This is my first time home buying and new to the whole process of inspection. Joe made the process super easy and explained everything that was going to happen including giving examples and answering any questions i had. Joe was thorough, complete, and professional. His report is awesome because he records the process, takes pictures to make it more clear and later dictates it to the report so you get all the details. He uses laymen terms, which I appreciated.Strongly recommended! You will be very pleased with the level of detail in his reports and the speed at which he completes them.

Fantastic experience. Joe is very thorough and knowledgeable in all aspects of home inspection. Communication was exceptional. He was very helpful in explaining the implications of his findings. His written report covered every aspect of the inspection and will serve as a useful reference after we move into the home. We are buying the property with a much higher degree of confidence thanks to Joe's professional service and advice. I consider the very reasonable fee to have been an investment in our property rather than an expense of the purchase.

I was on the fence about getting an inspection because I had been given advice that the house was "new enough" to not have any major problems. Upon the inspection results I was very glad that I had chosen to get an inspection and to go with Alpha and Omega inspections. I believe Joe did an absolutely excellent job with the inspection of my house. I was very impressed with his attention to detail and all the things he noticed that I never would have. Joe offered me a very fair price for my inspection, it took him about 2 and a half hours to complete the inspection and I received a text message letting me know he was wrapping up and to head on over. What I was very grateful for was that Joe mentioned things that were against code, against common practice and/or things that would alarm him if he was buying the house. One thing that stood out in particular was his mentioned that the house was not wrapped before having the vinyl siding installed. He talked about how this raised concerns that if they were willing to skip out on this during the build, what else would they be willing to go cheap on or leave out. In the end, the inspection helped me to decide that the house was not for me due to the issues and the seller not willing to address any of them. Given that things did not work out for me on the house I had inspected I will be calling on the excellent work of Alpha and Omega inspections again in my near future. Joe is a great man and I honestly believe you are wasting your money going with someone else over Alpha and Omega inspections.

This was the second time we hired Joe and again, we couldn't have been more pleased. He did a thorough job from the roof top to the crawl space and everything in between. We were present for a portion of the inspection and he explained different things he found, how serious they may be and how we could proceed in correcting issues if we wished to do so. He went over everything with us prior to wrapping up and made sure we understood everything and asked if there were anymore questions. Hopefully we won't need another home for a few years, but if we (or any friends) need a home inspector we are calling Joe!

Our new home builder initiated the idea that we have our home inspected before our walk-through and closing. We picked Joe Funderburk of Alpha & Omega Inspections from Angie's List and we are glad we did. Joe did both an initial thorough inspection and two weeks later a re-inspection of items found during the initial inspection to see if they were properly addressed. Joe is knowledgeable, professional, polite, technologically adept, thorough and to the point. He demonstrated a cordial working relationship with our builder, yet he was firm about the need to address areas of concern. He produced and passed along his reports promptly. Joe gave us information that was very helpful and assisted the builder in their efforts to successfully complete our home. We highly recommend him.

Joe was a terrific inspector. We were present during the inspection. He was comfortable with us following him around so that we could understand what he was inspecting and why. He gave each area of the house a very thorough examination and caught several key violations of building code. At the beginning of the inspection, we let Joe know of the areas that were of particular concern to us and he spent extra time examining those areas and talking with us about his findings. He (unlike other inspectors we've used) was willing to step out on the roof to inspect its condition. We felt like he gave us great value for the money and, ultimately, saved us from some potentially costly repairs!

We really can't say enough about the thorough job Joe did for us. We knew going in the home had some issues based on our very cursory inspection of the property. Not only was Joe very responsive when booking, he actually arrived early on inspection day. I guess it was good he got there early, because he was still going after almost 4 hours! We spoke with him about some issues at the end and he explained there would be more detail in the written report, but he would run down some of the highlights with us there. Well the run down was almost as detailed as the official report! He took time to explain several things to us, showed us some pictures he had taken and answered any questions we may have had. He wasn't in any hurry to get going and took his time. In the end he saved us a ton because we withdrew due to several structural issues he had found. When leaving he explained how he hoped to have the official report done and uploaded onto his site by the next day. It was loaded around midnight that same night after not leaving the inspection site until after 4pm! I guess he stayed up late that night! Needless to say, we are still house hunting and Joe will be the person we call in inspect the next one! You won't go wrong by giving him a call.

Joe did a very good job at inspecting my home. He looked at the roof, the attic, the crawlspace and the whole interior. He even had a detector for air and heat loss. He was here for a considerable length of time and was very knowledgeable and efficient! 5 star service!! Thanks Joe.

Joe was very professional and thorough in his inspection of the home I had planned to purchase. He was at the home for 4 - 4.5 hours. He provided a very detailed report with pictures and all of his observations, suggestions and repairs listed out in a very succinct manner. He was all over the property outside, in the attic and in the crawlspace. He was diligent and methodical to cover every crevice to ensure that I had all the information I would need to make an informed decision on the property. Without his thorough inspection, I could have potentially bought a place that would have been a money pit. I will use Joe again for my home inspection needs and recommend his services.

I had Joe do an inspection of a home I am in the process of purchasing. He was on time and very professional. Answered all of the questions I had and let me follow him around the home. I would definitely use Joe again in the future and would recommend him to anyone who needs a home inspection.

Mr. Funderburk is an exceptional professional and truly an expert in his field. If there were a "AA" rating option or higher available, I would not hesitate to select such option. My fiancé and I are out of state soon-to-be new homeowners of a new construction single family home in Fort Mill. Being so far away, it is really important that we have someone we can trust to provide us with an honest and independent home inspection. His work is incredibly detailed and thorough. He crawls through every space and nook - I know this because of his detailed report. It's impossible to have provided such a detailed report without having gone down and into every hole and nook. My mother flipped houses back in the 80's and 90's, long before it became a "thing" so although I am no expert I'm intimately knowledgeable of construction practices. When we first visited the home during a mid-to-late construction phase, I grew increasingly worried at the quality of construction. We did choose an inventory home from a national builder so we both understood from the beginning that buying from a "volume" builder rather than a "custom" builder would result in some trade-offs, however, there were more than a few slight imperfections that got me nervous. Our only regret is not having hired Mr. Funderburk right away. Mr. Funderburk immediately assuaged any fears and concerns. Without having mentioned any of our concerns, Mr. Funderburk included all our concerns, and then some, in his detailed report. My fiancé always jokes that there are very few people as detail-oriented as I am. Mr. Funderburk may be my match. The construction manager for the builder responded to about 25% of the findings with, "that is not [builder name redacted] standards" or "those standards are higher than [builder name redacted]". To which I expressed disappointment, but again, we are buying from a national "volume" builder. I think the price is very fair. Our home, with the walkout basement, is approximately 4,500 square feet and he had to come back a second time (our builder will be reimbursing us for the second trip).
