I was annoyed that he came about 20 minutes early (this is not being punctual in my eyes). I had to stop what I was doing. 10 mins. early ... I can understand that. 20 - impolite. Within a couple of minutes Darryl immediately started trying to sell me his product. While I normally anticipate this, in this case I did not. He explained pros and cons and I said I know nothing about it, so would have to do my research and I just did and it's unacceptable. He was ready to write an estimate just based on what he saw in the front of our house. I asked him to go to the back and his reaction was an expensive one. It may be true but why did I have to ask him to look at the entire gutter. He was not a professional - just a marketeer. I don't want to read a comment by the company or Darryl refuting this. He was NOT going to go to the back until I asked him. His next step after viewing the front was to go write an estimate. He said companies pay $150 to NC (and he said, "Welcome to NC."). To do the gutter in the back it cost an extra $200 due to the height. Truisms or not, my search for a different company continues. I will verify this (I did and based on two professionals - NOT marketers or marketeers - it's not true). There are so few reviews here on Angie's List that I should've looked further. When I did, I did not see enough positive reviews of this product (not this particular company in Asheville) that I will not spend my money on it. Their cost to just clean the gutter (that was given separately) was between 600-700. The cost for replacing the gutter in the back and other issues was over $2000. Sorry I don't have the exact figures - the invoice is elsewhere right now. (Note: 1) I did get another gutter cleaning estimate and was $150. So I do not understand the paying $150 to NC and charging $200 due to the height of our house. On 8/8/11 Got another estimate and he said if the building was being modified, you pay $150 for a building permit. Doing gutter work doesn't require this. His guys go on the roof and do heights all the time - it's NC. He doesn't boost his price by $200 for heights.) What he did not say was the cost per sq' of his product. I found that out elsewhere. It's extremely expensive and again, I was concerned about the bad reviews of the product itself elsewhere on the internet. They seem costly and if they are not with future estimates, I will correct this. (Note: I am the one who got the estimate, not the one whose name is on this account.)

We have problems in bad weather where stuff will run from our roof to our heat pump. They put this system in and it stops probably 99% of the rain from going off the house and all over the place; it takes the water right into the gutter without overflowing it. We called several companies that didn?t get back to us but this company got back to us very promptly. The guy arrived within 15 minutes of when he said he was going to and the company presented itself as being very professional. The Gutter Helmet is doing exactly what they said it would do. I don?t know if we got a good price; we just needed to have something done so we did it. I found another system that was rated better so I would probably use Gutter Helmet again but I'd do more research first. When the salesman showed up, he told us that it would take care of the problem and not one drop of water would overflow. That was not true. I got online and saw some recordings that show the system and it takes care of about 99% of the water. We are happy with the product but the salesman was just overzealous.

The person that came out was excellent. However, there was some problem with their systems. They weren?t recommended highly by other consumers. I had the work done by some other company. This company was fine, but it didn?t work out for me.

waited after first estimate and decided to take advantage of sale i heard abouot on radio. then when they refigured the final price was higher than original because they mistakenly left of a long piece of gutter helmet.. so even with the sale i had to scale back. We hope to finish the upper story before Fall,. The gentleman who did the estimate was very good and really knows gutters, rain, roof and his competition. We had a budget of under 2K and they came in at 1905.00. THey were very good abouot trying to keep in budget and offering alternatives but we wanted gutter helmet. They suggested we check with homeowners insur for hail damage and I did. They were very informative, helpful and not high pressure. The installers were wonderful, on time, fast, clean and even caught a copperhead that was heading into my garage where our kitties sleep.!!!!! I was petrified but they were very calm cool and collected. THey left before I could thank them again. They were speedy and explained everything about how to care for the gutters etc. I choose 'bad" for pricing but really it was between bad and fair and more toward the fair side. you need to add another category like "pricey" or something less than "bad". I got other estimates but no where near as professional.

Gutter Helmet installer arrived promptly on agreed time and date. Installer was very polite and respectful of plants and flowers around house. Installation was very professional and was done in a timely manner.

Project was done on time and on budget. Water issues have been cleared up. I DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN THE GUTTERS ON MY 2-story HOUSE!!!!!!

I called Gutter Helmet to come out and clean my gutters and give me an estimate on installing Gutter Helmet. They were fast, responsive, reasonable, and did a great job.

I already knew I wanted that system, as I spent a lot of time on their website and my parents had bought it. I've had it since last summer and I don't have to worry about leaves, pine cones and sticks clogging up my gutters ever again. It helps with drainage issues a lot. Every couple of months I used to have to pay about $40 to someone who did a bad job, throwing leaves down, not cleaning up. Forget that.
