Aaron was great - he educated me on renovation issues that were unique to historical homes of downtown Charleston. And told me ways to cut costs while maintaining the integrity of the home. We ended up not redoing the house, but if we had, we would have chose Aaron. You could tell he had major attention to detail and unique knowledge base. I will be passing on Aaron's info to the person that ended up buying the house.

The 2nd time I called Aaron back was when I had tenants move out in Jan 2017 who left the property in a complete state of disrepair and damage. I had Aaron re-quote along with 3 other vendors, although he wasn't the cheapest he wasn't the most expensive and he was great in the process pointing out areas to improve and other areas to help with costs. He is great at keeping you informed throughout the process and letting you know what he believes is the best course of action even though it maybe more expensive or could involve going a cheaper route. His crew do great work and Aaron will endeavor to fix any outstanding issues to your satisfaction. If you don't want the cheapest but want good value, workmanship and piece of mind then Aaron and Superior Builders are your contractor

Aaron and his team did a great job. Were very friendly and easy to work with. I obtained three quotes for the work and they were the lowest. They worked well with mostly suggestive plans as the work changed as the project came together. Only down side was that costs (as is typical), were high when there were change orders. I know they didn't think so, but I felt some of the costs of the changes were high, but the quality of the work was very good. Our house is a historic one in downtown Charleston and was anything but easy to work on. Aaron (the owner) did work with me on price to try and keep the costs minimized.., I would use Aaron again and would gladly recommend him for repair and deck work.

Contacted Superior Builders of Charleston through Angie's List & then Spoke with Aaron on phone to schedule him to come give estimate to remodel a guest bathroom. Appointment was scheduled for Thursday 9/10/2015 between 1130-1230. I waited all afternoon, and even left a message on his phone, as well as sent a message to him on Angie's list. I understand, things come up and I also understand how busy they are, but he should have been honest and not wasted my time waiting for him!!! Very disappointed seeing as the reviews were good, this is Not a professional way to conduct business.

Superior Construction has been a great company to work with. Our job was especially difficult due to the age and condition of our 1940s cottage, but we knew it was a gem underneath it all. Superior Construction understood the importance of preserving the scale and aesthetic of our particular home in relation to the lot and also to the neighborhood and worked hard to keep the renovation classic and tight. All down the line, the quality of materials and construction of new areas/structures within the home has been done with care and forethought. All work has been extremely well finished and kept to Aaron's high standards. All of the staff has been equally discerning with materials and work done as well as extremely helpful and considerate.

Iif there was a way to give higher than an A+ for what Aaron, Robby and their crew did for us, we absolutely would!! We contacted Aaron, through Angie's List about tearing down a load bearing wall in our 1935 home in Avondale, which was plaster on one side and drywall on the other. He came out THE SAME DAY to give us a quote and walked through some different options he saw working! He explained, in detail, how tearing a load bearing wall down worked, so we knew exactly what would be happening, and welcomed us with a smile, every time we stopped by to watch some of the work being done! Aaron really KNOWS HIS STUFF when it comes to construction and we are BEYOND happy that we found him! We met with a couple other contractors who seemed to come in, not really be interested in what we wanted, then leave and e-mailing us a quote later in the week. Aaron was different because he listened to EXACTLY what we wanted, gave us a quote on the spot and started THE NEXT MORNING! What's awesome about Aaron is he loves to get his hands dirty, but also acts as a contractor! When we realized this, we hired him to do quite a few other things in our home! I don't know what we would have done without him! He thought through EVERYTHING? and things we wouldn't have even know to think through!! It almost felt like he was our older brother, working on our house! He's incredibly approachable, got back to us within seconds every time we texted him, always answered our phone calls, fixed little thinks we noticed within the same day and really aimed to please! He finished ALL OF THE ITEMS ABOVE IN 4 DAYS! I've heard A TON of horror stories with contractors and we feel INCREDIBLY LUCKY to have found such an honest, hard working, detailed, reasonably priced, reliable guy to help us make our new house our DREAM HOME!

Aaron and his team were a pleasure to work with. We consulted with him whilst planning the renovation of our newly purchased 1940s home and worked closely together throughout the renovation to an on-time completion five months later. He and his team are not only fully qualified to carry out all aspects of a remodel, but they are also patient, courteous and reliable and had some excellent suggestions for improvements to our home. Superior Builders successfully remodelled our home to the extent of: opening up a load bearing wall to expose the staircase, changing the location of a laundry room, installing new sconces and can lights throughout, relocating our HVAC return, installing three exterior windows, installing new crown moulding, creating new bathrooms, removal of existing kitchen floors, cabinets and countertops and installing new kitchen, changing the location of an exterior door, installing and refinishing hardwood floors throughout and reinforcing some structural work underneath the house. Each task was met with an optimistic attitude and problem-solving suggestions. Aaron's team were always on time and tidy at the end of each work day. We were very happy with their level of respect for our house and the surrounding community. The results of our renovation surpassed our expectations and I can't imagine that we would have achieved the same results with any other team. We will definitely be using them in the future should any further needs arise.

They did a great job. In fact, the owner did the job of taking out and repairing where the chimney was. There had been leaks whenever there had been a hard rain. We have had at least 2 hard rains since the chimney has been taken out and the repairs made. NO LEAKS!! The shingles matched perfectly to the ones that were already there. (The roof had been replaced 6 yrs ago.)Inside the ceiling in the hall where the gas heater pipe was taken out was repaired and blends in perfectly with everything else. The kitchen and living room ceilings as well you can no longer see any cracks. In fact, during the process there was no drywall dust to have to clean up. Their workers cleaned up everything. I would recommend Superior Builders to anyone. In fact, we are going to have some major work to be done on our home and will definitely have them do the work.

Superior Builders were recommended to me by a friend. I called and Aaron returned my call. He was very polite and showed up as promised and completed all work in a timely manner. They always cleaned up their work area.

Superior Builders truly are superior. The quality of work is amazing (other experts we had come through commented how good of a job they did). Staff were punctual, kind, and even gave us some ideas on how to improve design. We had minor issues with the screens and Aaron came over immediately to fix it. We could have gone with a slightly cheaper company but you get what you pay for and we wanted great quality. The quality Aaron provided exceeded the cost.

June 10, 2014: Owner responded quickly after my initial contact and arrived at my home on the day and at the time we had agreed to over the phone. He was knowledgeable and very easy to deal with. He reviewed the work requirements and submitted a detailed proposal with line item costs in a few days. I decided to go with another contractor who also had a good reputation, with a lower total cost for my repairs and upgrades. Superior was within 11%; however, my budget was pretty well set as to the high limit. He was professional and most responsive. I was not able to go with Superior due to cost.

Work was completed within a reasonable time and I currently have a almost new house. Iam pleased with the work completed. The contractor made sure that I was satisfied thru the entire process. I would work with him again.

Very professional, extremely honest. Although their visit for a quote ended up with us deciding not to do the work, I would 100%, without hesitation, call Superior Builders the next time I'm having work done on my home.

All work has been completely satisfactory . Workmen have arrived on time except once, when delayed by an accident. That time the supervisor came to the house to explain what had happened and the workman were only half an hour late. No time is wasted while working; polite and tidy. We have had more extensive remodeling done by this firm in the past and will certainly use its services in the future.

We found them on Angie’s List. The experience was fantastic actually. We were trying to renovate a cross country renovation. We live in California and we purchased a home in Charleston. They were absolutely wonderful working with us. They were great. If we ever need anything else done they definitely will get our first phone call.

My master bathroom was completely redesigned based on a picture from a magazine and they made it look amazing. They also completely redesigned a small bathroom in my FROG expanding the walls and made it so much more functional. All plumbing was handled by them as well. Aaron was able to recommend several sub-contractors, which I was also pleased with, to do roof repairs and installation of gas instant hot water heaters. As with most large scale projects, unforeseen issues came up during the renovation and Aaron always took the time to show me the issues and offer various options on how to resolve. I never felt Aaron was trying to gouge me on costs for any of these added repairs after our contract was signed nor did I ever feel any of the things he identified were not legitimate issues. I never felt that he was just trying to increase the scope of the job to get mor money. It seems that he often completed most of these additional repairs at his cost. Anytime there was a question of his workers quality or workmanship, no matter how trivial, he always took care of the issue without charging more or making excuses. He consistently and genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy with his work and the finished product, from his first day on the job until his last day. It shows that he takes a tremendous amount of pride in making his customers happy at any cost. After everything was said and done, we were extremely pleased with the way in which Aaron not only handled each task (no matter how trivial) that came up during my job, but my wife and I were thoroughly satisfied with the outcome of our project. What sets Aaron apart from other contractors is his keen ability to listen to what you want, make creative suggestions and offer tradeoffs, and in the end execute your decision. After working with Aaron for a month, my wife even let him pick out the color for the paint in our master bath. He pays close attention to the details in each portion of your project in order to give you great results. His prices were reasonable and I felt like I could trust Aaron to look out for my best interest. He never changed his original bid and the only cost increases were things I added. These adds were negotiated and agreed to before any new work started and Aaron was extremely fair about pricing these. My experience is that this is very hard to find in the construction industry. I would definitely use Aaron again for any future projects.
