a new tile shower, replaced all of the sheet rock on the walls, installed tile on the floor, scraped the popcorn ceiling in the bathroom and painted all walls and the bathroom ceiling. The rooms both turned out beautifully! Aaron is a great guy to work with. He makes great suggestions, and has quality vendors that he recommends for materials purchase (tile, vanity, granite, glass shower enclosure). His crew works efficiently and are very easy to work with. We had a second problem in our home which was a leak in the shower in our master bathroom upstairs. We had 4 other contractors out to look at the problem who each told us that our tub had a hairline fracture and would need to be replaced along with tile that would have to come out to remove the shower. Basically the other contractors implied that we needed a complete remodel of our master bathroom as well - a cost of approximately $18,000. We had cut out a hole in our kitchen ceiling to be able to see the source of the leak as we had discovered the issue due to discoloration of the kitchen ceiling and eventually the formation of a small hole there. Aaron came in and took a look at the situation and told us he could fix it no problem. Aaron and his crew discovered the leak was a problem with an old manifold behind the knob in the shower, and replaced the manifold for ~$600 resolving the issue! With that savings, Aaron suggested that we scrape the popcorn off the ceiling in the kitchen (the big hole needed to be fixed as well), and replace the ancient fluorescent light fixture with canned lighting. He quoted us a great price for this work, and it upgraded our kitchen, which now looks fantastic! I highly recommend Superior Builders for any general contracting/home remodeling work that needs to be done. I will certainly hire him again when we're ready to upgrade other rooms in our house.

Description of Work: We just had an estimate on hardwood flooring. They showed up on time and were very personal and professional.

Description of Work: I have a deck on my condo that is 6’- 6” x 12’, with walls that were comprised of brick & various grades of primitive stucco plus one large window and one very large glass wall / slider door. The job was to add an overhead electrical fan / light outlet and one additional wall outlet as well as adding stucco to all walls with a special, white, “worm-wood” finish. Although there is some follow-up work still to be done, I expect the job will be completed to my satisfaction. Do expect to be impressed by the owners of this company. Aaron could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Do expect the job to cost what was estimated. Do expect courteous, polite and accommodating attitude from all personnel involved. Do not be anxious about making deadlines. Working with subcontractors can sometimes be stressful. They have their problems that can cause delay. Do expect a mess with stucco work. Lots of dust and inevitable tracking. However, the work site was left clean and all debris was removed. Do expect an overall good experience.

Description of Work: WE had a two story exterior stair built on the side of our two story garage. We also had Aaron and crew place gutters on the front and back of the garage.

Description of Work: HEAVY RAINS AND SOME WORN OUT BOOTS ON ROOF VENTS LED TO A LEAK THAT CAME THROUGH THE CEILING THAT HAD JUST BEEN REMODELED. (2 WEEKS PRIOR). WE HAD THE NEED FOR REPAIR OF A POPCORN CEILING..I WONDER WHO CAME UP WITH THE IDEA OF POPCORN CEILINGS. IT SEEAMS THAT ALL OF THE SOUTHERN HOUSES HAVE THESE. ANYWAY I WAS REFERRED TO CUSTOM DESIGN BY A CARPENTER WHO HAD COMPLETED OUR KITCHEN. LONG STORY SHORT....MY CEILING WAS REPAIRED THE NEX DAY AFTER IT WAS LOOKED AT. THE ORIGINAL DATE FOR REPAIR WAS TO BE AFTER CHRISTMAS. BUT I WAS ASKED IF WE EXPECTED COMPANY FOR CHRISTMAS ,WE SAID YES AND THE OWNER CAME TO REPAIR THE CEILING THE NEXT DAY, THREE DAYS BEFOR CHRISTMAS. THE JOB TURNED OUT GREAT!

Description of Work: The flooring company came out three months ago and installed the hardwood floor in my entire upstairs.

Description of Work: I used Custom Designs for a home renovation. They started work in March and completed it in June. The work involved new tile, carpentry, new hardwood floors, interior painting, plumbing, electrical, and they put in new stairs. They also corrected some work from a previous contractor that I was not pleased with.

Description of Work: We had a sunroom installed and needed the finishing work done on it. They leveled and drywalled the ceiling and walls, did some fantastic trim work and put the floor down for me.

Description of Work: I had a sunroom that needed 2 french doors removed and new sheetrock installed, painted and new baseboard, toe molding installeld. Also the area where the door was removed, new hardiplank was installed &, painted. the walls were rewired for a wall mounted flat screen TV, and new outlets added to other walls and new AC ducts installed. The old tile had to be removed and we thought there might be a problem underneath as the old tile was buckling and uneven. Once the old tile was removed, the subflloring and underlayment had to be removed to level things off. The subfloor, underlayment and new radiant heat mat has now been installed and the tile will start tomorrow.

Description of Work: Constructed a deck and handrail. Applied stucco to front of the house, framed out the bedrooms, constructed foundation, put down tile in bathrooms and kitchens.

Description of Work: I can't fairly give them a grade on their actual work, so I gave them a "B" simply so I could post this response. They were overbooked when I called and said it would be several weeks if we wanted the work done. They didn't even offer to look at the project and would offer no reference for someone that could help me, since that would mean giving work to a competitor, which they are doing anyway if they are overbooked. My opinion only, but I'm not impressed with that attitude and feel no need to call them for any future work or to refer them to friends. In my line of work I will refer a client to a friendly competitor if we are that overbooked for work ourselves or just don't want the work.

Description of Work: Aaron completed a full restoration of my historic home in Downtown Charleston. The work he did included the complete gutting of the home's interior, he installed and finished drywall on both the walls and several areas of the ceiling. Aaron completely painted the interior of my home including the windows, trim and doors. Aaron not only refinished the hardwoods I was able to salvage, but he also installed and finished new hardwoods throughout a large portion of the home. He installed tile flooring and granite countertops in the kitchen and all bathrooms. Aaron also repaired the foundation which was having major issues and added a beautiful, large deck off the back of the home. For the electrical, plumbing, and roof repairs, Aaron was able to recommend several sub-contractors which I was also very pleased with. His work was cleaned up extremely well and the job was done in a very timely manner.
